Hesekiel 35

1 Und das Wort des HERRN erging an mich also:

And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying,

2 Menschensohn, wende dein Angesicht gegen das Gebirge Seir und weissage wider dasselbe und sage zu ihm:

Son of man Set thy face against Mount Seir, —and prophesy against it;

3 So spricht Gott, der HERR: Siehe, ich will an dich, Gebirge Seir; ich will meine Hand wider dich ausstrecken und dich zur Wüste und Einöde machen!

and thou shalt say to it Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! against thee Mount Seir, —Therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, And I will make thee a desolation and an astonishment:

4 Deine Städte will ich in Trümmer legen, und zur Wüste sollst du werden, damit du erfahrest, daß ich der HERR bin,

Thy cities, will I lay waste, And thou—a desolation, shalt become, So shalt thou know that I, am Yahweh.

5 weil du ewige Feindschaft hegst und die Kinder Israel der Schärfe des Schwertes überliefert hast zur Zeit ihres Unglücks, zur Zeit der endgültigen Abrechnung.

Because thou hast had an age-abiding enmity, And hast delivered up the sons of Israel unto the hands of the sword, - In the time of their misfortune, In the time of the final punishment for iniquity,

6 Darum, so wahr ich lebe, spricht Gott, der HERR, ich will dich bluten machen, und Blut soll dich verfolgen; weil du das Blutvergießen nicht gescheut hast, so soll das Blut auch dich verfolgen!

Therefore, as I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, Surely regarding blood, will I deal with thee, Blood therefore, shall pursue thee, -Since blood thou hast not hated, Therefore blood, shall pursue thee,

7 Und ich will das Gebirge Seir zu einer Wüste und Einöde machen und alle Hin und Herziehenden daraus vertilgen.

So then I will deliver up Mount Seir to desolation after desolation, - And will cut off therefrom him that passeth by and him that returneth,

8 Ich will seine Berge mit seinen Erschlagenen füllen; und auf deinen Hügeln und in deinen Tälern und allen deinen Gründen sollen mit dem Schwert Erschlagene fallen.

And I will fill his mountains with his slain, — As for thy hills and thy hollows and all thy channels, they who are thrust through by the sword shall fall therein:

9 Zur ewigen Wüste will ich dich machen, und deine Städte sollen unbewohnt bleiben, so werdet ihr erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin.

Desolations age-abiding, will I make thee, And thy cities, shall not be inhabited, - So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh.

10 Weil du gesagt hast: «Diese beiden Völker und diese beiden Länder müssen mein werden, und wir wollen sie einnehmen!» obgleich der HERR daselbst gewesen ist,

Because thou hast said, the two nations, and the two lands, mine, shall become, that we may possess it Whereas Yahweh, had been there,

11 darum spricht Gott, der HERR: So wahr ich lebe, ich will mit dir verfahren nach deinem Zorn und nach deiner Eifersucht, wie du auch nach deinem Haß mit ihnen gehandelt hast; und ich werde mich bei ihnen zu erkennen geben, wenn ich dich richte.

Therefore as I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, I will even deal according to thine anger, and according to thine envy, wherewith thou hast dealt, out of thy hatred with them, - So will I make myself known among them as soon as I shall judge thee

12 Du aber sollst erfahren, daß ich, der HERR, alle deine Lästerungen gehört habe, welche du wider die Berge Israels ausgestoßen hast, indem du sprachst: «Sie wurden verwüstet, uns sind sie zur Speise gegeben!»

And thou shalt know that, I Yahweh, have heard all thy revilings which thou hast uttered against the mountains of Israel saying, They have become desolate, — To us, have they been given for food;

13 Also habt ihr mit eurem Maul wider mich groß getan und freche Reden wider mich geführt. Ich habe es gehört.

And so ye have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, And have caused to abound against me your words, —I, have heard!

14 So spricht Gott, der HERR: Wenn alle Welt sich freut, so will ich dich zur Wüste machen!

Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, — When all the earth is rejoicing, a desolation, will I make thee:

15 Wie du dich gefreut hast über das Erbe des Hauses Israel, weil es verwüstet wurde, also will ich auch dir tun. Du sollst verwüstet werden, Gebirge Seir, und du, Edom, insgesamt, so wird man erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin!

As thou didst rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it had become a desolation, so, will, I, do unto thee, — A desolation, shalt thou become, O Mount Seir And all Edom all of it, So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh.
