Jesaja 33
1 Wehe dir, du Verwüster, der doch selbst nicht verwüstet worden ist, du Räuber, den man doch nicht beraubt hat! Wenn du dein Verwüsten vollendet haben wirst, sollst auch du verwüstet werden; wenn du deinen Raub erlangt hast, wird man dich berauben!
Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! When thou hast ceased to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou art weary with dealing treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
2 HERR, erbarme dich unser! Wir harren auf dich! Sei du alle Morgen unser Arm, ja, sei du unser Heil zur Zeit der Not!
O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for Thee; be Thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
3 Die Völker werden vor deiner Donnerstimme fliehen und die Heiden, wenn du dich erhebst, zerstreut werden.
At the noise of the tumult the peoples are fled; at the lifting up of Thyself the nations are scattered.
4 Da wird man eure Beute sammeln, wie die Heuschrecken zusammenraffen; wie die Käfer rennen, so läuft man darauf los.
And your spoil is gathered as the caterpillar gathereth; as locusts leap do they leap upon it.
5 Der HERR ist erhaben; er wohnt in der Höhe; er hat Zion mit Recht und Gerechtigkeit erfüllt.
The LORD is exalted, for He dwelleth on high; He hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
6 Und deine Zeiten werden gesichert sein, eine Fülle von Heil, Weisheit und Erkenntnis; die Furcht des HERRN ist ihr Schatz.
And the stability of thy times shall be a hoard of salvation — wisdom and knowledge, and the fear of the LORD which is His treasure.
7 Siehe, ihre Helden schreien draußen, die Friedensboten weinen bitterlich.
Behold, their valiant ones cry without; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.
8 Die Straßen sind verödet, der Wandersmann feiert. Sie haben den Bund gebrochen, die Städte mißhandelt, achten die Menschen für nichts!
The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth; he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth not man.
9 Es trauert und welkt das Land, der Libanon schämt sich, er stirbt ab; Saron ist einer Wüste gleich, Basan und Karmel sind entblättert.
The land mourneth and languisheth; Lebanon is ashamed, it withereth; Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel are clean bare.
10 Nun will ich mich aufmachen, spricht der HERR, jetzt will ich mich erheben, jetzt will ich mich aufrichten!
Now will I arise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift Myself up.
11 Ihr werdet Stoppeln empfangen und Stroh gebären; ihr blaset ein Feuer an, das euch selbst verzehrt!
Ye conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble; your breath is a fire that shall devour you.
12 Die Völker sollen zu Kalk verbrannt und wie abgehauene Dornen vom Feuer angezündet werden.
And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime; as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.
13 Höret ihr, die ihr ferne seid, was ich tue, und die ihr nahe seid, erkennet meine Stärke.
Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge My might.
14 Die Sünder zu Zion sind erschrocken, Zittern hat die Heuchler ergriffen: Wer von uns kann bei einem verzehrenden Feuer wohnen, wer von uns kann bei der ewigen Glut bleiben?
The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling hath seized the ungodly: 'Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?'
15 Wer in Gerechtigkeit wandelt und aufrichtig redet; wer verschmäht, durch Bedrückung Gewinn zu machen; wer seine Hände abzieht, daß er keine Bestechung nehme; wer seine Ohren verstopft, daß er nicht von Blutvergießen höre; wer seine Augen zuschließt, daß er Böses nicht ansehe;
He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from looking upon evil;
16 der wird in der Höhe wohnen, eine Felsenfeste ist seine Burg, sein Brot wird ihm gegeben, sein Wasser versiegt nie.
He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given, his waters shall be sure.
17 Deine Augen werden den König sehen in seiner Schönheit, du wirst das Land erweitert sehen.
Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty; they shall behold a land stretching afar.
18 Dein Herz wird in Gedanken an die Schreckenszeit sagen: Wo ist nun, der das Gold zählte? wo, der es abwog? wo, der die Türme zählte?
Thy heart shall muse on the terror: 'Where is he that counted, where is he that weighed? Where is he that counted the towers?'
19 Da wirst du das freche Volk nicht mehr sehen, das Volk mit der tiefen, unverständlichen Rede und mit der stotternden Sprache, die man nicht verstehen kann.
Thou shalt not see the fierce people; a people of a deep speech that thou canst not perceive, of a stammering tongue that thou canst not understand.
20 Schaue Zion an, die Stadt unsrer Zusammenkunft! Deine Augen werden Jerusalem sehen als eine sichere Wohnung, als ein Zelt, das nicht mehr wandert, dessen Pfähle nimmermehr ausgezogen werden und von dessen Seilen keines je losgerissen wird.
Look upon Zion, the city of our solemn gatherings; thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a peaceful habitation, a tent that shall not be removed, the stakes whereof shall never be plucked up, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
21 Denn dort wird der HERR in seiner Herrlichkeit bei uns sein, statt der Flüsse, der breiten Ströme; gegen ihn wird kein Kriegsschiff kommen und kein mächtiges Ruderboot sich herüberwagen.
But there the LORD will be with us in majesty, in a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
22 Denn der HERR ist unser Richter, der HERR ist unser Gesetzgeber, der HERR ist unser König; er wird uns retten!
For the LORD is our Judge, the LORD is our Lawgiver, the LORD is our King; He will save us.
23 Deine Seile sind locker geworden, daß sie weder ihren Mastbaum festhalten noch die Flagge ausbreiten können! Alsdann wird Raub in Menge ausgeteilt werden, so daß auch die Lahmen Beute machen.
Thy tacklings are loosed; they do not hold the stand of their mast, they do not spread the sail; then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.
24 Und kein Einwohner wird sagen: «Ich bin schwach!» Dem Volk, das darin wohnt, ist die Sünde vergeben.
And the inhabitant shall not say: 'I am sick'; the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
