Psalm 101

1 Ein Psalm Davids. Von Gnade und Recht will ich singen; dir, HERR, soll es klingen!

A Psalm of David. I will sing of mercy and justice; unto Thee, O LORD, will I sing praises.

2 Ich möchte den unsträflichen Weg kennen lernen! Wann kommst du zu mir? Ich will wandeln in Einfalt meines Herzens inmitten meines Hauses.

I will give heed unto the way of integrity; Oh when wilt Thou come unto me? I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart.

3 Ich will nichts Schlechtes vor meine Augen stellen; Übertretung zu üben hasse ich, es soll mir nicht ankleben.

I will set no base thing before mine eyes; I hate the doing of things crooked; it shall not cleave unto me.

4 Ein verkehrtes Herz soll von mir weichen; den Bösen will ich nicht kennen lernen!

A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know no evil thing.

5 Wer seinen Nächsten heimlich verleumdet, den vertilge ich; wer stolze Augen und ein hochmütiges Herz hat, den mag ich nicht.

Whoso slandereth his neighbour in secret, him will I destroy; whoso is haughty of eye and proud of heart, him will I not suffer.

6 Ich sehe auf die Treuen im Lande, daß sie bei mir wohnen; wer auf unsträflichem Wege wandelt, der soll mir dienen.

Mine eyes are upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he that walketh in a way of integrity, he shall minister unto me.

7 In meinem Hause soll keiner wohnen, der sich Betrügereien erlaubt; wer Lügen redet, soll nicht bestehen vor meinen Augen.

He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house; he that speaketh falsehood shall not be established before mine eyes.

8 Jeden Morgen will ich alle Gottlosen im Lande vertilgen, um alle Übeltäter auszurotten aus der Stadt des HERRN.

Morning by morning will I destroy all the wicked of the land; to cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of the LORD.
