Epheser 1
1 Paulus, Apostel Jesu Christi durch den Willen Gottes, an die Heiligen, die in Ephesus sind, und Gläubigen in Christus Jesus.
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, through God’s will, unto the saints who are [in Ephesus] and faithful in Christ Jesus, —
2 Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott, unsrem Vater und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!
Favour unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Gepriesen sei der Gott und Vater unsres Herrn Jesus Christus, der uns mit jedem geistlichen Segen gesegnet hat in den himmlischen [Regionen] durch Christus;
Blessed, be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing, in the heavenlies, in Christ,
4 wie er uns in ihm auserwählt hat vor Grundlegung der Welt, damit wir heilig und tadellos wären vor ihm;
According as he made choice of us, in him, before the founding of a world, that we might be holy and blameless in his presence; in love,
5 und aus Liebe hat er uns vorherbestimmt zur Kindschaft gegen ihn selbst, durch Jesus Christus, nach dem Wohlgefallen seines Willens,
marking us out beforehand unto sonship, through Jesus Christ, for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 zum Preise der Herrlichkeit seiner Gnade, mit welcher er uns begnadigt hat in dem Geliebten;
Unto the praise of the glory of his favour wherewith he favoured us in the Beloved One, —
7 in ihm haben wir die Erlösung durch sein Blut, die Vergebung der Sünden nach dem Reichtum seiner Gnade,
In whom we have the redemption through his blood, the remission of our offences, according to the riches of his favour,
8 die er gegen uns überfließen ließ in aller Weisheit und Einsicht;
which he made to superabound towards us; in all wisdom and prudence,
9 er tat uns das Geheimnis seines Willens kund, gemäß seinem wohlwollenden Ratschluß, den er gefaßt hat in ihm,
making known to us the sacred secret of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him, —
10 damit es ausgeführt würde in der Fülle der Zeiten: alles unter ein Haupt zu bringen in Christus, was im Himmel und was auf Erden ist, in ihm.
For an administration of the fulness of the seasons, to reunite for himself (under one head) the all things in the Christ, the things upon the heavens, and the things upon the earth, in him:
11 In ihm haben auch wir Anteil erlangt, die wir vorherbestimmt waren nach dem Vorsatz dessen, der alles wirkt nach dem Ratschluß seines Willens,
In whom also we were taken as an inheritance, according to the purpose of him who energiseth all things according to the counsel of his will,
12 daß wir zum Lobe seiner Herrlichkeit dienten, die wir zuvor auf Christus gehofft hatten;
That we should be for the praise of his glory—we who had hoped beforehand in the Christ, —
13 in ihm [seid] auch ihr, nachdem ihr das Wort der Wahrheit, das Evangelium eurer Rettung gehört habt, in ihm seid auch ihr, als ihr glaubtet, versiegelt worden mit dem heiligen Geiste der Verheißung,
In whom, ye also—hearing the word of the truth, the glad-message of your salvation, —in whom also believing, —were sealed with the Spirit of the promise, the Holy [Spirit],
14 welcher das Pfand unsres Erbes ist bis zur Erlösung des Eigentums, zum Preise seiner Herrlichkeit.
Which is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of the acquisition; —unto his glorious praise.
15 Darum lasse auch ich, nachdem ich von eurem Glauben an den Herrn Jesus und von der Liebe zu allen Heiligen gehört habe,
For this cause, I also, —having heard of the faith on your part in the Lord Jesus, and that towards all the saints,
16 nicht ab, für euch zu danken und in meinen Gebeten euer zu gedenken,
Cease not giving thanks in your behalf, making mention in my prayers,
17 daß der Gott unsres Herrn Jesus Christus, der Vater der Herrlichkeit, euch den Geist der Weisheit und Offenbarung gebe in der Erkenntnis seiner selbst,
That, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give you a Spirit of wisdom and understanding in gaining a personal knowledge of him, —
18 erleuchtete Augen des Herzens, damit ihr wißt, welches die Hoffnung seiner Berufung und welches der Reichtum der Herrlichkeit seines Erbes in den Heiligen sei,
The eyes of your heart having been enlightened, that ye may know—what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 welches auch die überwältigende Größe seiner Macht sei an uns, die wir glauben, vermöge der Wirksamkeit der Macht seiner Stärke,
And what the surpassing greatness of his power unto us who believe, —according to the energy of the grasp of his might
20 welche er wirksam gemacht hat in Christus, als er ihn aus den Toten auferweckte und ihn zu seiner Rechten setzte in den himmlischen [Regionen],
which he energised in the Christ, when he raised him from among the dead, and seated him at his right hand in the heavenlies,
21 hoch über jedes Fürstentum und [jede] Gewalt, Macht und Herrschaft und jeden Namen, der genannt wird nicht allein in diesem Zeitalter, sondern auch in dem zukünftigen (aiōn g165)
Over-above all principality, authority, and power, and lordship, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the coming one, (aiōn g165)
22 und wobei er alles unter seine Füße tat und ihn zum Haupt über alles der Gemeinde gab,
And did put, all things, in subjection beneath his feet. And gave him to be head over all things unto the assembly,
23 welche sein Leib ist, die Fülle dessen, der alles in allen erfüllt;
Which, indeed, is his body, the fulness of him who, the all things in all, is for himself filling up.
