Apostelgeschichte 1
1 Den ersten Bericht habe ich abgelegt, lieber Theophilus, über alles, was Jesus zu tun und zu lehren begonnen hat,
THE former treatise, Theophilus, I composed, concerning all things which Jesus began both to do and to teach,
2 bis zu dem Tage, da er [in den Himmel] aufgenommen wurde, nachdem er den Aposteln, die er erwählt hatte, durch den heiligen Geist Befehl gegeben;
until that day, when having given a charge to his apostles through the Holy Ghost, whom he had chosen, he was taken up:
3 welchen er sich auch nach seinem Leiden lebendig erzeigte, durch viele sichere Kennzeichen, indem er während vierzig Tagen ihnen erschien und über das Reich Gottes redete.
to whom also he had shewed himself alive, after he had suffered, by many infallible proofs, during forty days being frequently seen by them, and speaking of the things which relate to the kingdom of God:
4 Und als er mit ihnen zusammen war, gebot er ihnen, von Jerusalem nicht zu weichen, sondern die Verheißung des Vaters abzuwarten, welche ihr, [so sprach er], von mir vernommen habt,
and assembling them together, commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, ye have heard from me.
5 denn Johannes hat mit Wasser getauft, ihr aber sollt im heiligen Geiste getauft werden, nicht lange nach diesen Tagen.
For John indeed baptised with water; but ye shall be baptised with the Holy Ghost not many days after the present.
6 Die nun zusammengekommen waren, fragten ihn und sprachen: Herr, gibst du in dieser Zeit Israel die Königsherrschaft wieder?
They then accordingly assembling together, asked him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time reestablish the kingdom of Israel?
7 Er sprach zu ihnen: Es ist nicht eure Sache, Zeiten oder Stunden zu kennen, welche der Vater in seiner eigenen Macht festgesetzt hat;
But he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times and the seasons, which the Father hath reserved under his own authority.
8 sondern ihr werdet Kraft empfangen, wenn der heilige Geist über euch kommt, und werdet Zeugen für mich sein in Jerusalem und in ganz Judäa und Samaria und bis ans Ende der Erde!
But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses for me, both in Jerusalem, and throughout all Judea, and Samaria, and unto the extremity of the earth.
9 Und nach diesen Worten wurde er vor ihren Augen emporgehoben, und eine Wolke nahm ihn auf und vor ihren Augen weg.
And as he was speaking these things, while they were looking upon him, he was taken up; and a cloud enveloping him hid him from their eyes.
10 Und als sie unverwandt gen Himmel blickten, während er dahinfuhr, siehe, da standen zwei Männer in weißen Kleidern bei ihnen, die sprachen:
And as they looked up earnestly into the heaven, while he was passing, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Ihr Männer von Galiläa, was steht ihr hier und seht gen Himmel? Dieser Jesus, der von euch weg in den Himmel aufgenommen worden ist, wird in gleicher Weise wiederkommen, wie ihr ihn habt gen Himmel fahren sehen.
who also said to them, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up to heaven? this Jesus, who hath been taken up from you into heaven, shall so come, in the same manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
12 Da kehrten sie nach Jerusalem zurück von dem Berge, welcher Ölberg heißt, der nahe bei Jerusalem liegt, einen Sabbatweg entfernt.
Then they returned unto Jerusalem, from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, about a sabbath-day’s journey distant.
13 Und als sie hineinkamen, gingen sie hinauf in das Obergemach, wo sie verblieben, nämlich Petrus und Johannes und Jakobus und Andreas, Philippus und Thomas, Bartholomäus und Matthäus, Jakobus, der Sohn des Alphäus, und Simon Zelotes und Judas, des Jakobus Sohn.
And when they had arrived, they went up to an upper room, where abode Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James son of Alpheus, and Simon the zealous, and Jude brother to James.
14 Diese alle verharrten einmütig im Gebet, samt den Frauen und Maria, der Mutter Jesu, und seinen Brüdern.
These all persevered unanimously in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15 Und in diesen Tagen stand Petrus mitten unter den Jüngern auf und sprach (es waren aber etwa hundertzwanzig Personen beisammen):
And in those days arose Peter in the midst of the disciples, and said, (there was a number of persons together, about an hundred and twenty, )
16 Ihr Männer und Brüder, es mußte das Wort der Schrift erfüllt werden, das der heilige Geist durch den Mund Davids vorausgesagt hat über Judas, welcher denen, die Jesus gefangennahmen, zum Wegweiser wurde.
Men and brethren, it must needs be that this scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost delivered before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was the conductor of those who seized on Jesus.
17 Denn er war uns beigezählt und hatte das Los dieses Dienstes empfangen.
For he was reckoned of our number, and had obtained an appointment to this ministry.
18 Dieser erwarb einen Acker aus dem Lohn der Ungerechtigkeit und stürzte kopfüber hinab, barst mitten entzwei, und alle seine Eingeweide traten heraus.
This man indeed accordingly purchased a spot of ground with the wages of iniquity; and projected forward, he burst in the midst, and all his bowels fell out.
19 Und es wurde allen kund, die zu Jerusalem wohnen, so daß jener Acker in ihrer Sprache Akeldama genannt wurde, das heißt: Blutacker.
And it was a fact known to all who dwelt at Jerusalem; so that this field is called in their own dialect, Aceldama, that is, The field of blood.
20 Denn es steht geschrieben im Buche der Psalmen: «Seine Behausung soll öde werden, und niemand soll darin wohnen», und: «sein Amt empfange ein anderer.»
For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let there be no man to dwell in it: and his office, as bishop, let another take.
21 So muß nun von den Männern, die mit uns gegangen sind die ganze Zeit über, da der Herr Jesus unter uns ein und ausging,
Wherefore from among the men who have associated with us always during the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22 von der Taufe des Johannes an bis zu dem Tage, da er von uns hinweg aufgenommen wurde, einer von diesen muß mit uns Zeuge seiner Auferstehung werden.
beginning from his baptism by John, until the day in which he was taken up from us, must there be chosen with us a witness of his resurrection, even one of these.
23 Und sie stellten zwei dar, Joseph, genannt Barsabas, mit Zunamen Justus, und Matthias,
So they appointed two persons, Joseph called Barsabas, whose sirname was Justus, and Matthias.
24 beteten und sprachen: Herr, du Kenner aller Herzen, zeige an, welchen von diesen beiden du erwählt hast,
And joining in prayer, they said, Do thou, O Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, point out the one of these two which thou hast chosen,
25 das Los dieses Dienstes und Apostelamtes zu empfangen, von welchem Judas abgetreten ist, um hinzugehen an seinen Ort.
to take a part in this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, to go to his own place.
26 Und sie gaben ihnen Lose, und das Los fiel auf Matthias, und er wurde zu den elf Aposteln hinzugewählt.
And they drew lots for them and the lot fell to Matthias and he was by unanimous suffrage numbered with the eleven apostles.
