1 Und Elisa redete mit dem Weibe, deren Sohn er lebendig gemacht hatte, und sprach: Mache dich auf und gehe hin mit deinem Haushalt und halte dich in der Fremde auf, wo du kannst! Denn der HERR hat eine Hungersnot herbeigerufen. Und sie kommt auch in das Land, sieben Jahre lang.

Then spake Elisha vnto the woman, whose sonne he had restored to life, saying, Vp, and goe, thou, and thine house, and soiourne where thou canst soiourne: for the Lord hath called for a famine, and it commeth also vpon the land seuen yeeres.

2 Das Weib machte sich auf und tat, wie der Mann Gottes sagte, und zog hin mit ihren Hausgenossen und hielt sich im Lande der Philister auf, sieben Jahre lang.

And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God, and went both shee and her housholde and soiourned in the lande of the Philistims seuen yeeres.

3 Als aber die sieben Jahre vorbei waren, kam das Weib wieder aus dem Lande der Philister, und sie ging hin, um den König wegen ihres Hauses und wegen ihres Ackers anzurufen.

And at the seuen yeeres ende, the woman returned out of the lande of the Philistims, and went out to call vpon the King for her house and for her land.

4 Der König aber redete eben mit Gehasi, dem Knechte des Mannes Gottes, und sprach: Erzähle mir doch alle die großen Taten, welche Elisa getan hat!

And the King talked with Gehazi the seruant of the man of God, saying, Tell mee, I pray thee, all the great actes, that Elisha hath done.

5 Während er aber dem Könige erzählte, wie jener einen Toten lebendig gemacht hatte, siehe, da kam eben das Weib, deren Sohn er lebendig gemacht hatte, dazu und rief den König an wegen ihres Hauses und wegen ihres Ackers. Da sprach Gehasi: Mein Herr und König, hier ist das Weib, und dies ist ihr Sohn, den Elisa lebendig gemacht hat!

And as he told the King, howe he had restored one dead to life, behold, the woman, whose sonne he had raised to life, called vpon the King for her house and for her land. Then Gehazi sayd, My lorde, O King, this is the woman, and this is her sonne, whom Elisha restored to life.

6 Da fragte der König das Weib, und sie erzählte es ihm. Da gab ihr der König einen Kämmerer und sprach: Verschaffe ihr alles wieder, was ihr gehört; dazu allen Ertrag des Ackers seit der Zeit, da sie das Land verlassen hat, bis jetzt.

And when the King asked the woman, shee told him: so the King appoynted her an Eunuch, saying, Restore thou all that are hers, and all the fruites of her landes since the day shee left the land, euen vntill this time.

7 Und Elisa kam nach Damaskus. Da lag Benhadad, der König von Syrien, krank. Und man sagte es ihm und sprach: Der Mann Gottes ist hierher gekommen!

Then Elisha came to Damascus, and Ben-hadad the King of Aram was sicke, and one told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.

8 Da sprach der König zu Hasael: Nimm Geschenke mit dir und gehe dem Manne Gottes entgegen und befrage den HERRN durch ihn und sprich: Werde ich von dieser Krankheit genesen können?

And the king sayd vnto Hazael, Take a present in thine hande, and goe meete the man of God, that thou mayest inquire of ye Lord by him, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?

9 Hasael ging ihm entgegen und nahm Geschenke mit sich und allerlei Güter von Damaskus, eine Last für vierzig Kamele. Und als er kam, trat er vor ihn hin und sprach: Dein Sohn Benhadad, der König von Syrien, hat mich zu dir gesandt und läßt dir sagen: Kann ich auch von dieser Krankheit genesen?

So Hazael went to meete him, and tooke the present in his hand, and of euery good thing of Damascus, euen the burden of fourtie camels, and came and stood before him, and sayde, Thy sonne Ben-hadad King of Aram hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?

10 Elisa sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin und sage ihm: Du wirst genesen! Aber der HERR hat mir gezeigt, daß er gewiß sterben wird.

And Elisha sayd to him, Goe, and say vnto him, Thou shalt recouer: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me, that he shall surely dye.

11 Und der Mann Gottes richtete sein Angesicht auf ihn und starrte ihn unverwandt an, bis er sich schämte; dann weinte er.

And hee looked vpon him stedfastly, till Hazael was ashamed, and the man of God wept.

12 Da sprach Hasael: Warum weint mein Herr? Er sprach: Weil ich weiß, was für Unheil du den Kindern Israel antun wirst! Du wirst ihre festen Städte mit Feuer verbrennen und ihre junge Mannschaft mit dem Schwert töten und ihre Kindlein zerschmettern und die Frauen aufschlitzen, die guter Hoffnung sind.

And Hazael sayde, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I knowe the euill that thou shalt do vnto the children of Israel: for their strong cities shalt thou set on fire, and their yong men shalt thou slay with the sworde, and shalt dash their infantes against the stones, and rent in pieces their women with child.

13 Hasael sprach: Was ist dein Knecht, der Hund, daß er solch große Dinge tun sollte? Elisa sprach: Der HERR hat mir gezeigt, daß du König über Syrien wirst!

Then Hazael said, What? is thy seruant a dog, that I should doe this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord hath shewed mee, that thou shalt be King of Aram.

14 Und er ging von Elisa weg und kam zu seinem Herrn; der sprach zu ihm: Was sagte dir Elisa? Er sprach: Er sagte mir, du werdest gewiß genesen!

So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What saide Elisha to thee? And he answered, Hee tolde mee that thou shouldest recouer.

15 Am folgenden Tage aber nahm er die Decke und tauchte sie ins Wasser und breitete sie über sein Angesicht, so daß er starb. Und Hasael ward König an seiner Statt.

And on the morow he tooke a thick cloth and dipt in it water, and spread it on his face, and hee dyed: and Hazael reigned in his stead.

16 Im fünften Jahre Jorams, des Sohnes Ahabs, des Königs von Israel, ward Jehoram, der Sohn Josaphats, König in Juda.

Now in the fift yere of Ioram ye sonne of Ahab King of Israel, and of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Iehoram the sonne of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah began to reigne.

17 Zweiunddreißig Jahre alt war er, als er König ward, und regierte acht Jahre lang zu Jerusalem.

He was two and thirtie yere olde, when he began to reigne: and hee reigned eight yeere in Ierusalem.

18 Und er wandelte auf dem Wege der Könige von Israel, wie das Haus Ahabs tat; denn die Tochter Ahabs war sein Weib, und er tat, was dem HERRN übel gefiel.

And hee walked in the wayes of the Kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife, and hee did euill in the sight of the Lord.

19 Aber der HERR wollte Juda nicht verderben, um seines Knechtes David willen, wie er ihm verheißen hatte, ihm unter seinen Söhnen eine Leuchte zu geben immerdar.

Yet the Lord would not destroy Iudah, for Dauid his seruants sake, as he had promised him to giue him a light, and to his children for euer.

20 Zu seiner Zeit fielen die Edomiter von Juda ab und machten einen König über sich.

In those dayes Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah, and made a King ouer themselues.

21 Da zog Jehoram gen Zair und alle Wagen mit ihm; und er machte sich auf bei Nacht und schlug die Edomiter, die ihn und die Obersten über die Wagen umzingelt hatten, so daß das Volk in seine Hütten floh.

Therefore Ioram went to Zair, and all his charets with him, and he arose by night, and smote the Edomites which were about him with the captains of the charets, and the people fled into their tents.

22 Dennoch fielen die Edomiter von Juda ab bis auf diesen Tag. Auch Libna fiel zu jener Zeit ab.

So Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah vnto this day. then Libnah rebelled at that same time.

23 Was aber mehr von Jehoram zu sagen ist, und alles, was er getan hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Juda?

Concerning the rest of the actes of Ioram and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

24 Und Jehoram legte sich zu seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids; und Ahasia, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.

And Ioram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid. And Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.

25 Im elften Jahre Jorams, des Sohnes Ahabs, des Königs von Israel, wurde Ahasia, der Sohn Jehorams, König in Juda.

In the twelft yere of Ioram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel did Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah begin to reigne.

26 Zweiundzwanzig Jahre alt war Ahasia, als er König ward, und regierte ein Jahr lang zu Jerusalem. Und seine Mutter hieß Atalia, eine Tochter Omris, des Königs von Israel.

Two and twentie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri King of Israel.

27 Und er wandelte auf dem Wege des Hauses Ahabs und tat, was böse war in den Augen des HERRN, wie das Haus Ahabs; denn er war Tochtermann im Hause Ahabs.

And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for hee was the sonne in law of the house of Ahab.

28 Und er zog mit Joram, dem Sohne Ahabs, in den Krieg wider Hasael, den König von Syrien, nach Ramot in Gilead; aber die Syrer verwundeten Joram.

And he went with Ioram the sonne of Ahab to warre against Hazael King of Aram in Ramoth Gilead, and the Aramites smote Ioram.

29 Da kehrte der König Joram zurück, um sich zu Jesreel heilen zu lassen von den Wunden, welche ihm die Syrer in Ramot geschlagen hatten, als er mit Hasael, dem König von Syrien, stritt. Und Ahasia, der Sohn Jehorams, der König in Juda, kam hinab, um Joram, den Sohn Ahabs, in Jesreel zu besuchen; denn er lag krank.

And King Ioram returned to bee healed in Izreel of the wounds which ye Aramites had giuen him at Ramah, whe he fought against Hazael King of Aram. And Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Ioram the sonne of Ahab in Izreel, because he was sicke.
