Hosea 11
1 Als Israel jung war, liebte ich ihn, und aus Ägypten habe ich meinen Sohn berufen.
When Israel was, a child, then I loved him, —and, out of Egypt, called I my son.
2 Aber man rief sie; sofort gingen sie von mir weg. Den Baalen opferten sie, und den Bildern räucherten sie.
They invited them, —at once, they departed from before me, they, to the Baals, sacrificed, and, to the images, offered incense.
3 Und doch habe ich Ephraim gegängelt! Ich nahm sie auf meine Arme; sie aber haben nicht gemerkt, daß ich sie heilte.
Yet, I, had taught Ephraim to walk, I used to take them upon mine arms, —But they acknowledged not that I had healed them.
4 Mit menschlichen Banden zog ich sie, mit Seilen der Liebe, ich hob ihnen gleichsam das Joch auf vom Kinn und ließ sie gemütlich fressen.
With human cords, used I to draw them, with the bands of love, so became I unto them like those who remove the yoke [that was] on their jaws, —and, holding out [food] to him, I let him eat.
5 Er soll nicht nach Ägypten zurückkehren, sondern der Assyrer soll ihr König werden, weil sie nicht umkehren wollen!
He was not to turn back into the land of Egypt, Howbeit, the Assyrian—he, became his king, for they refused to turn.
6 Und das Schwert soll in ihren Städten umgehen und ihre Prahler umbringen und sie wegen ihrer Ratschläge verzehren.
Therefore shall the sword, rage, in his cities, and make an end of his multitudes, and consume them, —because of their counsels.
7 Mein Volk ist geneigt zum Abfall von mir; ruft man es nach oben, so erhebt sich gar niemand!
But, my people, are bent towards turning from me, though upwards they call them, none of them can lift them.
8 Wie könnte ich dich hergeben, Ephraim, wie könnte ich dich preisgeben, Israel? Wie könnte ich dich behandeln gleich Adma, dich machen wie Zeboim? Mein Herz sträubt sich dagegen, mein ganzes Mitleid ist erregt!
How can I give thee up, Ephraim? abandon thee Israel? How can I make thee as Admah? set thee as Zeboim? Mine own heart, turneth against me, at once, are kindled my compassions.
9 Ich will nicht tun nach meines Zornes Glut, will Ephraim nicht wiederum verderben; denn ich bin Gott und nicht ein Mensch, als der Heilige bin ich in deiner Mitte und komme nicht in grimmigem Zorn.
I cannot execute the glow of mine anger, I cannot turn to destroy Ephraim, —for, GOD, am, I, and not man, When thou drawest near, [I am] a Holy One, though I do not enter a city.
10 Sie werden dem HERRN nachfolgen, der brüllen wird wie ein Löwe; wenn er brüllt, so werden die Söhne zitternd vom Meer her kommen;
After Yahweh, let them go, Like a lion, will he roar, —When, he, shall roar, then let sons, come trembling, out of the West.
11 zitternd wie ein Vogel werden sie aus Ägypten kommen und wie eine Taube aus dem Lande Assur; und ich will sie in ihren eigenen Häusern wohnen lassen, spricht der HERR.
Let them come trembling like a small bird out of Egypt, and like a dove out of the land of Assyria, —so will I cause them to dwell by their own houses, Declareth Yahweh.
12 Ephraim hat mich mit Lügen umgangen und das Haus Israel mit Betrug; Juda aber schweift noch umher neben Gott und neben dem echten Heiligtum.
They have compassed me about—with denial, Ephraim, with deceit, the house of Israel, —but, Judah, hath, again and again, run riot with GOD, though, with the holy places, entrusted.
