1 Zu seiner Zeit zog Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, herauf, und Jehojakim ward ihm untertan drei Jahre lang. Darnach fiel er wieder von ihm ab.

In his days hath Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon come up, and Jehoiakim is to him a servant three years; and he turneth and rebelleth against him,

2 Da sandte der HERR Truppen wider ihn aus Chaldäa, aus Syrien, aus Moab und von den Kindern Ammon; die sandte er gegen Juda, um es zugrunde zu richten, nach dem Worte des HERRN, das er durch seine Knechte, die Propheten, geredet hatte.

and Jehovah sendeth against him the troops of the Chaldeans, and the troops of Aram, and the troops of Moab, and the troops of the sons of Ammon, and He sendeth them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Jehovah, that He spake by the hand of His servants the prophets;

3 Fürwahr, nach dem Worte des HERRN kam das über Juda, daß er sie von seinem Angesicht täte, um der Sünden Manasses willen, für all das, was er getan hatte;

only, by the command of Jehovah it hath been against Judah to turn [them] aside from His presence, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,

4 und auch um des unschuldigen Blutes willen, das er vergossen, da er Jerusalem mit unschuldigem Blute erfüllt hatte; darum wollte der HERR nicht vergeben.

and also the innocent blood that he hath shed, and he filleth Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Jehovah was not willing to forgive.

5 Was aber mehr von Jehojakim zu sagen ist, und alles, was er getan hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Juda?

And the rest of the matters of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

6 Und Jehojakim legte sich zu seinen Vätern. Und Jehojachin, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.

And Jehoiakim lieth with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigneth in his stead.

7 Aber der König von Ägypten zog nicht mehr aus seinem Lande; denn der König von Babel hatte alles eingenommen, was dem König von Ägypten gehörte, vom Bache Ägyptens bis an den Euphratstrom.

And the king of Egypt hath not added any more to go out from his own land, for the king of Babylon hath taken, from the brook of Egypt unto the river Phrat, all that had been to the king of Egypt.

8 Achtzehn Jahre alt war Jehojachin, als er König ward, und regierte drei Monate lang zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Nehusta, die Tochter Elnatans von Jerusalem.

A son of eighteen years [is] Jehoiachin in his reigning, and three months he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Nehushta, daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem,

9 Er tat aber, was dem HERRN mißfiel, ganz wie sein Vater getan hatte.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his fathers did.

10 Zu jener Zeit zogen die Knechte Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babel, gen Jerusalem herauf, und die Stadt ward belagert.

At that time come up have servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Jerusalem, and the city goeth into siege,

11 Und Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, kam zur Stadt, und seine Knechte belagerten sie.

and Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon cometh against the city, and his servants are laying siege to it,

12 Aber Jehojachin, der König von Juda, ging zum König von Babel hinaus, er samt seiner Mutter, seinen Knechten, seinen Obersten und seinen Kämmerern; und der König von Babel nahm ihn gefangen im achten Jahre seiner Regierung.

and Jehoiachin king of Judah goeth out unto the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his chiefs, and his eunuchs, and the king of Babylon taketh him in the eighth year of his reign,

13 Und er brachte von dannen heraus alle Schätze im Hause des HERRN und die Schätze im Hause des Königs und zerschlug alle goldenen Geräte, welche Salomo, der König von Israel, im Tempel des HERRN gemacht; wie der HERR gesagt hatte.

and bringeth out thence all the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the house of the king, and cutteth in pieces all the vessels of gold that Solomon king of Israel made in the temple of Jehovah, as Jehovah had spoken.

14 Und er führte ganz Jerusalem gefangen hinweg, nämlich alle Obersten und alle kriegstüchtigen Männer, zehntausend Gefangene, auch alle Schlosser und alle Schmiede, und ließ nichts übrig als geringes Landvolk.

And he hath removed all Jerusalem, and all the chiefs, and all the mighty ones of valour — ten thousand [is] the removal — and every artificer and smith, none hath been left save the poor of the people of the land.

15 Also führte er Jehojachin nach Babel hinweg, auch die Mutter des Königs und die Frauen des Königs und seine Kämmerer. Dazu führte er die Mächtigen des Landes von Jerusalem gefangen nach Babel,

And he removeth Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the mother of the king, and the wives of the king, and his eunuchs, and the mighty ones of the land — he hath caused a removal to go from Jerusalem to Babylon,

16 auch alle Kriegsleute, siebentausend, dazu die Schlosser und die Schmiede, im ganzen tausend, alles kriegstüchtige Männer; und der König von Babel brachte sie gefangen nach Babel.

and all the men of valour seven thousand, and the artificers and the smiths a thousand, the whole [are] mighty men, warriors; and the king of Babylon bringeth them in a captivity to Babylon.

17 Und der König von Babel machte Matanja, Jehojachins Oheim, zum König an seiner Statt, und änderte seinen Namen in Zedekia.

And the king of Babylon causeth Mattaniah his father's brother to reign in his stead, and turneth his name to Zedekiah.

18 Einundzwanzig Jahre alt war Zedekia, als er König ward, und regierte elf Jahre zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Hamutal, die Tochter Jeremias von Libna.

A son of twenty and one years [is] Zedekiah in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Hamutal daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah,

19 Und er tat, was dem HERRN mißfiel, ganz wie Jehojachin getan hatte.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah according to all that Jehoiakim did,

20 Denn wegen des Zornes des HERRN kam es so weit mit Jerusalem und Juda, daß er sie von seinem Angesicht verwarf. Und Zedekia fiel ab von dem König zu Babel.

for, by the anger of Jehovah it hath been against Jerusalem and against Judah, till he cast them out from His presence, that Zedekiah rebelleth against the king of Babylon.
