Jeremia 11
1 Das Wort, das vom HERRN an Jeremia erging, lautete also:
The word that came unto Jeremiah from Yahweh saying:
2 Höret die Worte dieses Bundes und saget sie den Männern von Juda und den Einwohnern von Jerusalem und sprich zu ihnen:
Hear ye the words of this covenant, —and speak ye unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
3 So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Verflucht ist der Mann, der auf die Worte dieses Bundes nicht hört,
and say thou unto them, Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, —Accursed, is the man who will not hear the words of this covenant;
4 welche ich euren Vätern geboten habe zur Zeit, als ich sie aus Ägyptenland, dem eisernen Schmelzofen, führte, indem ich sprach: Seid meiner Stimme gehorsam und tut darnach, ganz wie ich euch gebiete, so sollt ihr mein Volk sein, und ich will euer Gott sein!
which I commanded your fathers—in the day when I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt out of the smelting-pot of iron—saying, Hearken unto my voice and do them, According to all that I may command you, —So shall ye become my people, And, I, will become, your God:
5 damit ich den Eid aufrechterhalte, den ich euren Vätern geschworen habe, ihnen ein Land zu geben, das von Milch und Honig fließt, wie es heutigen Tages der Fall ist. Da antwortete ich und sprach: So sei es, HERR!
That the oath may be established which I sware to your fathers, To give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as at this day. Then answered I and said, Amen, O Yahweh!
6 Darauf sprach der HERR zu mir: Verkündige alle diese Worte in den Städten Judas und auf den Gassen zu Jerusalem und sprich: Höret die Worte dieses Bundes und befolget sie!
And Yahweh said unto me, —Proclaim thou all, these words, throughout the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem saying, —Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them,
7 Denn ich habe euren Vätern ernstlich bezeugt von dem Tage an, als ich sie aus dem Lande Ägypten heraufführte, bis auf diesen Tag; frühe und fleißig habe ich ihnen bezeugt und gesagt: Gehorchet meiner Stimme!
For I, solemnly took your fathers to witness, in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt—even until this day, betimes, taking them to witness saying, —Hearken ye unto my voice.
8 Aber sie haben nicht gehorcht; sie haben mir kein Gehör geschenkt, sondern wandelten nach dem Starrsinn ihres bösen Herzens; darum will ich alle Worte dieses Bundes über sie bringen, welchen zu halten ich ihnen befohlen habe, den sie aber nicht gehalten haben.
Howbeit they hearkened not neither inclined their ear, but walked severally in the stubbornness of their wicked heart, —so then I brought upon them all the words of this covenant which I commanded them to do, but they did them not.
9 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Es besteht eine Verschwörung unter den Männern von Juda und den Bewohnern von Jerusalem.
Yahweh therefore said unto me, —There is found a conspiracy, among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem:
10 Sie sind zu den Sünden ihrer Vorväter zurückgekehrt, welche meinen Worten nicht gehorchen wollten; sie sind auch fremden Göttern nachgefolgt und haben ihnen gedient. Das Haus Israel und das Haus Juda haben meinen Bund gebrochen, den ich mit ihren Vätern geschlossen habe.
They have turned back unto the iniquities of their first fathers who refused to hear my words, yea, they themselves, have walked after other gods to serve them, —the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I solemnised with their fathers.
11 Darum spricht der HERR also: Siehe, ich will Unheil über sie bringen, welchem sie nicht werden entrinnen können; und wenn sie dann zu mir schreien, werde ich sie nicht erhören.
Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh, Behold me! bringing upon them calamity, which they shall not be able to escape, —and though they make outcry unto me, yet will I not hearken unto them.
12 Alsdann werden die Städte Judas und die Bewohner Jerusalems hingehen und die Götter anrufen, denen sie geräuchert haben, aber sie werden ihnen zur Zeit ihres Unglücks keineswegs helfen können.
Then shall the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, go and make outcry unto the gods to whom they have been burning incense, —but they will not at all, save, them in the time of their calamity;
13 Denn so viele Städte du hast, Juda, so viele Götter hast du auch, und so viele Gassen in Jerusalem sind, so viele Altäre habt ihr der Schande errichtet, Altäre, um dem Baal zu räuchern.
for according to the number of thy cities, have become thy gods O Judah, —and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem, have ye set up altars to the Shameful thing, altars for burning incense to Baal.
14 Du aber sollst für dieses Volk nicht beten und für sie weder Klage noch Fürbitte anheben, denn ich werde keineswegs erhören, wenn sie zur Zeit des Unglücks zu mir rufen werden.
Thou, therefore do not pray for this people, Neither lift thou up for them cry or prayer, —For I am not going to hear in the time that they cry unto me concerning their calamity.
15 Was hat mein Geliebter in meinem Hause böse Anschläge auszuführen? Können Gelübde und Opferfleisch deine Bosheit von dir wegtun, daß du alsdann frohlocken kannst?
Why hath the beloved in mine own house, done an abomination? Shall, vows and holy flesh, take away from thee thy wickednesses, or shalt thou by these, escape?
16 «Einen grünen Olivenbaum mit schöner, wohlgestalteter Frucht» hat dich der HERR genannt. Mit mächtigem Brausen zündet das Feuer seine Blätter an, und seine Äste krachen.
A green olive-tree, fair with goodly fruit, did Yahweh call thy name, —with the noise of a great tumult, hath he kindled fire upon it, and the branches thereof shall be broken.
17 Denn der HERR der Heerscharen, der dich gepflanzt, hat dir Schlimmes angedroht wegen der Bosheit des Hauses Israel und des Hauses Juda, die sie verübt haben, um mich zu erzürnen, indem sie dem Baal räucherten.
But, Yahweh of hosts, who planted thee hath pronounced against thee calamity, —on account of the wickedness of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah which they have wrought for themselves, provoking me to anger by burning incense to Baal.
18 Und der HERR hat mir solches kundgetan, also daß ich es erkannte; damals hast du mir ihr Treiben offenbart.
Now when Yahweh, let me know and I did know, then, didst thou shew me their doings.
19 Ich aber war wie ein zahmes Lamm, das zur Schlachtbank geführt wird, und wußte nicht, daß sie solche Anschläge wider mich schmiedeten: «Laßt uns den Baum samt seiner Frucht verderben und ihn aus dem Lande der Lebendigen ausrotten, daß seines Namens nimmermehr gedacht werde!»
But, I, was as a gentle lamb that is to be led to the slaughter, —and I knew not that against me, they had devised devices [saying] —Let us destroy the tree with its fruit Yea let us cut him off out of the land of the living, And, his name, shall be remembered no more!
20 O HERR der Heerscharen, du gerechter Richter, der du Nieren und Herzen prüfst: Laß mich deine Rache an ihnen sehen; denn dir habe ich mein Anliegen übertragen!
But, O Yahweh of hosts Who judgest righteously, Who triest affections and intellect, —Let me see thine avenging upon them, For unto thee, have I revealed my cause.
21 Darauf hat der HERR also gesprochen in betreff der Männer zu Anatot, die dir nach dem Leben trachten und sagen: «Du sollst uns nicht mehr im Namen des HERRN weissagen, sonst mußt du durch unsere Hand sterben!»
Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh Concerning the men of Anathoth, who are seeking thy life, saying, —Thou shalt not prophesy in the name of Yahweh, So shalt thou not die by our hand:
22 Darum hat der HERR der Heerscharen also gesprochen: Siehe, ich will sie strafen; die jungen Männer sollen durchs Schwert umkommen, und ihre Söhne und Töchter sollen Hungers sterben,
Therefore, Thus saith Yahweh of hosts, —Behold me! bringing punishment upon them, The young men, shall die by the sword, Their sons and their daughters, shall die by famine;
23 also daß niemand von ihnen übrigbleibt; denn ich will Unglück über die Männer von Anatot bringen im Jahre ihrer Heimsuchung!
And remnant, shall they have none, —For I will bring calamity against the men of Anathoth, in the year of their visitation.
