2 Chronik 7

1 Als nun Salomo sein Gebet vollendet hatte, fiel das Feuer vom Himmel und verzehrte das Brandopfer und die Schlachtopfer. Und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN erfüllte das Haus;

And when Solomon had finished praying, then the fire came down from heaven, and devoured the whole burnt offerings and the sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.

2 also daß die Priester nicht in das Haus des HERRN hineingehen konnten, weil die Herrlichkeit des HERRN das Haus des HERRN erfüllte.

And the priests could not enter into the house of the Lord at that time, for the glory of the Lord filled the house.

3 Als aber alle Kinder Israel das Feuer herabfallen sahen und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN über dem Hause, fielen sie auf ihre Knie, mit dem Angesicht zur Erde, auf das Pflaster, und beteten an und dankten dem HERRN, daß er freundlich ist und seine Güte ewiglich währt.

And all the children of Israel saw the fire descending, and the glory of the Lord was upon the house: and they fell upon their face to the ground on the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the Lord; for [it is] good [to do so], because his mercy [endures] for ever.

4 Und der König und alles Volk opferten Schlachtopfer vor dem HERRN.

And the king and all the people [were] offering sacrifices before the Lord.

5 Der König Salomo opferte als Schlachtopfer 22000 Rinder und 120000 Schafe. Also weihten der König und das ganze Volk das Haus Gottes ein.

And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of calves twenty and two thousand, of sheep a hundred and twenty thousand: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

6 Die Priester aber standen auf ihren Posten und die Leviten mit den Musikinstrumenten des HERRN, welche der König David hatte machen lassen, um dem HERRN zu danken, daß seine Güte ewig währt, wenn David durch sie den Lobpreis darbrachte. Und die Priester bliesen die Trompeten, ihnen gegenüber, und ganz Israel stand dabei.

And the priests were standing at their watches, and the Levites with instruments of music of the Lord, belonging to king David, to give thanks before the Lord, for his mercy [endures] for ever, with the hymns of David, by their ministry: and the priests were blowing the trumpets before them, and all Israel standing.

7 Und Salomo heiligte den innern Vorhof, der vor dem Hause des HERRN war; denn er brachte daselbst Brandopfer dar und die Fettstücke der Dankopfer; denn der eherne Altar, welchen Salomo hatte machen lassen, konnte die Brandopfer und Speisopfer und die Fettstücke nicht fassen.

And Solomon consecrated the middle of the court that was in the house of the Lord: for he offered there the whole burnt offerings and the fat of the peace-offerings, for the brazen altar which Solomon had made was not sufficient to receive the whole burnt offerings, and the meat-offerings, and the fat.

8 Und zu jener Zeit hielt Salomo ein Fest, sieben Tage lang, und ganz Israel mit ihm, eine sehr große Gemeinde, von Chamat an bis an den Bach Ägyptens;

And Solomon kept the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great assembly, from the entering in of Aemath, and as far as the river of Egypt.

9 und sie hielten am achten Tage eine Festversammlung. Denn die Einweihung des Altars hatten sie sieben Tage lang gefeiert und das Fest auch sieben Tage lang.

And on the eighth day he kept a solemn assembly: for he kept a feast of seven days as the dedication of the altar.

10 Aber am dreiundzwanzigsten Tage des siebenten Monats ließ er das Volk in ihre Hütten ziehen, fröhlich und guten Muts, wegen all des Guten, das der HERR an David, Salomo und seinem Volk Israel getan.

And on the twenty-third day of the seventh month he dismissed the people to their tents, rejoicing, and with a glad heart because of the good deeds which the Lord had done to David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

11 Als nun Salomo das Haus des HERRN und das Haus des Königs vollendet hatte und alles glücklich ausgeführt war, was in Salomos Herz gekommen war, es im Hause des HERRN und in seinem Hause zu machen,

So Solomon finished the house of the Lord, and the king's house: and in whatever Solomon wished in his heart to do in the house of the Lord and in his own house, he prospered.

12 da erschien der HERR dem Salomo in der Nacht und sprach zu ihm: Ich habe dein Gebet erhört und mir diesen Ort zur Opferstätte erwählt.

And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, I have heard your prayer, and I have chosen this place to myself for a house of sacrifice.

13 Siehe, wenn ich den Himmel zuschließe, daß es nicht regnet, oder den Heuschrecken gebiete, das Land abzufressen, oder wenn ich eine Pestilenz unter mein Volk sende,

If I should restrain the heaven and there should be no rain, and if I should command the locust to devour the trees, and if I should send pestilence upon my people;

14 und sich mein Volk, das nach meinem Namen genannt ist, demütigt, und sie beten und suchen mein Angesicht und wenden sich ab von ihren bösen Wegen, so will ich im Himmel hören und ihre Sünden vergeben und ihr Land heilen.

then if my people, on whom my name is called, should repent, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways, I also will hear from heaven, and I will be merciful to their sins, and I will heal their land.

15 So sollen nun meine Augen offen stehen und meine Ohren aufmerken auf das Gebet an diesem Ort.

And now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive to the prayer of this place.

16 Ich habe nun dieses Haus erwählt und geheiligt, daß mein Name daselbst sein soll ewiglich; und meine Augen und mein Herz sollen da sein täglich.

And now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that my name should be there for ever: and my eyes and my heart shall be there always.

17 Du aber, wenn du vor mir wandeln wirst, wie dein Vater David gewandelt ist, und du alles tust, was ich dich heiße, und meine Satzungen und Rechte bewahrst,

And if you will walk before me as David your father [did], and will do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my ordinances and my judgments;

18 so will ich den Thron deines Königreichs befestigen, gemäß dem Bund, den ich mit deinem Vater David gemacht habe, indem ich sagte: Es soll dir nicht mangeln an einem Mann, der über Israel herrsche.

then will I establish the throne of your kingdom, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man ruling in Israel.

19 Werdet ihr euch aber abwenden und meine Satzungen und Gebote, die ich euch vorgelegt habe, verlassen und hingehen und anderen Göttern dienen und sie anbeten,

But if you should turn away, and forsake my ordinances and my commandments, which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, and worship them;

20 so werde ich sie aus meinem Lande ausrotten, das ich ihnen gegeben habe; und dieses Haus, welches ich meinem Namen geheiligt habe, werde ich von meinem Angesicht verwerfen und es zum Sprichwort setzen und zum Spott unter allen Völkern,

then will I remove you from the land which I gave them; and this house which I have consecrated to my name I will remove out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all nations.

21 daß jedermann, der an diesem Hause, welches das höchste gewesen ist, vorübergeht, sich entsetzen und sagen wird: Warum ist der HERR mit diesem Lande und diesem Hause also verfahren?

And [as for] this lofty house, every one that passes by it shall be amazed, and shall say, Therefore has the Lord done [thus] to this land, and to this house?

22 So wird man sagen: Weil sie den HERRN, den Gott ihrer Väter, der sie aus Ägyptenland geführt hat, verlassen und sich an andere Götter gehängt und sie angebetet und ihnen gedient haben, darum hat er all dieses Unglück über sie gebracht!

And [men] shall say, Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and they attached themselves to other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: and therefore he has brought upon them all this evil.
