Lukas 14
1 Und es begab sich, als er am Sabbat in das Haus eines Obersten der Pharisäer ging, um zu speisen, da beobachteten sie ihn.
And it chaunsed that he went into the housse of one of ye chefe pharises to eate breed on a saboth daye: and they watched him.
2 Und siehe, da war ein wassersüchtiger Mensch vor ihm.
And beholde ther was a man before him which had the dropsye.
3 Und Jesus hob an und sprach zu den Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäern: Ist es erlaubt, am Sabbat zu heilen, oder nicht?
And Iesus answered and spake vnto the lawears and pharises sayinge: is it laufull to heale on the saboth daye?
4 Sie aber schwiegen. Da rührte er ihn an und machte ihn gesund und entließ ihn.
And they helde their peace. And he toke him and healed him and let him goo:
5 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Wer von euch, wenn ihm sein Ochse oder Esel in den Brunnen fällt, wird ihn nicht alsbald herausziehen am Sabbattag?
and answered the sayinge whiche of you shall have an asse or an oxe fallen into a pitt and will not strayght waye pull him out on the Saboth daye?
6 Und sie vermochten ihm nichts dagegen zu antworten.
And they coulde not answer him agayne to that.
7 Er sagte aber zu den Gästen ein Gleichnis, da er bemerkte, wie sie die ersten Plätze auswählten, und sprach zu ihnen:
He put forthe a similitude to ye gestes whe he marked how they preased to the hyest roumes and sayd vnto the:
8 Wenn du von jemand zur Hochzeit geladen bist, so setze dich nicht obenan, damit nicht etwa ein Vornehmerer als du von ihm geladen sei
When thou arte bidde to a weddynge of eny man syt not doune in ye hyest roume lest a more honorable man then thou be bidden of him
9 und nun der, der dich und ihn geladen hat, komme und zu dir sage: Mache diesem Platz! und du dann beschämt den letzten Platz einnehmen müssest.
and he that bade bothe him and the come and saye to the: geve this man roume and thou then beginne with shame to take the lowest roume.
10 Sondern wenn du geladen bist, so gehe hin und setze dich auf den letzten Platz, damit der, welcher dich eingeladen hat, wenn er kommt, zu dir spreche: Freund, rücke hinauf! Dann wirst du Ehre haben vor denen, die mit dir zu Tische sitzen.
But rather when thou arte bidden goo and syt in the lowest roume that when he that bade the cometh he maye saye vnto the: frende syt vp hyer. Then shalt thou have worshippe in the presence of them that syt at meate with the.
11 Denn wer sich selbst erhöht, der wird erniedrigt werden; und wer sich selbst erniedrigt, der wird erhöht werden.
For whosoever exalteth him sylfe shalbe brought lowe. And he yt hubleth him sylfe shalbe exalted
12 Er sagte aber auch zu dem, der ihn geladen hatte: Wenn du ein Mittags oder Abendmahl machst, so lade nicht deine Freunde, noch deine Brüder, noch deine Verwandten, noch reiche Nachbarn ein, damit nicht etwa auch sie dich wieder einladen und dir Vergeltung werde;
Then sayde he also to him that had desyred him to diner: When thou makest a diner or a supper: call not thy frendes nor thy brethre nether thy kinsmen nor yet ryche neghbours: lest they bidde the agayne and a recompence be made the.
13 sondern wenn du ein Gastmahl machst, so lade Arme, Krüppel, Lahme, Blinde ein,
But when thou makest afeast call the poore the maymed the lame and the blynde
14 so wirst du selig sein; denn weil sie es dir nicht vergelten können, wird es dir vergolten werden in der Auferstehung der Gerechten.
and thou shalt be happy for they cannot recompence the. But thou shalt be recompensed at the resurreccion of the iuste men.
15 Als nun einer, der mit ihm zu Tische saß, solches hörte, sprach er zu ihm: Selig ist, wer das Brot ißt im Reiche Gottes!
When one of them that sate at meate also hearde that he sayde vnto him: happy is he that eateth breed in the kyngdome of God.
16 Er aber sprach zu ihm: Ein Mensch machte ein großes Mahl und lud viele dazu.
Then sayd he to him. A certayne man ordened a greate supper and bade many
17 Und er sandte seinen Knecht zur Stunde des Mahles, den Geladenen zu sagen: Kommet, denn es ist schon alles bereit!
and sent his servaunt at supper tyme to saye to them that wer bidden come: for all thinges are now redy.
18 Und sie fingen alle einstimmig an, sich zu entschuldigen. Der erste sprach zu ihm: Ich habe einen Acker gekauft und bin genötigt, hinauszugehen und ihn zu besehen; ich bitte dich, entschuldige mich!
And they all atonce begane to make excuse. The fyrst sayd vnto him: I have bought a ferme and I must nedes goo and se it I praye the have me excused.
19 Und ein anderer sprach: Ich habe fünf Joch Ochsen gekauft und gehe hin, sie zu prüfen; ich bitte dich, entschuldige mich!
And another sayd: I hove bought fyve yooke of oxen and I goo to prove them I praye the have me excused.
20 Wieder ein anderer sprach: Ich habe eine Frau genommen, darum kann ich nicht kommen!
The thyrde sayd: I have maried a wyfe and therfore I cannot come.
21 Und der Knecht kam wieder und berichtete das seinem Herrn. Da wurde der Hausherr zornig und sprach zu seinem Knechte: Geh eilends hinaus auf die Gassen und Plätze der Stadt und führe die Armen und Krüppel und Lahmen und Blinden herein!
And the servaunt went and brought his master worde therof. Then was the good man of the housse displeased and sayd to his servaut: Goo out quickly into ye stretes and quarters of the cite and bringe in hidder the poore and the maymed and the halt and the blynde.
22 Und der Knecht sprach: Herr, es ist geschehen, wie du befohlen hast; es ist aber noch Raum da!
And the servaut sayd: lorde it is done as thou comaundedst and yet ther is roume.
23 Und der Herr sprach zu dem Knecht: Geh hinaus an die Landstraßen und Zäune und nötige sie hereinzukommen, damit mein Haus voll werde!
And the lorde sayd to the servaunt: Go out into ye hye wayes and hedges and compell the to come in that my housse maye be filled.
24 Denn ich sage euch, daß keiner jener Männer, die geladen waren, mein Mahl schmecken wird.
For I saye vnto you that none of those men which were bidde shall tast of my supper.
25 Es zog aber eine große Volksmenge mit ihm, und er wandte sich um und sprach zu ihnen:
Ther went agreate copany with him and he turned and sayde vnto them:
26 Wenn jemand zu mir kommt und nicht seinen Vater und die Mutter, Weib und Kinder, Brüder und Schwestern haßt, dazu aber auch seine eigene Seele, der kann nicht mein Jünger sein.
If a man come to me and hate not his father and mother and wyfe and chyldren and brethren and sisters more over and his awne lyfe he cannot be my disciple.
27 Und wer nicht sein Kreuz trägt und hinter mir her kommt, der kann nicht mein Jünger sein.
And whosoever beare not his crosse and come after me cannot be my disciple.
28 Denn wer von euch, der einen Turm bauen will, setzt sich nicht zuvor hin und berechnet die Kosten, ob er genug habe zur gänzlichen Ausführung,
Which of you disposed to bilde a toure sytteth not doune before and counteth ye cost whether he have sufficient to performe it?
29 damit nicht etwa, wenn er den Grund gelegt hat und es nicht zu vollenden vermag, alle, die es sehen, anfangen, über ihn zu spotten
lest after he hath layde ye foundacion and is not able to performe it all yt beholde it beginne to mocke him
30 und zu sagen: Dieser Mensch fing an zu bauen und vermochte es nicht zu vollenden!
sayinge: this man beganne to bilde and was not able to make an ende.
31 Oder welcher König, der auszieht, um mit einem andern König Krieg zu führen, setzt sich nicht zuvor hin und berät, ob er imstande sei, mit zehntausend dem zu begegnen, der mit zwanzigtausend gegen ihn anrückt?
Or what kynge goeth to make batayle agaynst another kinge and sitteth not doune fyrst and casteth in his mynde whether he be able wt ten thousande to mete him that cometh agaynst him wt. xx thousand.
32 Wenn aber nicht, so sendet er, solange jener noch fern ist, eine Botschaft und bittet um die Friedensbedingungen.
Or els whyll ye other is yet a greate waye of he will sende embasseatours and desyre peace.
33 So kann auch keiner von euch, der nicht allem entsagt, was er hat, mein Jünger sein.
So lykewyse none of you yt forsaketh not all yt he hath can be my disciple.
34 Das Salz ist gut; wenn aber auch das Salz fade wird, womit soll es gewürzt werden?
Salt is good but yf salt have loste hyr saltnes what shall be seasoned ther with?
35 Es ist weder für das Erdreich, noch für den Dünger tauglich; man wirft es hinaus. Wer Ohren hat zu hören, der höre!
It is nether good for ye londe nor yet for ye donge hill but men cast it out at ye dores. He yt hath eares to heare let him heare.
