Jesaja 25
1 O HERR, du bist mein Gott; dich will ich erheben! Ich lobe deinen Namen; denn du hast Wunder getan; die Ratschlüsse von alters her sind wahr und beständig!
O Jehovah, thou art my God; I will exalt thee; I will praise thy name, For thou hast done wonderful things; Thine ancient purposes are faithfulness and truth.
2 Denn du hast die Stadt zum Steinhaufen gemacht, die feste Burg zum Trümmerhaufen, den Palast der Fremden zu einer gewesenen Stadt; ewiglich werden sie nicht mehr aufgebaut werden.
Thou hast made the city a heap; The fortified city a ruin. The palace of the barbarians is to be no more a city! It shall never be built again.
3 Darum ehrt dich auch ein mächtiges Volk, die Städte gewalttätiger Nationen fürchten dich;
Therefore shall mighty kingdoms praise thee; The cities of the terrible nations shall honor thee;
4 denn du bist dem Schwachen eine Feste geworden, eine Zuflucht dem Armen in seiner Not, ein Schirm vor dem Platzregen, ein Schatten vor der Hitze, als der Zornhauch der Tyrannen war wie ein Unwetter gegen eine Wand.
For thou hast been a defence to the poor; A defence to the needy in his distress; A refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, When the rage of tyrants was like a storm against a wall.
5 Wie Sonnenbrand in trockenem Land, so dämpfst du der Fremden Toben, wie Sonnenbrand durch der Wolke Schatten, so legt sich der Jubel der Tyrannen.
As heat in a dry land is made to vanish, So thou puttest down the tumult of the barbarians; As heat is allayed by a thick cloud, So the triumph of the tyrants is brought low.
6 Und es wird der HERR der Heerscharen auf diesem Berge allen Völkern ein Mahl bereiten, ein fettes Mahl, ein Mahl von alten Weinen, von fetten, markigen Speisen, von alten geläuterten Weinen.
Then in this mountain shall Jehovah of hosts prepare for all nations A feast of fat things, and wines kept on the lees; Of fat things full of marrow, of wines kept on the lees well refined.
7 Auch wird er auf diesem Berge die Schleierhülle wegnehmen, die alle Völker verhüllt, und die Decke, womit alle Nationen bedeckt sind.
He will destroy in this mountain the covering that was cast over all people, And the veil that was spread over all nations.
8 Er wird den Tod auf ewig verschlingen. Gott der HERR wird die Tränen von allen Angesichtern abwischen und die Schmach seines Volkes von der ganzen Erde hinwegnehmen! Ja, der HERR hat es verheißen.
He will destroy death forever; The Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces, And the reproach of his people will he take away from the whole earth; For Jehovah hath said it.
9 Zu jener Zeit wird man sagen: Seht, das ist unser Gott, auf den wir gehofft haben, daß er uns Heil verschaffe; das ist der HERR, auf den wir warteten; nun lasset uns frohlocken und fröhlich sein in seinem Heil!
In that day shall men say, “Behold, this is our God; We waited for him, and he hath saved us; This is Jehovah, for whom we waited; Let us rejoice and exult in his salvation.”
10 Denn die Hand des HERRN ruht auf diesem Berge; Moab aber wird unter ihm zertreten werden, wie Stroh in der Mistlache zertreten wird.
For the hand of Jehovah shall rest upon this mountain, And Moab shall be trodden down in his place, As straw is trodden down in a dung-pool.
11 Und sollte es auch seine Hände ausbreiten, wie ein Schwimmer sie ausbreitet, um zu schwimmen, so wird er seinen Hochmut erniedrigen trotz der Kunstgriffe seiner Hände.
And he shall stretch out his hands in the midst of it, As the swimmer stretcheth out his hands to swim, But God shall put down his pride, Together with the devices of his hands.
12 Deine festen, hohen Mauern wird er erniedrigen, beugen und zu Boden werfen bis in den Staub.
And the high bulwarks of thy walls will he lay low; He will bring them down to the ground; he will lay them in the dust.
