Hesekiel 36

1 Du aber, Menschensohn, weissage über die Berge Israels und sprich: Ihr Berge Israels, höret das Wort des HERRN!

“And you, son of man, prophesy to mountains of Israel, and you have said, O mountains of Israel, hear a word of YHWH!

2 So spricht Gott, der HERR: Weil der Feind über euch gesprochen hat: «Ha, die ewigen Höhen sind unser Erbe geworden!»

Thus said Lord YHWH: Because the enemy said against you, Aha! The high places of old have also become our possession,

3 so weissage nun und sprich: So spricht Gott, der HERR: Darum, ja, darum, weil man euch verwüstet und von allen Seiten nach euch geschnappt hat, so daß ihr den übrigen Völkern zum Erbteil geworden seid, und weil ihr ins Gerede der Zungen gekommen und zum Gespött geworden seid,

therefore, prophesy, and you have said, Thus said Lord YHWH: Because, even because, of desolating, And of swallowing you up from all around, For your being a possession to the remnant of the nations, And you are taken up on the tip of the tongue, And [are] an evil report to the people.

4 darum, o ihr Berge Israels, höret das Wort Gottes, des HERRN! So spricht Gott, der HERR, zu den Bergen und Hügeln, zu den Gründen und Tälern, zu den öden Trümmern und verlassenen Städten, welche den umwohnenden übrigen Nationen zum Raub und zum Gespött geworden sind:

Therefore, O mountains of Israel, Hear a word of Lord YHWH! Thus said Lord YHWH, to mountains, and to hills, To streams, and to valleys, And to ruins that [are] desolate, And to cities that are forsaken, That have been for a prey, And for a scorn, to the remnant of the surrounding nations,

5 Ja, darum spricht Gott, der HERR: Fürwahr, in meinem feurigen Eifer rede ich wider die übrigen Völker und wider ganz Edom, welche sich mein Land zum Besitztum gegeben und die sich von ganzem Herzen und mit übermütiger Verachtung gefreut haben, sie auszustoßen und zu berauben.

Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: Have I not, in the fire of My jealousy, Spoken against the remnant of the nations, And against Edom—all of it, Who gave My land to themselves for a possession, With the joy of the whole heart—with despite of soul, For the sake of casting it out for a prey?

6 Darum weissage über das Land Israel und sprich zu den Bergen und Hügeln, zu den Gründen und Tälern: So spricht Gott, der HERR: Seht, in meinem Eifer und in meinem grimmigen Zorn rede ich, weil ihr die Schmach der Heiden erlitten habt!

Therefore, prophesy concerning the ground of Israel, And you have said to mountains, and to hills, To streams, and to valleys, Thus said Lord YHWH: Behold, I, in My jealousy and in My fury, have spoken, Because you have borne the shame of nations.

7 Darum spricht Gott, der HERR, also: Ich hebe meine Hand auf und schwöre, daß die Nationen, welche um euch her liegen, ihre eigene Schmach tragen sollen!

Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: I have lifted up My hand, Do the nations who [are] surrounding you not bear their own shame?

8 Ihr aber, Berge Israels, laßt euer Laub sprossen und traget eure Frucht für mein Volk Israel; denn bald sollen sie heimkehren!

And you, O mountains of Israel, You give out your branch, And you bear your fruits for My people Israel, For they have drawn near to come.

9 Denn seht, ich komme zu euch und wende mich wieder zu euch, daß ihr angebaut und besät werdet!

For behold, I [am] for you, and have turned to you, And you have been tilled and sown.

10 Ich will viele Menschen auf euch wohnen lassen, das ganze Haus Israel, sie alle; die Städte sollen bewohnt und die Trümmer aufgebaut werden.

And I have multiplied men on you, All the house of Israel—all of it, And the cities have been inhabited, And the ruins are built.

11 Ich will Menschen und Vieh bei euch zahlreich machen, und sie werden sich mehren und fruchtbar sein; ich will euch bevölkern wie ehedem und euch mehr Gutes erweisen als je zuvor, und ihr sollt erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin!

And I have multiplied man and beast on you, And they have multiplied and been fruitful, And I have caused you to dwell according to your former states, And I have done better than at your beginnings, And you have known that I [am] YHWH.

12 Und ich will Menschen auf euch wandeln lassen, nämlich mein Volk Israel; die sollen dich besitzen, und du sollst ihr Erbteil sein und sie nicht mehr der Kinder berauben!

And I have caused man to walk over you—My people Israel, And they possess you, and you have been their inheritance, And you no longer add to bereave them.

13 So spricht Gott, der HERR: Weil sie zu euch sagen: «Du warst eine Menschenfresserin und hast dein Volk der Kinder beraubt»,

Thus said Lord YHWH: Because they are saying to you, You [are] a devourer of men, And you have been a bereaver of your nations,

14 so sollst du hinfort keine Menschen mehr fressen und dein Volk nicht mehr der Kinder berauben, spricht Gott, der HERR.

Therefore, you no longer devour man, And you do not cause your nations to stumble anymore, A declaration of Lord YHWH.

15 Ich will dich hinfort nicht mehr die Schmähungen der Heiden hören lassen, und den Hohn der Nationen sollst du nicht mehr tragen und dein Volk nicht mehr kinderlos machen, spricht Gott, der HERR.

And I do not proclaim the shame of the nations to you anymore, And you no longer bear the reproach of peoples, And your nations do not stumble anymore, A declaration of Lord YHWH.”

16 Und das Wort des HERRN erging an mich also:

And there is a word of YHWH to me, saying,

17 Menschensohn, als das Haus Israel in seinem Lande wohnte und sie dasselbe mit ihren Wegen und Taten verunreinigten, so daß ihr Wandel vor mir war wie die Unreinigkeit eines Weibes in ihrer Krankheit,

“Son of man, The house of Israel are dwelling on their land, And they defile it by their way and by their doings, Their way has been as the uncleanness of a separated one before Me.

18 da schüttete ich meinen Zorn über sie aus wegen des Blutes, das sie im Lande vergossen, und weil sie es durch ihre Götzen verunreinigt hatten.

And I pour out My fury on them For the blood that they shed on the land, And they have defiled it with their idols.

19 Ich zerstreute sie unter die Heiden, und sie wurden in die Länder versprengt; ich richtete sie nach ihren Wegen und nach ihren Taten.

And I scatter them among nations, And they are spread through lands, According to their way, and according to their doings, I have judged them.

20 Als sie nun unter die Heiden kamen, wohin sie gezogen waren, entheiligten sie meinen heiligen Namen, so daß man von ihnen sagte: «Das ist das Volk des HERRN; die mußten aus seinem Lande ausziehen!»

And one goes to the nations to where they have gone, And they defile My holy Name by saying to them, These [are] the people of YHWH, And they have gone forth from His land.

21 Aber mich reute mein heiliger Name, welchen das Haus Israel entheiligt hat unter den Heiden, zu denen es gekommen ist!

And I have pity on My holy Name, That the house of Israel has defiled Among the nations to where they have gone in.

22 Darum sage zu dem Hause Israel: So spricht Gott, der HERR: Nicht um euretwillen tue ich solches, Haus Israel, sondern wegen meines heiligen Namens, welchen ihr entheiligt habt unter den Heiden, zu welchen ihr gekommen seid.

Therefore, say to the house of Israel, Thus said Lord YHWH: I am not working for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy Name That you have defiled Among the nations to where you have gone in.

23 Darum will ich meinen großen Namen wieder heilig machen, der vor den Heiden entheiligt worden ist, welchen ihr unter ihnen entheiligt habt! Und die Heiden sollen erkennen, daß ich der HERR bin, spricht Gott, der HERR, wenn ich mich vor ihren Augen an euch heilig erweisen werde.

And I have sanctified My great Name, That is profaned among the nations, That you have defiled in your midst, And the nations have known that I [am] YHWH, A declaration of Lord YHWH, In My being sanctified in you before your eyes.

24 Denn ich will euch aus den Nationen herausholen und aus allen Ländern sammeln und euch wieder in euer Land bringen.

And I have taken you out of the nations, And have gathered you out of all the lands, And I have brought you into your land,

25 Ich will reines Wasser über euch sprengen, daß ihr rein werdet; von aller eurer Unreinigkeit und von allen euren Götzen will ich euch reinigen.

And I have sprinkled clean water over you, And you have been clean; I cleanse you from all your uncleannesses, And from all your idols.

26 Und ich will euch ein neues Herz geben und einen neuen Geist in euch legen; ich will das steinerne Herz aus eurem Fleisch wegnehmen und euch ein fleischernes Herz geben;

And I have given a new heart to you, And I give a new spirit in your midst, And I have turned aside the heart of stone out of your flesh, And I have given a heart of flesh to you.

27 ich will meinen Geist in euch geben und will solche Leute aus euch machen, die in meinen Satzungen wandeln und meine Rechte beobachten und tun.

And I give My Spirit in your midst, And I have done this, so that you walk in My statutes, And you keep My judgments, and have done them.

28 Und ihr sollt in dem Lande wohnen, das ich euren Vätern gegeben habe, und ihr sollt mein Volk sein, und ich will euer Gott sein.

And you have dwelt in the land that I have given to your fathers, And you have been to Me for a people, And I am to you for God.

29 Und ich will euch von allen euren Unreinigkeiten befreien, und ich will dem Korn rufen und desselben viel machen und euch keine Hungersnot mehr schicken.

And I have saved you from all your uncleannesses, And I have called to the grain, and multiplied it, And I have put no famine on you.

30 Ich will auch die Früchte der Bäume und den Ertrag des Feldes vermehren, daß ihr hinfort die Schmach des Hungers unter den Heiden nicht mehr tragen müßt.

And I have multiplied the fruit of the tree, And the increase of the field, So that you do not receive a reproach of famine among nations anymore.

31 Alsdann werdet ihr an eure bösen Wege gedenken und an eure Taten, welche nicht gut waren, und werdet vor euch selbst Abscheu empfinden wegen eurer Sünden und wegen eurer Greuel.

And you have remembered your ways that [are] evil, And your doings that [are] not good, And have been loathsome in your own faces, For your iniquities, and for your abominations.

32 Nicht euretwegen werde ich solches tun, spricht Gott, der HERR, das sei euch kund! Schämt euch und errötet über euren Wandel, Haus Israel!

I am not working for your sake, A declaration of Lord YHWH, Be it known to you, Be ashamed and confounded, because of your ways, O house of Israel.

33 So spricht Gott, der HERR: Zu jener Zeit, da ich euch von allen euren Missetaten reinigen werde, will ich die Städte wieder bewohnen lassen, und die Trümmer sollen wieder aufgebaut werden.

Thus said Lord YHWH: In the day of My cleansing you from all your iniquities, I have caused the cities to be inhabited, And the ruins have been built,

34 Das verwüstete Land soll wieder bearbeitet werden, nachdem es zuvor wüste lag vor allen, die vorübergingen.

And the desolate land is tilled, Instead of which it was a desolation before the eyes of everyone passing by,

35 Alsdann wird man sagen: «Dieses verwüstete Land ist wie ein Garten Eden geworden, und die zertrümmerten Städte, welche zertrümmert und zerstört waren, sind wohlbefestigt und bewohnt!

And they have said: This land, that was desolated, Has been as the Garden of Eden, And the cities—the dried up, And the desolated, and the broken down, [And the] fortified have remained.

36 Und die Nationen, welche übriggeblieben sind rings um euch her, werden erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, es bin, welcher das Abgebrochene baut und das Verwüstete bepflanzt. Ich, der HERR, habe es gesagt und werde es auch tun.

And the nations who are left around you have known That I, YHWH, have built the thrown down, I have planted the desolated: I, YHWH, have spoken, and I have done [it].

37 Ferner spricht Gott, der HERR, also: Auch dafür will ich mich von dem Hause Israel noch erbitten lassen, daß ich es für sie tue: Ich will sie mehren wie eine Menschenherde;

Thus said Lord YHWH: Yet this I am inquired of by the house of Israel to do for them: I multiply them as a flock of men,

38 wie die Herden im Heiligtum, wie die Herden zu Jerusalem an ihren Festen, so sollen auch die verlassenen Städte voll Menschenherden werden, und man soll erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin!

As a flock of holy ones, as a flock of Jerusalem, In her appointed times, So the dried up cities are full of flocks of man, And they have known that I [am] YHWH!”
