Nehemia 3

1 Und Eljaschib, der Hohepriester, machte sich auf, samt seinen Brüdern, den Priestern, und baute das Schaftor; das heiligten sie und setzten seine Türen ein; und [sie bauten] weiter bis zum Turm Mea, den heiligten sie, [und] bis zum Turm Hananeel.

Then arose Eliashib the high priest and his brethren the priests, and built the sheep-gate, they, hallowed it, and set up the doors thereof, —even unto the tower of Hammeah, hallowed they it, unto the tower of Hananel;

2 Neben ihm bauten die Männer von Jericho; auch Sakkur, der Sohn Imris, baute neben ihm.

and, at his hand, built, the men of Jericho, —and at his [other] hand built Zaccur, son of Imri.

3 Und das Fischtor bauten die Söhne Senaas; sie deckten es mit Balken und setzten seine Türen ein, seine Schlösser und seine Riegel.

And, the fish-gate, did the sons of Hassenaah build, —they, laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof;

4 Neben ihnen baute Meremot, der Sohn Urijas, des Sohnes des Hakkoz. Neben ihnen baute Mesullam, der Sohn Berechjas, des Sohnes Meschesabels; und neben ihnen baute Zadok, der Sohn Baanas.

and, at their hand, repaired, Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz, and, at their hand, repaired, Meshullum son of Berechiah son of Meshezabel, —and, at their hand, repaired, Zadok son of Baana;

5 Neben ihnen bauten die Tekoiter; aber die Vornehmen unter ihnen beugten ihre Nacken nicht zum Dienst ihres HERRN.

and, at their hand, repaired, the Tekoites, —but, their chiefs, put not their neck into the service of their lords.

6 Das alte Tor bauten Jojada, der Sohn Paseachs, und Mesullam, der Sohn Besodjas; sie deckten es mit Balken und setzten seine Türen ein, seine Schlösser und seine Riegel.

And, the old gate, did Joiada son of Paseah, and Meshullam, son of Besodeiah, repair, —they, laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof;

7 Neben ihnen baute Melatja, der Gibeoniter, und Jadon, der Meronotiter, samt den Männern von Gibeon und von Mizpa, die der Gerichtsbarkeit des Landpflegers jenseits des Stromes unterstanden.

and, at their hand, repaired, Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, —who pertained to the throne of the pasha Beyond the River;

8 Neben ihm baute Ussiel, der Sohn Harhajas, einer der Goldschmiede. Neben ihm baute Hananja, ein Sohn der Salbenmischer, die Jerusalem verlassen hatten, bis an die breite Mauer.

at his hand, repaired, Uzziel son of Harhaiah, goldsmiths, and, at his hand, repaired Hananiah son of the perfumers, —and they fortified Jerusalem, as far as the broad wall;

9 Neben ihnen baute Rephaja, der Sohn Churs, der Oberste des halben Bezirks von Jerusalem.

and, at their hand, repaired, Rephaiah son of Hur, ruler of a half-circuit of Jerusalem;

10 Neben ihnen baute Jedaja, der Sohn Harumaphs, gegenüber seinem Haus. Neben ihm baute Hattus, der Sohn Hasabnias.

and, at their hand, repaired, Jedaiah son of Harumaph, even over against his own house, —and, at his hand, repaired, Hattush, son of Hashabneiah;

11 Aber Malchija, der Sohn Harims, und Hassub, der Sohn Pachat-Moabs, bauten ein zweites Stück und den Ofenturm.

a second length, did Malchijah son of Harim and Hasshub son of Pahath-moab, repair, —also the tower of the ovens;

12 Neben ihm baute Sallum, der Sohn Hallohes, der Oberste des andern halben Bezirkes von Jerusalem, er und seine Töchter.

and, at his hand, repaired, Shallum son of Hallohesh, ruler of a half-circuit of Jerusalem, —he and his daughters.

13 Das Taltor bauten Chanun und die Bürger von Sanoach. Sie bauten es und setzten seine Türen ein, seine Schlösser und seine Riegel, dazu tausend Ellen an der Mauer, bis an das Misttor.

The valley-gate, did Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah, repair, —they, built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, —also a thousand cubits in the wall, as far as the dung-gate.

14 Das Misttor aber baute Malchija, der Sohn Rechabs, der Oberste über den Bezirk Beth-Kerem. Er baute es und setzte seine Türen ein, seine Schlösser und seine Riegel.

And, the dung-gate, did Malchijah son of Rechab, ruler of the circuit of Beth-haccherem, repair, —he, built it, and set up the doors thereof, he locks thereof, and the bars thereof.

15 Aber das Brunnentor baute Sallum, der Sohn Kol-Choses, der Oberste des Bezirks Mizpa. Er baute es und deckte es mit Balken und setzte seine Türen ein, seine Schlösser und seine Riegel, dazu [baute er] die Mauern am Teiche Siloah beim Garten des Königs, bis an die Stufen, die von der Stadt Davids herabführen.

And, the fountain-gate, did Shallun son of Col-hozeh ruler of the circuit of Mizpah, repair, he, built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, —also the wall of the pool of Shelah, by the garden of the king, even as far as the stairs that go down from the city of David;

16 Nach ihm baute Nehemia, der Sohn Asbuks, der Oberste über die Hälfte des Bezirks Beth-Zur, bis gegenüber den Gräbern Davids und bis an den künstlichen Teich und bis an das Haus der Helden.

after him, repaired, Nehemiah son of Azbuk, ruler of the half-circuit of Beth-zur, —as far as over against the sepulchres of David, even unto the pool which had been made, and unto the house of heroes;

17 Nach ihm bauten die Leviten, Rehum, der Sohn Banis. Neben ihm baute Hasabja, der Oberste über die Hälfte des Bezirks Kehila für seinen Bezirk.

after him, repaired, the Levites, Rehum son of Bani, —at his hand, repaired, Hashabiah, ruler of the half-circuit of Keilah, for his circuit;

18 Nach ihm bauten ihre Brüder, Bavai, der Sohn Henadads, der Oberste über die andere Hälfte des Bezirks Kehila.

after him, repaired, their brethren, Bavvai son of Henadad, —ruler of the [other] half-circuit of Keilah;

19 Neben ihm baute Eser, der Sohn Jesuas, der Oberste zu Mizpa, ein zweites Stück gegenüber dem Aufstieg zum Zeughaus am Winkel.

and there repaired at his hand, Ezer son of Jeshua, ruler of Mizpah, a second length, —over against the ascent of the armoury, at the corner;

20 Nach ihm baute Baruch, der Sohn Sabbais, bergwärts ein weiteres Stück vom Winkel bis an die Haustüre Eljaschibs, des Hohenpriesters.

after him, zealously repaired Baruch son of Zabbai, a second length, —from the corner, unto the opening of the house of Eliashib, the high priest;

21 Nach ihm baute Meremot, der Sohn Urijas, des Sohnes des Hakkoz, ein weiteres Stück von der Haustüre Eljaschibs bis an das Ende des Hauses Eljaschibs.

after him, repaired, Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz, a second length, —from the opening of the house of Eliashib, even unto the end of the house of Eliashib;

22 Nach ihm bauten die Priester, die Männer der Umgebung.

and, after him, repaired, the priests, the men of the Circuit;

23 Nach ihnen bauten Benjamin und Hassub ihrem Hause gegenüber. Nach ihnen baute Asarja, der Sohn Maasejas, des Sohnes Ananjas, bei seinem Hause.

after him, repaired, Benjamin and Hasshub, over against their own house, —after him, repaired, Azariah son of Maaseiah son of Ananiah, beside his own house;

24 Nach ihm baute Binnui, der Sohn Henadads, ein zweites Stück, von dem Hause Asarjas bis zum Winkel und bis an die Ecke.

after him, repaired, Binnui son of Henadad, a second length, —from the house of Azariah, unto the corner, even unto the pinnacle:

25 Palal, der Sohn Usais, baute gegenüber dem Winkel und dem obern Turm, der am Hause des Königs vorspringt, bei dem Kerkerhof. Nach ihm Pedaja, der Sohn Parhos.

Palal, son of Uzai, from over against the corner, and the tower that projecteth from the upper house of the king, which belongeth to the court of custody, —after him, Pedaiah son of Parosh.

26 Die Tempeldiener aber wohnten auf dem Ophel bis gegenüber dem Wassertor im Osten und dem vorspringenden Turm.

Now, the Nethinim, were dwelling in Ophel, —as far as over against the water-gate, on the east, and the tower that projecteth;

27 Nach ihm bauten die von Tekoa ein zweites Stück, gegenüber dem großen vorspringenden Turm und bis an die Ophelmauer.

after him, repaired, the Tekoites, a second length, —from over against the great tower that projecteth, even unto the wall of Ophel:

28 Von dem Roßtor an bauten die Priester, ein jeder seinem Hause gegenüber.

from beside the horse-gate, repaired the priests, every one over against his own house;

29 Nach ihnen baute Zadok, der Sohn Immers, seinem Hause gegenüber. Nach ihm baute Semaja, der Sohn Sechanjas, der Hüter des östlichen Tores.

after him, repaired, Zadok son of Immer, over against his own house, —and, after him, repaired, Shemaiah son of Shecaniah, keeper of the east-gate;

30 Nach ihm bauten Hananja, der Sohn Selemjas, und Chanun, der sechste Sohn Zalaphs, ein zweites Stück. Nach ihm baute Mesullam, der Sohn Berechjas, gegenüber seiner Kammer.

after him, repaired, Hananiah son of Shelemiah, and Hanun sixth son of Zalaph, a second length, —after him, repaired, Meshullam son of Berechiah, over against his chamber;

31 Nach ihm baute Malchija, der Sohn des Goldschmieds, bis an das Haus der Tempeldiener und der Krämer, dem Wachttor gegenüber, bis zum Ecksöller.

after him, repaired, Malchijah son of Zorphi, as far as the house of the Nethinim, and the traders, —over against the muster-gate, even unto the ascent of the pinnacle;

32 Und zwischen dem Ecksöller und dem Schaftore bauten die Goldschmiede und die Krämer.

and, between the ascent of the pinnacle and the sheep-gate, repaired, the goldsmiths, and the traders.
