Sprueche 18
1 Wer sich absondert, pflegt seine Liebhaberei und wehrt sich gegen alles, was heilsam ist.
Desire he seeks [one who] separates himself on all sound wisdom he bursts out.
2 Einem Toren ist es nicht ums Lernen zu tun, sondern um kundzumachen, was er weiß.
Not he delights a fool in understanding that except in revealing itself heart his.
3 Wo der Gottlose hinkommt, da stellt sich auch Verachtung ein und mit der Schande die Schmach.
When comes a wicked [person] it comes also contempt and with shame reproach.
4 Die Worte eines Mannes sind tiefe Wasser, ein sprudelnder Bach, eine Quelle der Weisheit.
[are] waters Deep [the] words of [the] mouth of a person a wadi flowing a fountain of wisdom.
5 Es ist nicht gut, wenn man die Person des Gottlosen ansieht und den Gerechten im Gericht unterdrückt.
To lift up [the] face of a wicked [person] not [is] good to turn aside a righteous [person] in judgment.
6 Die Reden des Toren stiften Streit, und er schimpft, bis er Schläge kriegt.
[the] lips of A fool they go in strife and mouth his for blows it calls.
7 Des Toren Mund wird ihm zum Verderben, und seine Lippen sind der Fallstrick seiner Seele.
[the] mouth of A fool [is] ruin of him and lips his [are] [the] snare of life his.
8 Die Worte des Verleumders sind wie Leckerbissen; man verschlingt sie mit großem Appetit.
[the] words of A slanderer [are] like delicacies and they they go down [the] chambers of [the] belly.
9 Wer nachlässig ist in seinem Geschäft, der ist ein Bruder des Zerstörers.
Also [one who] shows himself idle in work his [is] a brother he of a master of destruction.
10 Der Name des HERRN ist ein festes Schloß; der Gerechte läuft dahin und wird beschirmt.
[is] a tower of Strength [the] name of Yahweh in it he runs a righteous [person] and he is set on high.
11 Das Gut des Reichen ist seine feste Burg und wie eine hohe Mauer in seiner Einbildung.
[the] wealth of A rich [person] [is] [the] town of strength his and like a wall high in own imagination his.
12 Vor dem Zusammenbruch erhebt sich des Menschen Herz; aber der Ehre geht Demut voraus.
Before destruction it is haughty [the] heart of a person and [is] before honor humility.
13 Wer antwortet, bevor er gehört hat, dem ist es Torheit und Schande.
[one who] brings back A word before he listens [is] folly it of him and ignominy.
14 Ein männlicher Mut erträgt sein Leiden; wer aber kann einen niedergeschlagenen Geist aufrichten?
[the] spirit of A person it will endure sickness his and a spirit stricken who? will he bear it.
15 Ein verständiges Herz erwirbt Kenntnisse, und das Ohr der Weisen lauscht dem Wissen.
A heart discerning it acquires knowledge and [the] ear of wise [people] it seeks knowledge.
16 Das Geschenk macht dem Menschen Raum und geleitet ihn vor die Großen.
[the] gift of A person it makes space for him and before great [people] it leads him.
17 Wer sich in seinem Prozeß zuerst verteidigen darf, hat Recht; dann kommt der andere und forscht ihn aus.
[is] righteous The first in case his (and he will come *Q(K)*) neighbor his and he will examine him.
18 Das Los schlichtet den Hader und entscheidet zwischen den Starken.
Contentions it puts an end to the lot and between mighty [people] it separates.
19 Ein Bruder, mit dem man sich entzweit hat, ist schwerer zu gewinnen als eine Burg, und Zwistigkeiten sind wie der Riegel an einem Schloß.
A brother transgressed [is] more than a town of strength (and contentions *Q(K)*) [are] like [the] bar of a fortress.
20 An der Frucht seines Mundes sättigt sich der Mensch, am Ertrag seiner Lippen ißt er sich satt.
From [the] fruit of [the] mouth of a person it is satisfied belly his [the] produce of lips his he is satisfied.
21 Tod und Leben steht in der Zunge Gewalt; wer sie liebt, ißt ihre Frucht.
Death and life [are] in [the] hand of [the] tongue and [those who] love it he will eat fruit its.
22 Wer eine Frau gefunden, der hat etwas Gutes gefunden und Gunst von dem HERRN erlangt.
He finds a wife he finds a good thing and he obtained pleasure from Yahweh.
23 Der Arme redet bittend; aber der Reiche antwortet grob.
Supplications he speaks a poor [person] and a rich [person] he answers strong [words].
24 Wer viele Gefährten hat, gefährdet sich selbst; aber es gibt einen Freund, der anhänglicher ist als ein Bruder.
A person of companions [is] to be broken and there [is one who] loves cleaving more than a brother.
