Matthaeus 18

1 Zu jener Stunde traten die Jünger zu Jesus und sprachen: Wer ist wohl der Größte im Himmelreich?

In that [very] hour came the disciples to Jesus saying; Who then [the] greatest is in the kingdom of the heavens?

2 Und Jesus rief ein Kind herbei, stellte es mitten unter sie

And having called to [Him] (Jesus *k*) a child He set it in midst of them

3 und sprach: Wahrlich, ich sage euch, wenn ihr nicht umkehret und werdet wie die Kinder, so werdet ihr nicht in das Himmelreich kommen!

and said; Amen I say to you; only unless you may turn and may become as the little children, certainly not shall you enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

4 Wer nun sich selbst erniedrigt wie dieses Kind, der ist der Größte im Himmelreich.

Whoever therefore (will humble *N(k)O*) himself as little child this, he is the greater in the kingdom of the heavens.

5 Und wer ein solches Kind in meinem Namen aufnimmt, der nimmt mich auf.

And who[ever] (if *NK(o)*) shall receive one little child (such *N(k)O*) in the name of Me, Me myself receives.

6 Wer aber einem von diesen Kleinen, die an mich glauben, Ärgernis gibt, für den wäre es besser, daß ein Mühlstein an seinen Hals gehängt und er in die Tiefe des Meeres versenkt würde.

Who[ever] then maybe may cause to stumble one of the little ones of these who are believing in Me myself, it is better for him that may be hung a millstone heavy (around *N(k)(o)*) the neck of him, and he may be sunk in the depth of the sea.

7 Wehe der Welt der Ärgernisse halber! Denn es ist zwar notwendig, daß die Ärgernisse kommen, aber wehe dem Menschen, durch welchen das Ärgernis kommt!

Woe to the world because of the causes of sin; Necessary [are] for (is *ko*) to come the stumbling blocks, but woe to the man (that [one] *k*) through whom the offense comes!

8 Wenn aber deine Hand oder dein Fuß für dich ein Anstoß zur Sünde wird, so haue sie ab und wirf sie von dir! Es ist besser für dich, daß du lahm oder verstümmelt in das Leben eingehest, als daß du zwei Hände oder zwei Füße habest und in das ewige Feuer geworfen werdest. (aiōnios g166)

If now the hand of you or the foot of you causes to sin you, do cut off (it *N(K)O*) and do cast [it] from you; better for you it is to enter into life crippled or lame than two hands or two feet having to be cast into the fire eternal. (aiōnios g166)

9 Und wenn dein Auge für dich ein Anstoß zur Sünde wird, so reiß es aus und wirf es von dir! Es ist besser für dich, daß du einäugig in das Leben eingehest, als daß du zwei Augen habest und in das höllische Feuer geworfen werdest. (Geenna g1067)

And if the eye of you causes to sin you, do gouge out it and do cast [it] from you; better for you it is one-eyed into life to enter than two eyes having to be cast into the hell of the fire. (Geenna g1067)

10 Sehet zu, daß ihr keinen dieser Kleinen verachtet! Denn ich sage euch, ihre Engel im Himmel schauen allezeit das Angesicht meines Vaters im Himmel.

do see [that] not may you despise one of the little ones of these; I say for to you that the angels of them in [the] heavens through all [times] behold the face of the Father of mine who [is] in [the] heavens.

11 Denn des Menschen Sohn ist gekommen, das Verlorene zu retten.

(came *KO*) (for son of man to save those already perishing. *K*)

12 Was dünkt euch? Wenn ein Mensch hundert Schafe hat, und es verirrt sich eines von ihnen, läßt er nicht die neunundneunzig auf den Bergen, geht hin und sucht das Verirrte?

What you do think? If may happen a certain man [has] a hundred sheep and shall have gone astray one of them, surely (he will leave *N(k)O*) the ninety nine on the mountains, (and *no*) having gone will seek the [one] going astray?

13 Und wenn es sich begibt, daß er es findet, wahrlich, ich sage euch, er freut sich über dasselbe mehr als über die neunundneunzig, die nicht verirrt waren.

And if he may happen to find it, Amen I say to you that he rejoices over it more than over the ninety nine which not gone astray.

14 Also ist es auch nicht der Wille eures Vaters im Himmel, daß eines dieser Kleinen verloren gehe.

Thus not it is [the] will of the Father (of you *NK(O)*) who [is] in [the] heavens that may perish (one *N(k)O*) of the little ones of these.

15 Wenn aber dein Bruder an dir gesündigt hat, so gehe hin und weise ihn zurecht unter vier Augen. Hört er auf dich, so hast du deinen Bruder gewonnen.

If now shall sin against you the brother of you, do go (and *k*) do reprove him between you and him alone. If you he shall hear, you have gained the brother of you.

16 Hört er aber nicht, so nimm noch einen oder zwei mit dir, damit jede Sache auf der Aussage von zwei oder drei Zeugen beruhe.

only however unless he shall hear, do take with you more one or two that upon [the] testimony of two witnesses or of three may be strengthened every declaration.

17 Hört er aber diese nicht, so sage es der Gemeinde. Hört er aber auch die Gemeinde nicht, so gelte er dir wie ein Heide und Zöllner.

If now he shall fail to listen to them, do tell [it] to the church. If now also to the church he shall fail to listen, he should be to you as the pagan and the tax collector.

18 Wahrlich, ich sage euch, was ihr auf Erden binden werdet, das wird im Himmel gebunden sein, und was ihr auf Erden lösen werdet, das wird im Himmel gelöst sein.

Amen I say to you; as much as (if *NK(o)*) you shall bind on the earth, will have been bound in (*ko*) heaven; and as much as if you shall loose on the earth, will have been loosed in (*ko*) heaven.

19 Weiter sage ich euch, wenn zwei von euch übereinkommen werden auf Erden über irgend eine Sache, für die sie bitten wollen, so soll sie ihnen zuteil werden von meinem Vater im Himmel.

Again (Amen *NO*) I say to you that if two shall agree (of *no*) you on the earth concerning any matter that if they shall ask, it will be done for them by the Father of Mine who [is] in [the] heavens.

20 Denn wo zwei oder drei in meinem Namen versammelt sind, da bin ich mitten unter ihnen.

Where for are two or three assembled unto My name, there am I in [the] midst of them.

21 Da trat Petrus herzu und sprach: Herr, wie oft soll ich meinem Bruder vergeben, welcher gegen mich sündigt? Bis siebenmal?

Then having come Peter said to Him; Lord, how often will sin against me myself the brother of mine and I will forgive him? Up to seven times?

22 Jesus antwortete ihm: Ich sage dir, nicht bis siebenmal, sondern bis siebzigmalsiebenmal!

Says to him Jesus; Not I say to you up to seven times but up to seventy times seven!

23 Darum ist das Himmelreich gleich einem Könige, der mit seinen Knechten rechnen wollte.

Because of this has become like the kingdom of the heavens to a man a king who desired to settle accounts with the servants of him.

24 Und als er anfing zu rechnen, ward einer vor ihn gebracht, der war zehntausend Talente schuldig.

When was beginning then he to settle (was brought to *NK(o)*) to him one a debtor of ten thousand talents.

25 Da er aber nicht bezahlen konnte, befahl sein Herr, ihn und sein Weib und seine Kinder und alles, was er hatte, zu verkaufen und also zu bezahlen.

[When] not is having [anything] now he to pay he commanded him the master (of him *k*) to be sold and the wife (of him *ko*) and the children and all as much as (he has *N(k)O*) and payment to be made.

26 Da warf sich der Knecht vor ihm nieder und sprach: Herr, habe Geduld mit mir, so will ich dir alles bezahlen!

Having fallen down therefore the servant was bowing on his knees to him saying; (lord *ko*) do have patience with (me myself, *NK(o)*) and all I will pay to you.

27 Da erbarmte sich der Herr dieses Knechtes und gab ihn frei und erließ ihm die Schuld.

Having been moved with compassion now the master of the servant, that [one] released him and the debt forgave him.

28 Als aber dieser Knecht hinausging, fand er einen Mitknecht, der war ihm hundert Denare schuldig; den ergriff er, würgte ihn und sprach: Bezahle, was du schuldig bist!

Having gone out however the servant same found one of the fellow servants of him who was owing to him a hundred denarii, and having seized him he was throttling [him] saying; do pay (to me *k*) (if *N(k)O*) any you owe.’

29 Da warf sich sein Mitknecht nieder, bat ihn und sprach: Habe Geduld mit mir, so will ich dir alles bezahlen!

Having fallen down therefore the fellow servant of him (into the feet of him *K*) was begging him saying; do have patience with (me myself, *NK(o)*) and (all things *K*) I will pay you.

30 Er aber wollte nicht, sondern ging hin und warf ihn ins Gefängnis, bis er bezahlt hätte, was er schuldig war.

But not he was willing, but having gone he cast him into prison until (what of him *ko*) he may pay that which is being owed.

31 Als aber seine Mitknechte sahen, was geschehen war, wurden sie sehr betrübt, kamen und berichteten ihrem Herrn die ganze Geschichte.

Having seen (therefore *N(k)O*) the fellow servants of him the [things] having taken place they were grieved deeply, and having gone they narrated to the master (of themselves *N(k)O*) all that having taken place.

32 Da ließ sein Herr ihn kommen und sprach zu ihm: Du böser Knecht! Jene ganze Schuld habe ich dir erlassen, weil du mich batest;

Then having called to him the master of him says to him; Servant evil, all the debt, that [one] I forgave you because you begged me.

33 solltest denn nicht auch du dich über deinen Mitknecht erbarmen, wie ich mich über dich erbarmt habe?

Surely it was necessary also you to have pitied the fellow servant of you as also I myself also I myself you pitied?

34 Und voll Zorn übergab ihn sein Herr den Peinigern, bis er alles bezahlt hätte, was er schuldig war.

And having been angry the master of him delivered him to the jailers until that he may pay all which is being owed (to him. *ko*)

35 Also wird auch mein himmlischer Vater mit euch verfahren, wenn ihr nicht ein jeder seinem Bruder von Herzen die Fehler vergebet.

Thus also the Father of Mine (heavenly *N(k)O*) will do to you only unless you may forgive each the brother of him from the heart of you (the trespasses of them. *K*)
