1 Mose 12
1 Und der HERR sprach zu Abram: Geh aus von deinem Land und von deiner Verwandtschaft und von deines Vaters Hause in das Land, das ich dir zeigen will!
And Jehovah saith unto Abram, 'Go for thyself, from thy land, and from thy kindred, and from the house of thy father, unto the land which I shew thee.
2 So will ich dich zu einem großen Volke machen und dich segnen und dir einen großen Namen machen, und du sollst ein Segen sein.
And I make thee become a great nation, and bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing.
3 Ich will segnen, die dich segnen, und verfluchen, die dir fluchen; und durch dich sollen alle Geschlechter auf Erden gesegnet werden!
And I bless those blessing thee, and him who is disesteeming thee I curse, and blessed in thee have been all families of the ground.'
4 Da ging Abram, wie der HERR zu ihm gesagt hatte, und Lot ging mit ihm; Abram aber war fünfundsiebzig Jahre alt, da er von Haran auszog.
And Abram goeth on, as Jehovah hath spoken unto him, and Lot goeth with him, and Abram [is] a son of five and seventy years in his going out from Charan.
5 Und Abram nahm sein Weib Sarai und Lot, seines Bruders Sohn, samt aller ihrer Habe, die sie erworben, und den Seelen, die sie in Haran gewonnen hatten; und sie zogen aus, um ins Land Kanaan zu gehen.
And Abram taketh Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they have gained, and the persons that they have obtained in Charan; and they go out to go towards the land of Canaan; and they come in to the land of Canaan.
6 Und als sie ins Land Kanaan kamen, durchzog Abram das Land bis zur Ortschaft Sichem, bis zur Eiche Mores; und damals waren die Kanaaniter im Lande.
And Abram passeth over into the land, unto the place Shechem, unto the oak of Moreh; and the Canaanite [is] then in the land.
7 Da erschien der HERR dem Abram und sprach: Deinem Samen will ich dies Land geben! Und er baute daselbst einen Altar dem HERRN, der ihm erschienen war.
And Jehovah appeareth unto Abram, and saith, 'To thy seed I give this land;' and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, who hath appeared unto him.
8 Von da rückte er weiter vor aufs Gebirge, östlich von Bethel, und schlug sein Zelt also auf, daß er Bethel im Westen und Ai im Osten hatte; und er baute daselbst dem HERRN einen Altar und rief den Namen des HERRN an.
And he removeth from thence towards a mountain at the east of Beth-El, and stretcheth out the tent (Beth-El at the west, and Hai at the east), and he buildeth there an altar to Jehovah, and preacheth in the name of Jehovah.
9 Darnach brach Abram auf und zog immer weiter nach Süden.
And Abram journeyeth, going on and journeying towards the south.
10 Da aber Hungersnot im Lande herrschte, reiste Abram nach Ägypten hinab, um sich daselbst aufzuhalten; denn die Hungersnot lastete auf dem Land.
And there is a famine in the land, and Abram goeth down towards Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine [is] grievous in the land;
11 Und als er sich Ägypten näherte, sprach er zu seinem Weib Sarai: Siehe doch, ich weiß, daß du ein Weib bist von schöner Gestalt.
and it cometh to pass as he hath drawn near to enter Egypt, that he saith unto Sarai his wife, 'Lo, I pray thee, I have known that thou [art] a woman of beautiful appearance;
12 Wenn dich nun die Ägypter sehen, so werden sie sagen: Das ist sein Weib! Und sie werden mich töten und dich leben lassen.
and it hath come to pass that the Egyptians see thee, and they have said, 'This [is] his wife,' and they have slain me, and thee they keep alive:
13 So sage doch, du seiest meine Schwester, daß es mir um deinetwillen wohl gehe, und meine Seele um deinetwillen am Leben bleibe!
say, I pray thee, thou [art] my sister, so that it is well with me because of thee, and my soul hath lived for thy sake.'
14 Als nun Abram nach Ägypten kam, sahen die Ägypter das Weib, daß sie sehr schön war.
And it cometh to pass, at the entering of Abram into Egypt, that the Egyptians see the woman that she [is] exceeding fair;
15 Und als die Fürsten des Pharao sie sahen, priesen sie dieselbe dem Pharao an. Da ward das Weib in Pharaos Haus gebracht.
and princes of Pharaoh see her, and praise her unto Pharaoh, and the woman is taken [to] Pharaoh's house;
16 Und es ging Abram gut um ihretwillen; und er bekam Schafe, Rinder und Esel, Knechte und Mägde, Eselinnen und Kamele.
and to Abram he hath done good because of her, and he hath sheep and oxen, and he-asses, and men-servants, and handmaids, and she-asses, and camels.
17 Aber der HERR schlug den Pharao und sein Haus mit großen Plagen um Sarais, des Weibes Abrams, willen.
And Jehovah plagueth Pharaoh and his house — great plagues — for the matter of Sarai, Abram's wife.
18 Da rief der Pharao den Abram und sprach: Was hast du mir da angerichtet! Warum hast du mir nicht angezeigt, daß sie dein Weib ist?
And Pharaoh calleth for Abram, and saith, 'What [is] this thou hast done to me? why hast thou not declared to me that she [is] thy wife?
19 Warum hast du gesagt, sie sei deine Schwester, so daß ich sie mir zum Weibe nehmen wollte? Und nun siehe, da ist dein Weib; nimm sie und geh!
Why hast thou said, She [is] my sister, and I take her to myself for a wife? and now, lo, thy wife, take and go.'
20 Und der Pharao bot seinethalben Mannschaft auf, damit sie ihm und seinem Weib und allem, was er hatte, das Geleite gäben.
And Pharaoh chargeth men concerning him, and they send him away, and his wife, an all that he hath.
