Jeremia 45

1 Das Wort, welches der Prophet Jeremia zu Baruch, dem Sohne Nerijas, sprach, als dieser im vierten Jahre Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, diese Worte nach dem Diktat Jeremias in ein Buch schrieb, lautet also:

The word which Jeremiah the prophet spake, unto Baruch son of Neriah, —when he had written these words upon a book, from the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah saying—

2 So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, zu dir, Baruch:

Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Unto thee, O Baruch, —

3 Du hast gesagt: «O wehe mir, der HERR hat zu meinem Schmerz noch Kummer hinzugefügt! Ich bin müde vom Seufzen und finde keine Ruhe!»

Thou didst say, Surely woe to me! For Yahweh hath added sorrow unto my pain, —I am weary with my moaning, And rest, have I not found!

4 Sage zu ihm: So spricht der HERR: Siehe, was ich gebaut habe, das breche ich ab, und was ich gepflanzt habe, das reiße ich aus, und zwar das ganze Land!

Thus, shalt thou say unto him Thus, saith Yahweh, —Lo! what I had built, I am pulling down, And what I had planted, I am rooting up, —And that is, all the land:

5 Und du begehrst für dich Großes? Begehre es nicht! Denn siehe, ich bringe Unglück über alles Fleisch, spricht der HERR; aber dir will ich dein Leben zur Beute geben allenthalben, wohin du gehen wirst.

Wouldst, thou, then seek to secure for thyself great things? Do not seek! For behold me! bringing in calamity upon all flesh, Declareth Yahweh, Nevertheless I will give thee thine own life as a spoil, in all places whithersoever thou goest.
