Daniel 4

1 König Nebukadnezar wünscht allen Völkern, Stämmen und Zungen, die auf der ganzen Erde wohnen, großen Frieden!

Nebuchadnezzar king the to all peoples the nations the and languages the which ([are] dwelling *Q(k)*) in all earth the peace your may it increase.

2 Es hat mir gefallen, die Zeichen und Wunder kundzutun, die der höchste Gott an mir getan hat.

Signs the and wonders the which he has done with me God (Most High the *Q(k)*) it seemed good before me to declare.

3 Wie groß sind seine Zeichen und wie gewaltig seine Wunder! Sein Reich ist ein ewiges Reich, und seine Herrschaft währt für und für!

[are] signs His how much! great and [are] wonders his how much! strong kingdom his [is] a kingdom of perpetuity and dominion his [is] with generation and generation.

4 Ich, Nebukadnezar, lebte sorglos in meinem Hause und gesund in meinem Palast.

I Nebuchadnezzar at ease I was in house my and flourishing in palace my.

5 Da hatte ich einen Traum, der mich erschreckte, und die Gedanken auf meinem Lager und die Gesichte meines Hauptes ängstigten mich.

A dream I saw and it made afraid me and imaginings on bed my and [the] visions of head my they alarmed me.

6 Und es ward von mir Befehl gegeben, alle Weisen Babels vor mich zu bringen, damit sie mir des Traumes Deutung kundtäten.

And from me it was made a decree to bring in before me all [the] wise men of Babylon that [the] interpretation of dream the they will make known to me.

7 Alsbald kamen die Schriftkundigen, Wahrsager, Chaldäer und Sterndeuter herbei, und ich erzählte vor ihnen den Traum; aber sie konnten mir die Deutung nicht kundtun,

Then ([were] going in *Q(k)*) magicians the conjurers the (Chaldeans the *Q(K)*) and astrologers the and dream the [was] saying I before them and interpretation its not [they were] making known to me.

8 bis zuletzt Daniel vor mich kam, der Beltsazar heißt nach dem Namen meines Gottes, und in welchem der Geist der heiligen Götter ist; vor dem erzählte ich meinen Traum:

And until at last he came in before me Daniel who name his [is] Belteshazzar like [the] name of god my and who a spirit of gods holy [is] in him and dream the before him I said.

9 Beltsazar, du Oberster der Schriftkundigen, von dem ich weiß, daß der Geist der heiligen Götter in dir ist und daß kein Geheimnis dir Mühe macht, vernimm das Traumgesicht, das ich gesehen habe, und sage mir, was es bedeutet!

O Belteshazzar [the] chief of magicians the whom - I I know that a spirit of gods holy [is] in you and any secret not [is] oppressing you [the] visions of dream my which I saw and interpretation its tell!

10 Das sind aber die Gesichte meines Hauptes auf meinem Lager: Ich schaute, und siehe, es stand ein sehr hoher Baum mitten auf der Erde.

And [the] visions of head my on bed my seeing I was and lo! a tree in [the] midst of land the and height its [was] great.

11 Der Baum war groß und stark, und sein Wipfel reichte bis an den Himmel, und er wurde gesehen bis ans Ende der ganzen Erde.

It grew great tree the and it grew strong and height its it reached to heavens the and [the] sight of it [was] to [the] end of all land the.

12 Sein Laub war schön und seiner Früchte viel, und Nahrung für alle fand sich an ihm; unter ihm suchten Schatten die Tiere des Feldes, und die Vögel des Himmels wohnten auf seinen Zweigen, und von ihm nährte sich alles Fleisch.

Foliage its [was] beautiful and fruit its [was] plentiful and food for all [was] on it under it it had shade - [the] animal[s] of field the and in branches its (they nested *Q(K)*) [the] birds of heavens the and from it it fed all flesh.

13 Ich sah in den Gesichten meines Hauptes auf meinem Lager und siehe, ein heiliger Wächter fuhr vom Himmel herab;

Seeing I was in [the] visions of head my on bed my and lo! a watcher and a holy [one] from heavens the [was] coming down.

14 der rief mit gewaltiger Stimme und sprach: «Hauet den Baum um und schlaget seine Äste weg, streifet sein Laub ab und zerstreuet seine Früchte, jaget die Tiere unter ihm fort und die Vögel von seinen Zweigen!

[he was] proclaiming With power and as follows [he was] saying cut down! tree the and cut off! branches its strip off! foliage its and scatter! fruit its let it flee animal[s] the from under it and birds the from branches its.

15 Aber seinen Wurzelstock sollt ihr in der Erde lassen, und zwar in Fesseln von Eisen und Erz im grünen Felde, damit er vom Tau des Himmels benetzt werde und mit den Tieren Anteil habe an den Kräutern der Erde.

Nevertheless [the] stump of roots its in ground the leave! and with a fetter of iron and bronze in grass the of field the and with [the] dew of heavens the let it become wet and [be] with animal[s] the portion its in [the] grass of earth the.

16 Sein Herz soll verändert werden, daß es kein menschliches mehr sei, und es soll ihm ein tierisches Herz gegeben werden, und sieben Zeiten sollen darüber vergehen.

17 Im Rat der Wächter wurde das beschlossen und von den Heiligen besprochen und verlangt, damit die Lebendigen erkennen, daß der Höchste Gewalt hat über das Königtum der Menschen und es gibt, wem er will, und den Niedrigsten der Menschen darüber setzt.»

18 Diesen Traum habe ich, König Nebukadnezar, gesehen; du aber, Beltsazar, gib die Auslegung, weil alle Weisen meines Reiches nicht imstande sind, dieselbe kundzutun; du aber kannst es, weil der Geist der heiligen Götter in dir ist!

This dream the I saw I king the Nebuchadnezzar (and you *Q(k)*) O Belteshazzar interpretation its - tell! as to because that - all [the] wise men of kingdom my not [are] able interpretation the to make known to me (and you *Q(k)*) [are] able who a spirit of gods holy [is] in you.

19 Da blieb Daniel, den man Beltsazar heißt, eine Weile ganz starr, und seine Gedanken erschreckten ihn. Der König antwortete und sprach: Beltsazar, der Traum und seine Deutung dürfen dich nicht erschrecken! Beltsazar antwortete und sprach: Mein Herr, der Traum gelte deinen Hassern und seine Auslegung deinen Feinden!

Then Daniel who name his [was] Belteshazzar he was appalled about a moment one and thoughts his they alarmed him [was] replying king the and [was] saying O Belteshazzar dream the and interpretation its may not it alarm you [was] replying Belteshazzar and [was] saying (O lord my *Q(k)*) dream the ([be] for enemy your *Q(K)*) and interpretation its ([be] for adversaries your. *Q(k)*)

20 Der Baum, den du gesehen hast, so groß und stark, daß sein Wipfel bis zum Himmel reichte und der über die ganze Erde zu sehen war,

Tree the which you saw which it grew great and it grew strong and height its it reached to heavens the and [the] sight of it [was] to all land the.

21 der so schönes Laub hatte und so reiche Früchte trug und an dem sich Nahrung für alle fand, unter welchem sich die Tiere des Feldes aufhielten und auf dessen Zweigen die Vögel des Himmels wohnten,

22 der Baum bist du, o König, der du so groß und stark geworden bist und dessen Majestät so groß ist, daß sie bis zum Himmel reicht, und deine Herrschaft bis ans Ende der Erde.

23 Daß aber der König einen Wächter, einen Heiligen, vom Himmel herabfahren sah und sagen hörte: «Hauet den Baum um und verderbet ihn; aber seinen Wurzelstock lasset in der Erde bleiben, und zwar in Banden von Eisen und Erz im grünen Felde, daß er vom Tau des Himmels benetzt werde und sein Teil habe mit den Tieren des Feldes, bis daß sieben Zeiten über ihm vergangen sind»,

24 das hat, o König, folgende Bedeutung, und dies ist der Beschluß des Höchsten, der meinen Herrn, den König, betrifft.

25 Man wird dich von den Menschen ausstoßen, daß du bei den Tieren des Feldes wohnest; und man wird dich mit Gras füttern wie die Ochsen und dich vom Tau des Himmels benetzen lassen; und es werden sieben Zeiten über dir vergehen, bis daß du erkennst, daß der Höchste Gewalt hat über das Königtum der Menschen und es gibt, wem er will.

And you [they will be] chasing away from humankind and with [the] animal[s] of field the it will be dwelling place your and grass like oxen - to you they will feed and from [the] dew of heavens the you [they will be] making wet and seven times they will pass (over you *Q(k)*) until that you will know that [is] having mastery (Most High the *Q(k)*) over [the] kingdom of humankind and to whomever whom he will be pleased he will give it.

26 Weil aber vom Verbleiben des Wurzelstockes des Baumes die Rede war, so wird auch dir dein Königtum verbleiben, sobald du erkennen wirst, daß der Himmel herrscht.

And that they said to leave [the] stump of roots its of tree the kingdom your to you [will be] enduring from that you will know that [are] having mastery heavens the.

27 Darum, o König, laß dir meinen Rat gefallen und brich mit deinen Sünden durch Gerechtigkeit und mit deinen Missetaten durch Erbarmen gegen die Armen, wenn dein Glück dauerhaft sein soll!

Therefore king O advice my let it be acceptable (to you *Q(k)*) (and sin your *Q(K)*) by right doing break off! and iniquities your by showing mercy to poor people whether it will be a prolonging of prosperity your.

28 Dies alles ist über den König Nebukadnezar gekommen.

29 Als er sich nach zwölf Monaten auf seinem königlichen Palast zu Babel erging,

To [the] end of months two [plus] ten on [the] palace of kingdom the of Babylon walking about he was.

30 da hob der König an und sprach: «Ist das nicht die große Babel, die ich mir erbaut habe zur königlichen Residenz, kraft meines Reichtums und zu Ehren meiner Majestät?»

[was] replying King the and [was] saying ¿ not [is] this it Babylon great which I I built it to a house of a kingdom by [the] strength of power my and for [the] honor of majesty my.

31 Noch war dieses Wort im Munde des Königs, da erscholl eine Stimme vom Himmel herab: «Dir wird gesagt, König Nebukadnezar: Das Königreich ist von dir genommen!

Still word the [was] in [the] mouth of king the a voice from heavens the it fell to you [they are] saying O Nebuchadnezzar king the kingdom the it has passed away from you.

32 Und man wird dich von den Menschen verstoßen, und du sollst bei den Tieren des Feldes wohnen; mit Gras wird man dich füttern wie die Ochsen, und sieben Zeiten sollen über dir vergehen, bis du erkennst, daß der Höchste Gewalt hat über das Königtum der Menschen und es gibt, wem er will!»

And away from humankind you [they are] about to chase and [will be] with [the] animal[s] of field the dwelling place your grass like oxen to you they will feed and seven times they will pass (over you *Q(k)*) until that you will know that [is] having mastery (Most High the *Q(k)*) over [the] kingdom of humankind and to whomever whom he will be pleased he will give it.

33 Im selben Augenblick erfüllte sich das Wort an Nebukadnezar: er ward von den Menschen ausgestoßen, fraß Gras wie ein Ochse, und sein Leib ward vom Tau des Himmels benetzt, bis sein Haar so lang ward wie Adlerfedern und seine Nägel wie Vogelkrallen.

At it moment the word the it was fulfilled on Nebuchadnezzar and away from humankind he was chased and grass like oxen he ate and from [the] dew of heavens the body his it became wet until that hair his like eagles it grew long and nails his [were] like birds.

34 Aber nach Verlauf der Zeit hob ich, Nebukadnezar, meine Augen zum Himmel empor, und mein Verstand kehrte zu mir zurück. Da lobte ich den Höchsten und pries den, der ewig lebt, und verherrlichte ihn, dessen Herrschaft eine ewige ist und dessen Reich von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht währt;

And to [the] end of days the I Nebuchadnezzar eye my - to heavens the I lifted and understanding my on me it returned (and Most High the *Q(k)*) I blessed and [the] [one] living of perpetuity I praised and I glorified that dominion his [is] a dominion of perpetuity and kingdom his [is] with generation and generation.

35 gegen welchen alle, die auf Erden wohnen, wie nichts zu rechnen sind; er verfährt, wie er will, mit dem Heer des Himmels und mit denen, die auf Erden wohnen, und niemand ist, der seiner Hand wehren, noch zu ihm sagen dürfte: Was machst du?

And all ([the] inhabitants of *Q(k)*) earth the [are] as not considered and as pleases he [he is] doing with [the] army of heavens the (and [the] inhabitants of *Q(k)*) earth the and not there [is] who he will strike on hand his so he may say to him what? have you done.

36 Zu derselben Zeit, als mir mein Verstand wiederkam, kehrte mit der königlichen Ehre auch meine Würde und mein gutes Aussehen wieder; meine Räte und Großen suchten mich auf, und ich ward wieder über mein Königreich gesetzt und erhielt noch größere Macht.

At it time the understanding my - it returned to me and to [the] honor of kingdom my majesty my and splendor my it returned to me and me counselors my and nobles my they sought and over kingdom my it was established and greatness surpassing it was added to me.

37 Nun lobe und erhebe und verherrliche ich, Nebukadnezar, den König des Himmels; denn all sein Tun ist richtig, und seine Wege sind gerecht; wer aber stolz einhergeht, den kann er demütigen!

Now I Nebuchadnezzar [am] praising and [am] lifting up and [am] glorifying [the] king of heavens the who all deeds his [are] truth and ways his [are] justice and [those] who [are] walking in pride [he is] able to bring low.
