1 Und es begab sich im neunten Jahre seines Königreichs, am zehnten Tage des zehnten Monats, da kam Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, mit aller seiner Macht wider Jerusalem und belagerte die Stadt; und sie bauten Belagerungstürme um sie her.
And it came to pass, in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came—he and all his force, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it, —and they built against it a siege wall, round about.
2 Und die Stadt wurde belagert bis ins elfte Jahr des Königs Zedekia.
And the city came into the siege, —until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.
3 Am neunten Tage des [vierten] Monats aber ward die Hungersnot in der Stadt so stark, daß das Landvolk nichts zu essen hatte.
On the ninth of the month, when the famine had become severe in the city, —and there had come to be no bread for the people of the land,
4 Da brach [der Feind] in die Stadt ein, und alle Kriegsleute flohen bei Nacht durch das Tor zwischen den beiden Mauern, beim Garten des Königs; und da die Chaldäer rings um die Stadt her lagen, zog man den Weg nach der Ebene.
then was the city broken up, and all the men of war [fled] by night by way of the gate between the two walls, which is by the garden of the king, the Chaldeans being near the city round about, —and he went the way of the Waste Plain;
5 Aber das Heer der Chaldäer jagte dem König nach und holte ihn ein auf den Ebenen von Jericho, nachdem sein ganzes Heer sich von ihm zerstreut hatte.
and the force of the Chaldeans, pursued, the king, and overtook him in the Waste Plains of Jericho, —and, all his force, was scattered from him.
6 Sie aber fingen den König und führten ihn hinauf zum König von Babel nach Ribla und sprachen das Urteil über ihn.
So they seized the king, and brought him up unto the king of Babylon, at Riblah, —and they pronounced upon him sentence of judgment.
7 Und sie metzelten Zedekias Söhne vor dessen Augen nieder; darnach blendeten sie Zedekia und banden ihn mit zwei ehernen Ketten und führten ihn nach Babel.
And, the sons of Zedekiah, they slew before his eyes, —and, the eyes of Zedekiah, put they out, and then bound him with fetters of bronze, and brought him into Babylon.
8 Am siebenten Tage des fünften Monats (das ist das neunzehnte Jahr Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babel), kam Nebusaradan, der Oberste der Leibwache, der Diener des Königs von Babel,
And, in the fifth month, on the seventh of the month, the same, was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, chief of the royal executioners, servant of the king of Babylon, to Jerusalem;
9 nach Jerusalem und verbrannte das Haus des HERRN und das Haus des Königs und alle Häuser zu Jerusalem, und alle großen Häuser verbrannte er mit Feuer.
and burned the house of Yahweh, and the house of the king, —yea, all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great man’s house, burned he with fire.
10 Und das ganze Heer der Chaldäer, das bei dem Obersten der Leibwache war, riß die Mauern der Stadt Jerusalem ringsum nieder.
And, the walls of Jerusalem round about, did all the force of the Chaldeans who were with the chief of the royal executioners, break down.
11 Den Rest des Volkes aber, der in der Stadt noch übriggeblieben war, und die Überläufer, welche zum König von Babel übergegangen waren, und den Rest der Menge führte Nebusaradan, der Oberste der Leibwache, hinweg.
And, the residue of the people who were left in the city, and the disheartened who fell away unto the king of Babylon, and the residue of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan, chief of the royal executioners, carry away captive.
12 Doch von den Geringsten im Lande ließ der Oberste der Leibwache Weingärtner und Ackerleute zurück.
But, of the poorest of the land, did the chief of the royal executioners, leave, for vine-dressers and for husbandmen.
13 Aber die ehernen Säulen am Hause des HERRN und die Ständer und das eherne Meer, das im Hause des HERRN war, zerbrachen die Chaldäer und führten das Erz nach Babel.
And, the pillars of bronze that were in the house of Yahweh, and the stands, and the sea of bronze which was in the house of Yahweh, the Chaldeans brake in pieces, and they carried away the bronze of them to Babylon;
14 Auch die Töpfe, Schaufeln, Messer, Schalen und alle ehernen Geräte, womit man diente, nahmen sie weg.
and, the caldrons, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, even all the utensils of bronze wherewith ministration used to be made, did they take away;
15 Dazu nahm der Oberste der Leibwache die Räucherpfannen und Sprengschalen, alles, was von Gold, und alles, was von Silber war.
and, the sprinkling pans and the dashing bowls which were of gold, in gold, and which were of silver, in silver, did, the chief of the royal executions, take away.
16 Die beiden Säulen, das eine Meer und die Ständer, welche Salomo zum Hause des HERRN gemacht hatte, das Erz aller dieser Geräte war nicht zu wägen.
As for the two pillars the one sea and the stands which Solomon made for the house of Yahweh, without weight, was the bronze of all these things.
17 Achtzehn Ellen hoch war eine Säule, und es war auf ihr ein Knauf von Erz, drei Ellen hoch, und um den Knauf ein Netzwerk und Granatäpfel, ganz von Erz. Ebensolche [Granatäpfel] hatte auch die andere Säule um das Netzwerk.
Eighteen cubits, was the height of each pillar, and, the capital thereupon was of bronze, and, the height of the capital, was three cubits, and, the lattice-work and pomegranates upon the capital round about, the whole, was of bronze; and, like these, had the second pillar, upon the lattice-work.
18 Und der Oberste der Leibwache nahm Seraja, den Hauptpriester, und Zephanja, den zweiten Priester, und die drei Schwellenhüter;
And the chief of the royal executioners took Seraiah the head priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, —and the three keepers of the entrance hall;
19 er nahm auch einen Kämmerer aus der Stadt, der über die Kriegsleute gesetzt war, und fünf Männer, die stets vor dem König waren, die in der Stadt gefunden wurden, und den Schreiber, den Feldhauptmann, der das Volk des Landes zum Heere aushob, und sechzig Männer von dem Landvolk, die in der Stadt gefunden wurden;
and, out of the city, took he one courtier who himself was set over the men of war, and five men of them who were wont to see the face of the king, who were found in the city, and the scribe—general of the army, who used to muster the people of the land, —and sixty men of the people of the land, who were found in the city;
20 diese nahm Nebusaradan, der Oberste der Leibwache, und brachte sie zum König von Babel, nach Ribla.
and Nebuzaradan, chief of the royal executioners, took them, —and brought them unto the king of Babylon, at Riblah;
21 Und der König von Babel schlug sie tot zu Ribla im Lande Chamat. Also ward Juda aus seinem Lande gefangen hinweggeführt.
and the king of Babylon smote them and slew them in Riblah, in the land of Hamath, —and thus Judah disappeared from off their own soil.
22 Über das Volk aber, das im Lande Juda blieb, das Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, übriggelassen hatte, setzte er Gedalja, den Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans.
But, as for the people who were left in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon left remaining, he set over them Gedaliah, son of Ahikam son of Shaphan.
23 Als nun alle Obersten des Heeres und ihre Leute hörten, daß der König von Babel den Gedalja eingesetzt hatte, kamen sie zu Gedalja gen Mizpa; nämlich Ismael, der Sohn Netanjas, und Johanan, der Sohn Kareachs, und Seraja, der Sohn Tanchumets, des Netophatiters, und Jaasanja, der Sohn des Maachatiters, samt ihren Männern.
And, when all the generals of the forces, they and the men, heard that the king of Babylon had given oversight unto Gedaliah, then came they in unto Gedaliah, at Mizpah, —even Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and Johanan son of Kareah, and Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah son of a Maacathite, they and their men.
24 Und Gedalja schwur ihnen und ihren Männern und sprach zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht vor den Knechten der Chaldäer; bleibet im Lande und seid dem König von Babel untertan, so wird es euch wohlgehen!
And Gedaliah sware unto them, and to their men, and said to them, Do not fear because of the servants of the Chaldeans, —dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.
25 Aber im siebenten Monat kam Ismael, der Sohn Netanjas, des Sohnes Elisamas, von königlichem Geschlecht, und zehn Männer mit ihm und schlugen Gedalja tot; dazu die Juden und die Chaldäer, die zu Mizpa bei ihm waren.
And it came to pass, in the seventh month, that Ishmael son of Nethaniah a son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, —and the Jews and the Chaldeans who were with him at Mizpah.
26 Da machte sich alles Volk, klein und groß, und die Obersten des Heeres auf und zogen nach Ägypten; denn sie fürchteten sich vor den Chaldäern.
Then arose all the people, both small and great, and the generals of the forces, and came into Egypt, —for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.
27 Aber im siebenunddreißigsten Jahre, nachdem Jehojachin, der König von Juda, gefangen hinweggeführt worden, am siebenundzwanzigsten Tage des zwölften Monats, erhob Evil-Merodach, der König von Babel, im ersten Jahre seiner Regierung das Haupt Jehojachins, des Königs von Juda, [und entließ ihn] aus dem Kerker;
And it came to pass, in the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, —that Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, out of prison;
28 und redete freundlich mit ihm und setzte seinen Thron über die Throne der Könige, die bei ihm zu Babel waren;
and he spake with him kind words, —and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon;
29 und er ließ ihn seine Gefängniskleider ablegen; und er durfte stets vor ihm essen, sein ganzes Leben lang.
and changed his prison garments, —and he did eat bread continually before him, all the days of his life.
30 Und sein Unterhalt, der beständige Unterhalt, ward ihm vom König gegeben, für jeden Tag sein bestimmtes Teil, sein ganzes Leben lang.
And, as his allowance, a continual portion, was given him, from the king, the provision of a day upon its own day, —all the days of his life.
