1 Mose 40

1 Nach diesen Geschichten begab es sich, daß der Mundschenk des Königs von Ägypten und der oberste Bäcker sich gegen ihren Herrn, den König von Ägypten, versündigten.

And it was after the things these they sinned [the] cup bearer of [the] king of Egypt and the baker to master their to [the] king of Egypt.

2 Da ward der Pharao zornig über seine beiden Höflinge, den obersten Mundschenk und den obersten Bäcker,

And he was angry Pharaoh towards two of officials his towards [the] chief of the cup bearers and towards [the] chief of the bakers.

3 und ließ sie in Gewahrsam legen im Hause des Obersten der Leibwache, in den Kerker, in welchem Joseph gefangen lag.

And he put them in [the] custody of [the] house of [the] commander of the bodyguards into [the] house of the prison [the] place where Joseph [was] imprisoned there.

4 Und der Oberste der Leibwache übertrug Joseph die Sorge für sie, und er diente ihnen, und sie waren längere Zeit im Gefängnis.

And he appointed [the] commander of the bodyguards Joseph with them and he served them and they were days in custody.

5 Und es träumte ihnen beiden in einer Nacht, einem jeden ein Traum von besonderer Bedeutung, dem Mundschenken und dem Bäcker des Königs von Ägypten, die in dem Kerker gefangen lagen.

And they dreamed a dream both of them each own dream his in a night one each according to [the] interpretation of dream his the cup bearer and the baker who [belonged] to [the] king of Egypt who [were] imprisoned in [the] house of the prison.

6 Als nun Joseph am Morgen zu ihnen kam, sah er sie an und siehe, sie waren verdrießlich.

And he came to them Joseph in the morning and he saw them and [were] they looking dejected.

7 Da fragte er diese Höflinge des Pharao, die mit ihm im Gefängnis seines Herrn waren, und sprach: Warum macht ihr heute ein so finsteres Gesicht?

And he asked [the] officials of Pharaoh who [were] with him in [the] custody of [the] house of master his saying why? [are] faces your sad this day.

8 Sie antworteten ihm: Uns hat geträumt; und nun ist kein Ausleger da! Joseph sprach zu ihnen: Kommen nicht die Auslegungen von Gott? Erzählt mir's doch!

And they said to him a dream we dreamed and [is one who] interprets there not it and he said to them Joseph ¿ not [belong] to God [do] interpretations recount [it] please to me.

9 Da erzählte der oberste Mundschenk dem Joseph seinen Traum und sprach: In meinem Traum, siehe, da war ein Weinstock vor mir,

And he recounted [the] chief of the cup bearers dream his to Joseph and he said to him in dream my and there! a vine [was] before me.

10 und an dem Weinstock waren drei Schosse; und er grünte und blühte und seine Trauben wurden reif.

And [were] on the vine three branches and it when [it was] budding it went up blossom its they ripened clusters its grapes.

11 Ich aber hatte den Becher des Pharao in der Hand.

And [the] cup of Pharaoh [was] in hand my and I took the grapes and I squeezed them into [the] cup of Pharaoh and I put the cup on [the] palm of Pharaoh.

12 Joseph sprach zu ihm: Dies ist die Bedeutung: Die drei Schosse sind drei Tage;

And he said to him Joseph this [is] interpretation its [the] three the branches [are] three days they.

13 in drei Tagen wird der Pharao dein Haupt erheben und dich wieder in dein Amt einsetzen, daß du dem Pharao den Becher reichest, wie du früher zu tun pflegtest, da du noch sein Mundschenk warst.

In again - three days he will lift up Pharaoh head your and he will restore you to office your and you will put [the] cup of Pharaoh in hand his according to the custom former when you were cup bearer his.

14 Solltest du dann etwa an mich denken, wenn es dir gut geht, so tue Barmherzigkeit an mir und empfiehl mich dem Pharao, daß er mich aus diesem Hause entlasse;

That except you have remembered me with you when it will go well for you and you will do please with me loyalty and you will bring to remembrance me to Pharaoh and you will bring out me from the house this.

15 denn ich bin aus dem Lande der Hebräer gestohlen worden und habe auch hier gar nichts getan, wofür man mich einzusperren brauchte.

For certainly I was stolen from [the] land of the Hebrews and also here not I have done anything that they have put me in the pit.

16 Da nun der oberste Bäcker sah, daß Joseph eine gute Auslegung gegeben hatte, sprach er zu ihm: Siehe, in meinem Traum trug ich drei Körbe auf meinem Kopf,

And he saw [the] chief of the bakers that good he had interpreted and he said to Joseph also I in dream my and there! three baskets of white bread [were] on head my.

17 und im obersten Korb war allerlei Backwerk für den Pharao; und die Vögel fraßen es mir aus dem Korb, der auf meinem Haupte war.

And [was] in the basket upper some of all [the] food of Pharaoh [the] work of a baker and the bird[s] [was] eating them from the basket from on head my.

18 Da antwortete Joseph und sprach: Dies ist die Bedeutung: Die drei Körbe sind drei Tage;

And he answered Joseph and he said this [is] interpretation its [the] three the baskets [are] three days they.

19 in drei Tagen wird der Pharao dich hinrichten und ans Holz hängen lassen, daß die Vögel dein Fleisch fressen werden.

In again - three days he will lift up Pharaoh head your from on you and he will hang you on a tree and it will eat the bird[s] flesh your from on you.

20 Und es begab sich am dritten Tag, dem Geburtstag des Pharao, als er für alle seine Knechte ein Mahl veranstaltete, daß er das Haupt des obersten Mundschenken und des obersten Bäckers unter allen seinen Knechten erhob;

And it was - on the day third ([the] day of *LAH(b)*) being born Pharaoh and he made a feast for all servants his and he lifted up [the] head of - [the] chief of the cup bearers and [the] head of [the] chief of the bakers in among servants his.

21 und den obersten Mundschenken setzte er wieder ein in sein Schenkamt, daß er dem Pharao den Becher in die Hand geben durfte;

And he restored [the] chief of the cup bearers to cup bearing his and he put the cup on [the] palm of Pharaoh.

22 aber den obersten Bäcker ließ er hängen; wie Joseph ihnen gedeutet hatte.

And [the] chief of the bakers he hanged just as he had interpreted for them Joseph.

23 Aber der oberste Mundschenk dachte nicht an Joseph, sondern vergaß ihn.

And not he remembered [the] chief of the cup bearers Joseph and he forgot him.
