5 Mose 11
1 So sollst du nun den HERRN, deinen Gott, lieben, und seine Ordnung, seine Satzungen, seine Rechte und Gebote beobachten dein Leben lang.
Therefore shalt thou love Yahweh thy God and keep his observance and his statutes and his regulations and his commandments all the days.
2 Und ihr sollt heute erkennen (was eure Kinder nicht wissen und nicht gesehen haben) die Zucht des HERRN, eures Gottes, und seine Majestät und seine mächtige Hand und seinen ausgereckten Arm
And ye must know to-day, (for not with your sons [do I speak] who know not, neither have they seen) the discipline of Yahweh your God, —his greatness, his firm hand, and his stretched-out arm;
3 und seine Zeichen und Werke, die er getan hat unter den Ägyptern an dem Pharao, dem König in Ägypten, und an seinem ganzen Land;
and his signs and his doings, which he did in the midst of Egypt, —unto Pharaoh king of Egypt and unto all his land;
4 und was er getan hat an der Heeresmacht der Ägypter, an ihren Rossen und Wagen, da er sie mit dem Wasser des Schilfmeers überschwemmte, als sie euch nachjagten, und wie sie der HERR vertilgte, bis auf diesen Tag;
and what he did unto the forces of Egypt—unto his horses and unto his chariots in that he caused the waters of the Red Sea to flow over their faces, when they were pursuing after you, —and so Yahweh destroyed them (unto this day);
5 und was er in der Wüste an euch getan hat, bis ihr an diesen Ort gekommen seid;
and what he did unto you, in the desert, —until ye came in as far as this place;
6 auch was er Datan und Abiram tat, den Söhnen Eliabs, des Sohnes Rubens, wie die Erde ihren Mund auftat und sie verschlang samt ihren Familien und Zelten und ihrem ganzen Anhang, inmitten von ganz Israel.
and what he did to Dathan and to Abiram, sons of Eliab, son of Reuben, in that the earth opened wide her mouth, and swallowed-up them and their households and their tents, —and all the living things that attended them, in the midst of all Israel.
7 Ja, eure Augen haben die großen Werke des HERRN gesehen, die er getan hat.
For yours, are the eyes that have seen every great deed of Yahweh, —which he hath done.
8 Darum sollt ihr alle Gebote bewahren, die ich euch heute gebiete, daß ihr erstarket und hineinkommet und das Land erblich besitzet, in das ihr hinüberzieht, um es einzunehmen;
Therefore shall ye keep all the commandment which I am commanding thee, today, —that ye may be strong, and so enter and possess the land, whither ye are passing over to possess it;
9 und daß ihr lange lebet im Lande, von dem der HERR euren Vätern geschworen hat, daß er es ihnen und ihrem Samen geben werde, ein Land, das von Milch und Honig fließt.
and that ye may prolong your days upon the soil which Yahweh sware unto your fathers, to give unto them and unto their seed, —a land flowing with milk and honey.
10 Denn das Land, da du hinkommst, um es einzunehmen, ist nicht wie das Land Ägypten, davon ihr ausgezogen seid, da du deinen Samen sätest, und das du mit deinem Fuß wässertest wie einen Gemüsegarten;
For the land which thou art entering to, possess, not like the land of Egypt, it is, from whence ye came out, —where thou didst sow thy seed, and then water it with thy foot, like a garden of herbs;
11 sondern das Land, dahin ihr ziehet, um es einzunehmen, hat Berge und Täler, die Wasser vom Regen des Himmels trinken.
but the land whereinto ye are passing over to, possess it, is a land of hills, and valleys, —which of the rain of the heavens, doth drink water:
12 Es ist ein Land, zu welchem der HERR, dein Gott, Sorge trägt; auf welches die Augen des HERRN, deines Gottes, immerdar gerichtet sind, von Anfang bis Ende des Jahres.
a land which Yahweh thy God careth for, —continually are the eyes of Yahweh thy God upon it, from the beginning of the year, even unto the end of the year.
13 Werdet ihr nun meinen Geboten fleißig gehorchen, die ich euch heute gebiete, daß ihr den HERRN, euren Gott, liebet und ihm mit ganzem Herzen und mit ganzer Seele dienet,
And it shall come to pass, if ye will hearken, unto my commandments, which, I am commanding you to-day, —to love Yahweh your God, and to serve him, with, all your heart, and with all your soul,
14 so will ich eurem Lande Regen geben zu seiner Zeit, Frühregen und Spätregen, daß du dein Korn, deinen Most und dein Öl einsammeln kannst.
then [saith he] I will give the rain of your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain; so shalt thou gather in thy corn, and thy new wine and thine oil;
15 Und ich will deinem Vieh auf deinem Felde Gras geben, daß ihr esset und satt werdet.
and I will give grass in thy field for thy cattle, —and thou shalt eat and be satisfied.
16 Hütet euch aber, daß sich euer Herz nicht überreden lasse, daß ihr abtretet und andern Göttern dienet und sie anbetet,
Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be befooled, —and ye turn aside and serve other gods, and bow down to them.
17 und daß alsdann der Zorn des HERRN über euch entbrenne und den Himmel zuschließe, daß kein Regen komme, und die Erde ihr Gewächs nicht gebe, und ihr bald umkommet auf dem guten Land, das euch der HERR gegeben hat!
So would the anger of Yahweh kindle upon you and he would shut up the heavens, that there should be no rain, and the ground, would not yield her increase, —so should ye perish speedily, from off the good land, which Yahweh is giving unto you.
18 So fasset nun diese meine Worte zu Herzen und in eure Seele, und bindet sie zum Zeichen auf eure Hände, daß sie ein Schmuck seien zwischen euren Augen.
Therefore shall ye lay these my words upon your heart, and upon your soul, —and bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall serve as bands between your eyes;
19 Lehret sie eure Kinder, indem ihr davon redet, wenn du in deinem Hause sitzest oder auf dem Wege gehest, wenn du dich niederlegst und wenn du aufstehst.
and ye shall teach them unto your children by speaking of them, —when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down and when thou risest up;
20 Und schreibe sie auf die Pfosten deines Hauses und an deine Tore,
and thou shalt write them upon the door-posts of thy house and within thy gates:
21 auf daß du und deine Kinder lange leben in dem Lande, von dem der HERR deinen Vätern geschworen hat, daß er es ihnen geben werde, solange der Himmel über der Erde steht.
that your days may multiply, and the days of your children, upon the soil which Yahweh sware unto your fathers, to give unto them, —like the days of the heavens upon the earth.
22 Denn wenn ihr dieses ganze Gesetz, das ich euch gebe, getreulich erfüllt und tut und den HERRN, euren Gott, liebet, wenn ihr in allen seinen Wegen wandelt und ihm anhanget,
For if ye do, indeed keep, all this commandment which I am commanding you to do it, —to love Yahweh your God, to Walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him,
23 so wird der HERR alle diese Völker vor euch her vertreiben, so daß ihr größere und stärkere Völker als ihr seid, aus ihrem Besitz verdränget.
then will Yahweh dispossess all these nations, from before you, —and ye shall dispossess nations greater and stronger than ye:
24 Alle Orte, darauf eure Fußsohle tritt, sollen euer sein; von der Wüste an, vom Libanon und dem Euphratstrom bis an das westliche Meer soll euer Gebiet reichen.
every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread yours, shall it be, —from the desert and the Lebanon from the river—the river Euphrates, even unto the hinder sea, shall be your boundary.
25 Niemand wird vor euch bestehen; der HERR, euer Gott, wird Furcht und Schrecken vor euch über alle Länder kommen lassen, die ihr betretet, wie er euch versprochen hat.
No man shall stand before you, —the dread of you and the fear of you, will Yahweh your God put forth over the face of all the land whereon ye shall tread, as he spake unto you.
26 Siehe, ich lege euch heute vor den Segen und den Fluch:
See! I am setting before you to-day, —a blessing, and a curse:
27 den Segen, wenn ihr den Geboten des HERRN, eures Gottes, die ich euch heute gebiete, gehorsam seid:
the blessing, when ye shall hearken unto the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I am commanding you to-day;
28 den Fluch aber, wenn ihr den Geboten des HERRN, eures Gottes, nicht gehorsam sein werdet und von dem Wege, den ich euch heute gebiete, abtretet, so daß ihr andern Göttern nachwandelt, die ihr nicht kennet.
and the curse if ye, shall not hearken unto the commandments of Yahweh your God, but shall turn aside out of the way which I am commanding you to-day, —to go after other gods which ye know not.
29 Und wenn dich der HERR, dein Gott, in das Land bringt, darein du kommst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen, so sollst du den Segen auf dem Berge Garizim sprechen und den Fluch auf dem Berge Ebal.
And it shall come to pass when Yahweh thy God shall bring thee into the land which thou art entering to possess, then shalt thou put the blessing, upon Mount Gerizim, and the curse, upon Mount Ebal.
30 Sind sie nicht jenseits des Jordan, dort, wo die Sonne untergeht, im Lande der Kanaaniter, die auf dem flachen Felde wohnen, Gilgal gegenüber, bei dem Eichenwald More?
Are, they, not over the Jordan on the way towards the entering in of the sun, in the land of the Canaanite who dwelleth in the plain over against Gilgal beside the Teacher’s Terebinths?
31 Denn ihr werdet über den Jordan gehen, daß ihr hineinkommt, das Land einzunehmen, das euch der HERR, euer Gott, gegeben hat; und ihr werdet es in Besitz nehmen und darin wohnen.
For ye are passing over the Jordan, to enter to possess the land which Yahweh your God, is giving unto you, —so shall ye possess it and dwell therein.
32 So achtet nun darauf, daß ihr alle Satzungen und Rechte tut, die ich euch heute vorlege!
Therefore shall ye observe to do all the statutes and the regulations, —which I am setting before you to-day.
