Jesaja 9
1 Doch bleibt nicht im Dunkel das Land, das bedrängt ist. Wie er in der ersten Zeit das Land Sebulon und das Land Naphtali gering machte, so wird er in der Folgezeit zu Ehren bringen den Weg am Meere, jenseits des Jordan, das Galiläa der Heiden.
Yet the darkenesse shall not be according to the affliction that it had when at the first hee touched lightly the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, nor afteward when he was more grieuous by the way of the sea beyond Iorden in Galile of the Gentiles.
2 Das Volk, das in der Finsternis wandelt, sieht ein großes Licht, über den Bewohnern des Landes der Todesschatten geht eine Leuchte auf.
The people that walked in darkenes haue seene a great light: they that dwelled in the land of the shadowe of death, vpon them hath the light shined.
3 Du machst des Jubels viel, du machst seine Freude groß; sie werden sich vor dir freuen, wie man sich in der Ernte freut, wie die Sieger jubeln, wenn sie Beute teilen.
Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased their ioye: they haue reioyced before thee according to the ioye in haruest, and as men reioyce when they deuide a spoyle.
4 Denn du hast das Joch, das auf ihm lastete, den Stecken, der seinen Rücken geschlagen hat, und die Rute seines Treibers zerbrochen wie am Tage Midians.
For the yoke of their burthen, and the staffe of their shoulder and the rod of their oppressour hast thou broken as in the day of Midian.
5 Denn jeder Stiefel derer, die gestiefelt einhertreten im Schlachtgetümmel, und jedes blutbefleckte Kleid wird verbrannt und vom Feuer verzehrt.
Surely euery battell of the warriour is with noyse, and with tumbling of garments in blood: but this shall be with burning and deuouring of fire.
6 Denn uns ist ein Kind geboren, ein Sohn ist uns gegeben; und die Herrschaft kommt auf seine Schulter; und man nennt ihn: Wunderbar, Rat, starker Gott, Ewigvater, Friedefürst.
For vnto vs a childe is borne, and vnto vs a Sonne is giuen: and the gouernement is vpon his shoulder, and he shall call his name Wonderfull, Counseller, The mightie God, The euerlasting Father, The prince of peace,
7 Der Mehrung der Herrschaft und des Friedens wird kein Ende sein auf dem Throne Davids und in seinem Königreich, daß er es gründe und mit Recht und Gerechtigkeit befestige von nun an bis in Ewigkeit. Der Eifer des HERRN der Heerscharen wird solches tun!
The increase of his gouernement and peace shall haue none end: he shall sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and vpon his kingdome, to order it, and to stablish it with iudgement and with iustice, from hencefoorth, euen for euer: the zeale of the Lord of hostes will performe this.
8 Ein Wort hat der Herr gegen Jakob gesandt, und es soll in Israel niederfallen.
The Lord hath sent a worde into Iaakob, and it hath lighted vpon Israel.
9 Erfahren soll es das ganze Volk, Ephraim und die zu Samaria wohnen; die im Stolz und Übermut des Herzens sagen:
And all the people shall knowe, euen Ephraim, and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and presumption of the heart,
10 Ziegelsteine sind gefallen, wir aber wollen mit Quadern bauen; Maulbeerbäume wurden abgehauen, wir aber wollen Zedern dafür setzen!
The brickes are fallen, but we will build it with hewen stones: the wilde figge trees are cut downe, but we will change them into ceders.
11 Doch der HERR hat die Feinde Rezins über ihn erhöht und seine Gegner aufgestachelt;
Neuerthelesse the Lord will raise vp the aduersaries of Rezin against him, and ioyne his enemies together.
12 die Syrer von vorn und die Philister von hinten fraßen Israel mit vollem Maul. Bei alledem hat sich sein Zorn nicht gewandt, seine Hand bleibt ausgestreckt.
Aram before and the Philistims behinde, and they shall deuoure Israel with open mouth: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
13 Denn auch das Volk hat sich nicht zu dem gewandt, der es schlägt, und es suchte den HERRN der Heerscharen nicht.
For the people turneth not vnto him that smiteth them, neither doe they seeke the Lord of hostes.
14 Da hieb der HERR von Israel ab Kopf und Schwanz, Palmzweig und Binse an einem Tage.
Therefore will the Lord cut off from Israel head and taile, branche and rush in one day.
15 Der Älteste und Angesehene ist der Kopf, und der Prophet, welcher Lügen lehrt, der Schwanz.
The ancient and the honorable man, he is the head: and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the taile.
16 Die Führer dieses Volkes sind seine Verführer geworden, und die von ihnen Geführten sind verloren.
For the leaders of the people cause them to erre: and they that are led by them are deuoured.
17 Darum freut sich auch der Herr nicht über ihre junge Mannschaft und hat kein Erbarmen mit ihren Waisen und Witwen; denn sie sind alle Frevler und Bösewichter, und jeder Mund redet Torheit! Bei alledem hat sich sein Zorn nicht gewandt, seine Hand bleibt ausgestreckt.
Therefore shall the Lord haue no pleasure in their yong men, neither will he haue compassion of their fatherlesse and of their widowes: for euery one is an hypocrite and wicked, and euery mouth speaketh follie: yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out stil.
18 Denn das gottlose Wesen brannte wie ein Feuer, das Hecken und Dornen fraß und die dichten Wälder anzündete, daß Rauchsäulen emporwirbelten.
For wickednesse burneth as a fire: it deuoureth the briers and the thornes and will kindle in the thicke places of the forest: and they shall mount vp like the lifting vp of smoke.
19 Durch den Zorn des HERRN ist das Land wie ausgebrannt und das Volk wie vom Feuer verzehrt; keiner schont des andern.
By the wrath of the Lord of hostes shall the land be darkened, and the people shall be as the meate of ye fire: no man shall spare his brother.
20 Man verschlingt zur Rechten und bleibt hungrig, man frißt zur Linken und wird nicht satt; schließlich frißt noch jeder das Fleisch seines eigenen Arms,
And he shall snatch at the right hand, and be hungrie: and he shall eate on the left hand, and shall not be satisfied: euery one shall eate ye flesh of his owne arme.
21 Manasse den Ephraim und Ephraim den Manasse und diese beiden den Juda! Bei alledem hat sich sein Zorn nicht abgewandt; seine Hand bleibt ausgestreckt!
Manasseh, Ephraim: and Ephraim Manasseh, and they both shall be against Iudah yet for all this his wrath is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
