Josua 6
1 Jericho aber war verschlossen und verriegelt vor den Kindern Israel; so daß niemand heraus oder hineingehen konnte.
(And Jericho shutteth itself up, and is shut up, because of the presence of the sons of Israel — none going out, and none coming in; )
2 Und der HERR sprach zu Josua: Siehe da, ich habe Jericho samt seinem Könige und den streitbaren Männern in deine Hand gegeben.
And Jehovah saith unto Joshua, 'See, I have given into thy hand Jericho and its king — mighty ones of valour,
3 Darum lasse alle eure Kriegsleute rings um die Stadt marschieren, so daß sie die Stadt einmal umziehen, und tue sechs Tage also.
and ye have compassed the city — all the men of battle — going round the city once; thus thou dost six days;
4 Und sieben Priester sollen sieben Jubeljahrsposaunen vor der Lade tragen; und am siebenten Tage sollt ihr siebenmal um die Stadt ziehen, und die Priester sollen die Posaunen blasen.
and seven priests do bear seven trumpets of the jubilee before the ark, and on the seventh day ye compass the city seven times, and the priests blow with the trumpets,
5 Und wenn man das Horn des Jubeljahres bläst und ihr den Ton der Posaune hört, so soll das ganze Volk ein großes Feldgeschrei erheben; so werden die Stadtmauern in sich zusammenstürzen, und das Volk soll sie ersteigen, ein jeder stracks vor sich hin!
and it hath been, in the prolongation of the horn of the jubilee, in your hearing the voice of the trumpet, all the people shout — a great shout, and the wall of the city hath fallen under it, and the people have gone up, each over-against him.'
6 Da rief Josua, der Sohn Nuns, den Priestern und sprach zu ihnen: Traget die Lade des Bundes und lasset sieben Priester die sieben Jubeljahrsposaunen vor der Lade des HERRN tragen!
And Joshua son of Nun calleth unto the priests, and saith unto them, 'Bear ye the ark of the covenant, and seven priests do bear seven trumpets of the jubilee before the ark of Jehovah;'
7 Zum Volke aber sprach er: Machet euch auf und umzieht die Stadt, und die Gerüsteten sollen vor der Lade des HERRN hergehen!
and He said unto the people, 'Pass over, and compass the city, and he who is armed doth pass over before the ark of Jehovah.'
8 Als Josua solches zum Volk gesagt hatte, zogen die sieben Priester, welche die sieben Jubeljahrsposaunen vor dem HERRN hertrugen, und bliesen die Posaunen, und die Lade des Bundes folgte ihnen nach.
And it cometh to pass, when Joshua speaketh unto the people, that the seven priests bearing seven trumpets of the jubilee before Jehovah have passed over and blown with the trumpets, and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah is going after them;
9 Und die Gerüsteten schritten vor den Priestern her, welche die Posaunen bliesen, und die Nachhut folgte der Lade nach, und sie bliesen beständig die Posaunen.
and he who is armed is going before the priests blowing the trumpets, and he who is gathering up is going after the ark, going on and blowing with the trumpets;
10 Josua aber gebot dem Volke und sprach: Ihr sollt kein Kriegsgeschrei erheben, noch eure Stimme hören lassen; auch soll kein Wort aus eurem Munde gehen bis zu dem Tag, da ich zu euch sagen werde: «Erhebet ein Feldgeschrei!», alsdann erhebet ein Feldgeschrei!
and the people hath Joshua commanded, saying, 'Ye do not shout, nor cause your voice to be heard, nor doth there go out from your mouth a word, till the day of my saying unto you, Shout ye — then ye have shouted.'
11 Also ging die Lade des HERRN einmal rings um die Stadt, und sie kamen wieder in das Lager und blieben darin über Nacht.
And the ark of Jehovah doth compass the city, going round once, and they come into the camp, and lodge in the camp.
12 Da stand Josua am Morgen früh auf, und die Priester trugen die Lade des HERRN,
And Joshua riseth early in the morning, and the priests bear the ark of Jehovah,
13 auch trugen die sieben Priester die sieben Jubeljahrsposaunen vor der Lade des HERRN her und bliesen im Gehen beständig die Posaunen, und die Gerüsteten gingen vor ihnen her, aber die Nachhut folgte der Lade des HERRN, und sie bliesen beständig die Posaunen.
and seven priests bearing seven trumpets of the jubilee before the ark of Jehovah are walking, going on, and they have blown with the trumpets — and he who is armed is going before them, and he who is gathering up is going behind the ark of Jehovah — going on and blowing with the trumpets.
14 Am zweiten Tage zogen sie auch einmal um die Stadt und kamen wieder ins Lager. Also taten sie sechs Tage lang.
And they compass the city on the second day once, and turn back to the camp; thus they have done six days.
15 Am siebenten Tage aber, als die Morgenröte anbrach, machten sie sich früh auf und zogen nach derselben Weise siebenmal um die Stadt; nur an diesem Tage gingen sie siebenmal um die Stadt.
And it cometh to pass, on the seventh day, that they rise early, at the ascending of the dawn, and compass the city, according to this manner, seven times; (only, on that day they have compassed the city seven times);
16 Und beim siebenten Mal, als die Priester die Posaunen bliesen, sprach Josua zum Volk: Erhebet ein Feldgeschrei; denn der HERR hat euch die Stadt gegeben!
and it cometh to pass, at the seventh time, the priests have blown with the trumpets, and Joshua saith unto the people, 'Shout ye, for Jehovah hath given to you the city;
17 Aber diese Stadt und alles, was darin ist, soll dem Bann des HERRN verfallen sein; nur die Dirne Rahab soll lebendig bleiben, sie und alle, die bei ihr im Hause sind; denn sie hat die Boten verborgen, die wir aussandten.
and the city hath been devoted, it and all that [is] in it, to Jehovah; only Rahab the harlot doth live, she and all who [are] with her in the house, for she hid the messengers whom we sent;
18 Ihr aber hütet euch vor dem Gebannten, damit ihr nicht, nachdem ihr es gebannt habt, doch von dem Gebannten etwas nehmet und über das Lager Israels einen Bann bringet und es ins Unglück komme.
and surely ye have kept from the devoted thing, lest ye devote [yourselves], and have taken from the devoted thing, and have made the camp of Israel become a devoted thing, and have troubled it;
19 Aber alles Silber und Gold nebst den ehernen und eisernen Geräten soll dem HERRN geheiligt sein, daß es zum Schatz des HERRN komme.
and all the silver and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, holy they [are] to Jehovah; into the treasury of Jehovah they come.'
20 Da erhob das Volk ein Feldgeschrei, und die Priester bliesen die Posaunen. Als nun das Volk den Schall der Posaunen hörte und ein großes Feldgeschrei erhob, stürzte die Mauer in sich zusammen, und das Volk erstieg die Stadt, ein jeder stracks vor sich hin. Also gewannen sie die Stadt.
And the people shout, and blow with the trumpets, and it cometh to pass when the people hear the voice of the trumpet, that the people shout — a great shout, and the wall falleth under it, and the people goeth up into the city, each over-against him, and they capture the city;
21 Und sie vollstreckten den Bann an allem, was in der Stadt war, mit der Schärfe des Schwertes, an Männern und Weibern, Jungen und Alten, Ochsen, Schafen und Eseln.
and they devote all that [is] in the city, from man even unto woman, from young even unto aged, even unto ox, and sheep, and ass, by the mouth of the sword.
22 Aber Josua sprach zu den beiden Männern, die das Land ausgekundschaftet hatten: Gehet in das Haus der Dirne und führet das Weib von dannen heraus samt allem, was sie hat, wie ihr derselben geschworen habt!
And to the two men who are spying the land Joshua said, 'Go into the house of the woman, the harlot, and bring out thence the woman, and all whom she hath, as ye have sworn to her.'
23 Da gingen die Jünglinge, die Kundschafter, hinein und führten Rahab heraus; sie führten auch ihren Vater und ihre Mutter und ihre Brüder und alles, was sie hatte, samt ihrem ganzen Geschlecht, hinaus und ließen sie draußen bleiben vor dem Lager Israels.
And the young man, the spies, go in and bring out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all whom she hath; yea, all her families they have brought out, and place them at the outside of the camp of Israel.
24 Aber die Stadt und alles, was darin war, verbrannten sie mit Feuer; nur das Silber und Gold und das eherne und eiserne Geräte taten sie zum Schatz in das Haus des HERRN.
And the city they have burnt with fire, and all that [is] in it; only, the silver and the gold, and the vessels of brass, and of iron, they have given [to] the treasury of the house of Jehovah;
25 Also ließ Josua die Dirne Rahab leben samt dem Hause ihres Vaters und allen ihren Angehörigen; und sie wohnte in Israel bis auf diesen Tag, weil sie die Boten verborgen hatte, die Josua gesandt, um Jericho auszukundschaften.
and Rahab the harlot, and the house of her father, and all whom she hath, hath Joshua kept alive; and she dwelleth in the midst of Israel unto this day, for she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
26 Zu der Zeit schwur Josua und sprach: Verflucht sei der Mann vor dem HERRN, welcher sich aufmachen und diese Stadt Jericho bauen wird; wenn er ihren Grund legt, koste es ihn seinen erstgeborenen Sohn, und wenn er ihre Tore setzt, koste es ihn seinen jüngsten Sohn!
And Joshua adjureth [them] at that time, saying, 'Cursed [is] the man before Jehovah who raiseth up and hath built this city, [even] Jericho; in his first-born he doth lay its foundation, and in his youngest he doth set up its doors;'
27 Also war der HERR mit Josua, daß man in allen Ländern von ihm sprach.
and Jehovah is with Joshua, and his fame is in all the land.
