Sprueche 7
1 Mein Sohn, bewahre meine Rede und birg meine Gebote in dir!
[My] son, keep my words, and hide with thee my commandments. [My] son, honour the Lord, and thou shalt be strong; and fear none but him:
2 Beobachte meine Gebote, so wirst du leben, und bewahre meine Lehre wie einen Augapfel!
keep my commandments, and thou shalt live; and [keep] my words as the pupils of [thine] eyes.
3 Binde sie an deine Finger, schreibe sie auf die Tafel deines Herzens!
And bind them on thy fingers, and write [them] on the table of thine heart.
4 Sprich zur Weisheit: Du bist meine Schwester! und sage zum Verstand: Du bist mein Vertrauter!
Say that wisdom is thy sister, and gain prudence as an acquaintance for thyself;
5 daß du bewahrt bleibest vor dem fremden Weibe, vor der Buhlerin, die glatte Worte gibt!
that she may keep thee from the strange and wicked woman, if she should assail thee with flattering words.
6 Denn als ich am Fenster meines Hauses durch das Gitter guckte
For she looks from a window out of her house into the streets, at one whom she may see of the senseless ones, a young man void of understanding,
7 und die Einfältigen beobachtete, bemerkte ich unter den Söhnen einen unverständigen Jüngling.
passing by the corner in the passages near her house,
8 Der strich auf der Gasse herum, nicht weit von ihrem Winkel, und betrat den Weg zu ihrem Haus
and speaking, in the dark of the evening,
9 in der Dämmerung, beim Einbruch der Nacht, da es dunkelte.
when there happens [to be] the stillness of night and of darkness:
10 Siehe, da lief ihm ein Weib entgegen im Hurenschmuck und verschmitzten Herzens,
and the woman meets him having the appearance of a harlot, that causes the hearts of young men to flutter.
11 frech und zügellos. Ihre Füße können nicht zu Hause bleiben;
And she is fickle, and debauched, and her feet abide not at home.
12 bald auf der Straße, bald auf den Plätzen, an allen Ecken lauert sie.
For at one time she wanders without, and at [another] time she lies in wait in the streets, at every corner.
13 Die ergriff und küßte ihn, und mit unverschämter Miene sprach sie zu ihm:
Then she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,
14 «Ich war ein Dankopfer schuldig, heute habe ich meine Gelübde bezahlt;
I have a peace-offering; today I pay my vows:
15 darum bin ich ausgegangen dir entgegen, um eifrig dein Angesicht zu suchen, und ich fand dich auch!
therefore I came forth to meet thee, desiring thy face; [and] I have found thee.
16 Ich habe mein Lager mit Teppichen gepolstert, mit bunten Decken von ägyptischem Garn;
I have spread my bed with sheets, and I have covered it with double tapestry from Egypt.
17 ich habe mein Bett besprengt mit Myrrhe, Aloe und Zimt.
I have sprinkled my couch with saffron, and my house with cinnamon.
18 Komm, wir wollen der Liebe genießen bis zum Morgen, uns an Liebkosungen ergötzen!
Come, and let us enjoy love until the morning; come, and let us embrace in love.
19 Denn der Mann ist nicht zu Hause, er hat eine weite Reise angetreten,
For my husband is not at home, but is gone on a long journey,
20 er hat den Geldbeutel mitgenommen und kommt erst am Tage des Vollmonds wieder heim.»
having taken in his hand a bundle of money: after many days he will return to his house.
21 Durch ihr eifriges Zureden machte sie ihn geneigt und bewog ihn mit ihren glatten Worten,
So with much converse she prevailed on him to go astray, and with the snares of her lips forced him from [the right path].
22 so daß er ihr plötzlich nachlief, wie ein Ochse zur Schlachtbank geht und wie ein Gefesselter zum Narrenhaus
And he followed her, being gently led on, and [that] as an ox is led to the slaughter, and as a dog to bonds, or as a hart shot in the liver with an arrow:
23 (bis ihm der Pfeil die Leber spaltet), wie ein Vogel ins Netz hinein fliegt und nicht weiß, daß es ihn sein Leben kostet!
and he hastens as a bird into a snare, not knowing that he is running for [his] life.
24 So schenkt mir nun Gehör, ihr Söhne, und merkt auf die Reden meines Mundes!
Now then, [my] son, hearken to me, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25 Dein Herz neige sich nicht ihren Wegen zu, und verirre dich nicht auf ihre Pfade;
Let not thine heart turn aside to her ways:
26 denn sie hat viele verwundet und zu Fall gebracht, und gewaltig ist die Zahl ihrer Opfer.
for she has wounded and cast down many, and those whom she has slain are innumerable.
