Jesaja 19

1 Weissagung wider Ägypten: Siehe, der HERR fährt auf einer schnellen Wolke und kommt nach Ägypten! Da werden die ägyptischen Götzen vor ihm beben, und das Herz wird den Ägyptern im Leibe vergehen.

The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.

2 Und ich will die Ägypter gegeneinander aufstacheln, daß ein Bruder gegen den andern, ein Freund gegen den andern, eine Stadt wider die andere und ein Königreich wider das andere streiten wird.

And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

3 Und der Geist wird den Ägyptern ausgehen in ihrem Innern, und ich will ihren Rat zunichte machen; alsdann werden sie die Götzen, die Zauberer, die Totenbeschwörer und die Wahrsager befragen.

And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

4 Und ich will Ägypten in die Hände eines strengen Herrn überliefern, und ein harter König soll über sie herrschen, spricht der Herr, der HERR der Heerscharen.

And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, says the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

5 Und der Wasserspiegel des Sees wird sich senken, und der Strom wird versiegen und vertrocknen.

And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.

6 Und stinkend werden die Ströme, seicht und trocken die Flüsse Unterägyptens; Rohr und Schilf verwelken.

And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.

7 Die Auen am Nil, an der Mündung des Nils, und alle Saat des Niltals wird verdorren und verwehen, daß sie nirgends mehr zu finden ist.

The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.

8 Die Fischer werden klagen, und trauern werden alle, die die Angel in den Nil werfen; und die das Garn auf dem Wasserspiegel ausbreiten, werden trostlos sein.

The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.

9 Es werden zuschanden die Leinenweber, die Hechlerinnen und die Baumwollspinner.

Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.

10 Ihre Herren sind niedergedrückt und alle Lohnarbeiter bekümmerten Herzens.

And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.

11 Nur Toren sind die Fürsten von Zoan, die weisen Räte des Pharao; ihr Ratschlag hat sich als unvernünftig erwiesen. Wie dürft ihr denn zum Pharao sagen: Ich bin ein Sohn der Weisen, ein Sohn der uralten Könige?

Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say all of you unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?

12 Wo sind denn deine Weisen? Sie sollen dir doch anzeigen und kundtun, was der HERR der Heerscharen über Ägypten beschlossen hat!

Where are they? where are your wise men? and let them tell you now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts has purposed upon Egypt.

13 Die Fürsten von Zoan sind zu Narren geworden, getäuscht sind die Fürsten zu Noph; es haben Ägypten irregeführt die Ecksteine seiner Stämme.

The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.

14 Der HERR hat einen Schwindelgeist unter sie ausgegossen, also daß sie Ägypten in all seinem Tun irreführen, wie ein Trunkener herumtaumelt, wenn es ihm übel wird.

The LORD has mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to go astray in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

15 Und Ägypten wird niemand haben, der etwas vollbringen kann, weder Haupt noch Schwanz, weder Palmzweig noch Binse.

Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.

16 Alsdann werden die Ägypter wie Weiber sein; sie werden zittern und erschrecken vor dem Erheben der Hand des HERRN der Heerscharen, die er gegen sie erheben wird.

In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shakes over it.

17 Es wird auch das Land Juda für die Ägypter ein Schrecken sein; jede Erwähnung desselben wird sie in Furcht versetzen vor dem Ratschlusse des HERRN der Heerscharen, den er gegen sie beschlossen hat.

And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that makes mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he has determined against it.

18 Zu jener Zeit werden fünf ägyptische Städte die Sprache Kanaans reden und bei dem HERRN der Heerscharen schwören; eine derselben wird Irheres heißen.

In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.

19 Zu derselben Zeit wird für den HERRN mitten im Lande Ägypten ein Altar, und hart an seiner Grenze für den HERRN eine Denksäule stehen;

In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.

20 die wird für den HERRN der Heerscharen im Lande Ägypten ein Zeichen und ein Zeugnis sein; denn sie werden zum HERRN schreien wegen ihrer Bedrücker, und er wird ihnen einen Retter und Streiter senden, der sie erlöse.

And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.

21 Und der HERR wird sich den Ägyptern zu erkennen geben, und die Ägypter werden den HERRN erkennen; sie werden Schlachtopfer und Speisopfer darbringen, sie werden dem HERRN Gelübde tun und sie auch bezahlen.

And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.

22 Also wird der HERR Ägypten schlagen und heilen, und sie werden sich zum HERRN wenden, und er wird sich von ihnen erflehen lassen und sie heilen.

And the LORD shall strike Egypt: he shall strike and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be implored of them, and shall heal them.

23 Alsdann wird von Ägypten eine gebahnte Straße nach Assyrien gehen; der Assyrer wird nach Ägypten und der Ägypter nach Assyrien kommen, und die Ägypter werden mit den Assyrern dienen.

In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.

24 Zu jener Zeit wird sich Israel als drittes zu Ägypten und Assur gesellen und inmitten der Länder ein Segen sein,

In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:

25 wozu der HERR der Heerscharen es setzt, indem er sagen wird: Gesegnet bist du, Ägypten, mein Volk, und du, Assur, meiner Hände Werk, und du, Israel, mein Erbteil!

Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
