2 Chronik 35

1 Und Josia hielt dem HERRN ein Passah zu Jerusalem, und sie schlachteten das Passah am vierzehnten Tage des ersten Monats.

Moreouer Iosiah kept a Passeouer vnto the Lord in Ierusalem, and they slewe the Passeouer in the fourtenth day of the first moneth.

2 Und er stellte die Priester auf ihre Posten und stärkte sie zu ihrem Dienst im Hause des HERRN.

And he appointed the Priestes to their charges, and incouraged them to the seruice of the house of the Lord,

3 Er sprach auch zu den Leviten, welche ganz Israel lehrten und die dem HERRN geheiligt waren: Tut die heilige Lade in das Haus, das Salomo, der Sohn Davids, der König Israels, gebaut hat! Ihr habt sie nicht mehr auf den Schultern zu tragen; so dienet nun dem HERRN, eurem Gott, und seinem Volk Israel!

And he sayd vnto the Leuites that taught all Israel and were sanctified vnto the Lord, Put the holy Arke in the house which Salomon the sonne of Dauid King of Israel did build: it shalbe no more a burden vpon your shoulders: serue now the Lord your God and his people Israel,

4 Und seid bereit nach euren Vaterhäusern, in euren Abteilungen, wie sie David, der König von Israel, und sein Sohn Salomo vorgeschrieben haben,

And prepare your selues by the houses of your fathers according to your courses, as Dauid the King of Israel hath written, and according to the writing of Salomon his sonne,

5 und stellet euch im Heiligtum auf, entsprechend den Abteilungen der Stammhäuser eurer Brüder, der Volksgenossen, auch nach der Einteilung der Stammhäuser der Leviten,

And stande in the Sanctuarie according to the deuision of the families of your brethren the children of the people, and after the deuision of the familie of the Leuites:

6 und schlachtet das Passah! Heiliget euch und bereitet zu für eure Brüder, daß sie tun nach dem Wort des HERRN durch Mose!

So kill the Passeouer and sanctifie your selues, and prepare your brethren that they may doe according to the worde of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

7 Und Josia stiftete für die Volksgenossen Schafe, Lämmer und Ziegen, alles zu Passahopfern, für alle, die anwesend waren, 30000 an der Zahl; dazu 3000 Rinder, und solches von der Habe des Königs.

Iosiah also gaue to the people sheepe, lambs and kiddes, all for the Passeouer, euen to all that were present, to the nomber of thirtie thousand, and three thousande bullocks: these were of the Kings substance.

8 Auch seine Fürsten stifteten freiwillige Gaben für das Volk, für die Priester und für die Leviten; Hilkia, Sacharja und Jechiel, die Vorsteher des Hauses Gottes, gaben den Priestern 2600 Passahlämmer, dazu 300 Rinder.

And his princes offred willingly vnto the people, to the Priests and to the Leuites: Hilkiah, and Zechariah, and Iehiel, rulers of the house of God, gaue vnto the Priests for the Passeouer, euen two thousand and sixe hundreth sheepe, and three hundreth bullockes.

9 Und Kananja, Semaja und Nataneel, seine Brüder, und Chaschabja, Jechiel und Josabad, die Obersten der Leviten, stifteten für die Leviten 5000 Lämmer und 500 Rinder.

Conaniah also and Shemaiah and Nethaneel his brethren, and Hashabiah and Ieiel, and Iozabad, chiefe of the Leuites gaue vnto the Leuites for the Passeouer, fiue thousand sheepe, and fiue hundreth bullockes.

10 Nach diesen Vorbereitungen zum Gottesdienst traten die Priester an ihren Platz und die Leviten in ihre Abteilungen nach dem Gebot des Königs.

Thus the seruice was prepared, and the Priests stoode in their places, also the Leuites in their orders, according to the Kings commandement:

11 Und sie schächteten das Passah; die Priester nahmen das Blut von ihren Händen und sprengten es, und die Leviten zogen [den Lämmern] die Haut ab.

And they slewe the Passeouer, and the Priests sprinkled the blood with their handes, and the Leuites flayed them.

12 Und sie taten das Brandopfer beiseite, um es den Abteilungen der Stammhäuser der Volksgenossen zu geben, damit sie es dem HERRN darbrächten, wie im Buche Moses geschrieben steht. Ebenso [machten sie es] mit den Rindern.

And they tooke away from the burnt offering to giue it according to the deuisions of the families of the children of the people, to offer vnto the Lord, as it is written in the booke of Moses, and so of the bullockes.

13 Und sie brieten das Passah am Feuer, wie es sich gebührt. Was aber geheiligt war, kochten sie in Töpfen, Kesseln und Schalen; und sie teilten es eilends unter alles Volk.

And they rosted the Passeouer with fire, according to ye custome, but the sanctified things they sod in pots, pannes, and cauldrons, and distributed them quickely to all the people.

14 Darnach aber bereiteten sie auch für sich und für die Priester zu. Denn die Priester, die Söhne Aarons, waren mit der Darbringung des Brandopfers und der Fettstücke bis in die Nacht beschäftigt. Darum mußten die Leviten für sich und für die Priester, die Söhne Aarons, zubereiten.

Afterwarde also they prepared for them selues and for the Priestes: for the Priestes the sonnes of Aaron were occupied in offering of burnt offrings, and the fat vntill night: therefore the Leuites prepared for them selues, and for the Priests the sonnes of Aaron.

15 Und die Sänger, die Söhne Asaphs, standen an ihrem Platz nach dem Gebot Davids und Asaphs und Hemans und Jedutuns, des Sehers des Königs; und die Torhüter waren an allen Toren. Sie brauchten ihren Dienst nicht zu verlassen; denn ihre Brüder, die Leviten, bereiteten für sie zu.

And the singers the sonnes of Asaph stoode in their standing according to the commandement of Dauid, and Asaph, and Heman, and Ieduthun the Kings Seer: and the porters at euery gate, who might not depart from their seruice: therefore their brethren the Leuites prepared for them.

16 Also vollzog sich an jenem Tag der ganze Dienst des HERRN in Ordnung, die Passahfeier und der Brandopferdienst auf dem Altar des HERRN, nach dem Gebot des Königs Josia.

So all the seruice of the Lord was prepared the same day, to keepe the Passeouer, and to offer burnt offerings vpon the altar of the Lord, according to the commandement of King Iosiah.

17 Also feierten die Kinder Israel, die anwesend waren, zu jener Zeit das Passah und das Fest der ungesäuerten Brote, sieben Tage lang.

And the children of Israel that were present, kept the Passeouer the same time, and the feast of the vnleauened bread seuen dayes.

18 Es war aber kein derartiges Passah in Israel gefeiert worden, seit der Zeit des Propheten Samuel; und keiner der Könige von Israel hatte ein solches Passah veranstaltet, wie Josia es hielt mit den Priestern und Leviten und mit ganz Juda und mit allen, die von Israel anwesend waren, auch mit den Einwohnern von Jerusalem.

And there was no Passeouer kept like that, in Israel, from the dayes of Samuel the Prophet: neyther did all the Kings of Israel keepe such a Passeouer as Iosiah kept, and the Priestes and the Leuites, and all Iudah, and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Ierusalem.

19 Im achtzehnten Jahre der Regierung Josias wurde dieses Passah gefeiert.

This Passeouer was kept in the eighteenth yeere of the reigne of Iosiah.

20 Nach alledem, als Josia das Haus [des HERRN] wieder hergestellt hatte, zog Necho, der König von Ägypten, herauf, um bei Karkemisch am Euphrat eine Schlacht zu liefern. Und Josia zog aus, ihm entgegen.

After all this, when Iosiah had prepared the Temple, Necho King of Egypt came vp to fight against Carchemish by Perath, and Iosiah went out against him.

21 Jener aber sandte Boten zu ihm und ließ ihm sagen: Was habe ich mit dir zu schaffen, König von Juda? Nicht wider dich [komme ich] heute, sondern wider ein Haus, das mit mir im Streite liegt, und Gott hat gesagt, ich solle eilen. Laß ab von [deinem Widerstand gegen] Gott, der mit mir ist, damit er dich nicht verderbe.

But he sent messengers to him, saying, What haue I to doe with thee, thou King of Iudah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house of mine enemie, and God commanded me to make haste: leaue of to come against God, which is with me, least he destroy thee.

22 Aber Josia wandte sein Angesicht nicht von ihm ab, sondern verkleidete sich, um mit ihm zu kämpfen, und gehorchte nicht den Worten Nechos, [die] aus dem Munde Gottes [kamen], sondern kam, mit ihm zu streiten auf der Ebene bei Megiddo.

But Iosiah would not turne his face from him, but changed his apparel to fight with him, and hearkened not vnto the wordes of Necho, which were of the mouth of God, but came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

23 Aber die Schützen trafen den König Josia. Und der König sprach zu seinen Knechten: Traget mich hinüber, denn ich bin schwer verwundet!

And the shooters shot at king Iosiah: then the King saide to his seruants, Cary me away, for I am very sicke.

24 Da hoben ihn seine Knechte von dem Kriegswagen auf seinen andern Wagen hinüber, den er [bei sich] hatte, und brachten ihn nach Jerusalem. Und er starb und ward begraben in den Gräbern seiner Väter. Und ganz Juda und Jerusalem trug Leid um Josia.

So his seruants tooke him out of that charet, and put him in the seconde charet which he had, and when they had brought him to Ierusalem, he dyed, and was buryed in the sepulchres of his fathers: and all Iudah and Ierusalem mourned for Iosiah.

25 Und Jeremia dichtete ein Klagelied auf Josia, und alle Sänger und Sängerinnen haben [seitdem] in ihren Klageliedern von Josia geredet, bis auf diesen Tag; und man machte sie zum Brauch in Israel. Und siehe, sie sind aufgezeichnet in den Klageliedern.

And Ieremiah lamented Iosiah, and al singing men and singing women mourned for Iosiah in their lamentations to this day, and made the same for an ordinance vnto Israel: and beholde, they be written in the lamentations.

26 Was aber mehr von Josia zu sagen ist und seine Frömmigkeit nach der Vorschrift des Gesetzes des HERRN

Concerning the rest of the actes of Iosiah and his goodnesse, doing as it was written in the Lawe of the Lord,

27 (035-26b) und seine Geschichten, die früheren und die späteren, siehe, die sind aufgezeichnet im Buche der Könige von Israel und Juda.

And his deedes, first and last, behold, they are written in the booke of the Kings of Israel and Iudah.
