2 Chronik 19
1 Aber Josaphat, der König von Juda, kehrte in Frieden heim nach Jerusalem.
And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned unto his own house in peace, to Jerusalem.
2 Und Jehu, der Sohn Hananis, der Seher, ging hinaus, ihm entgegen, und sprach zum König Josaphat: Solltest du also dem Gottlosen helfen und die lieben, welche den HERRN hassen? Deswegen ist der Zorn des HERRN wider dich entbrannt!
And there came out to meet him, Jehu son of Hanani, the seer, who said unto King Jehoshaphat, Unto the lawless, was it [right] to give help? and, on them who hate Yahweh, to bestow thy love? For this cause, therefore, is there wrath against thee, from before Yahweh;
3 Aber doch ist etwas Gutes an dir gefunden worden, weil du die Ascheren aus dem Lande ausgerottet und dein Herz darauf gerichtet hast, Gott zu suchen.
howbeit, good things, are found with thee, -for that thou hast consumed the Sacred Stems out of the land, and hast fixed thy heart to seek God.
4 Darnach verblieb Josaphat zu Jerusalem; dann ging er wieder aus unter das Volk, von Beerseba bis zum Gebirge Ephraim, und führte sie zu dem HERRN, dem Gott ihrer Väter, zurück.
So Jehoshaphat dwelt in Jerusalem, —and he again went forth among the people, from Beersheba as far as the hill country of Ephraim, and brought them back unto Yahweh, the God of their fathers.
5 Und er bestellte Richter im Lande, in allen festen Städten Judas, in einer jeden Stadt besonders.
And he stationed judges in the land, throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city;
6 Und er sprach zu den Richtern: Sehet zu, was ihr tut! Denn ihr haltet das Gericht nicht für Menschen, sondern für den HERRN, und er ist mit euch beim Urteilsspruch.
and said unto the judges, See what, ye, are doing, inasmuch as, not for man, must ye judge, but for Yahweh, —who will be with you, in the word of justice.
7 Darum sei die Furcht des HERRN über euch; nehmt euch wohl in acht, was ihr tut! Denn bei dem HERRN, unserm Gott, gibt es weder Unrecht noch Ansehen der Person noch Bestechlichkeit!
Now, therefore, let the dread of Yahweh be upon you, —observe and do, for there is, with Yahweh our God, neither perversity nor respect of persons nor the taking of bribes.
8 Auch in Jerusalem bestellte Josaphat etliche von den Leviten und Priestern und Familienhäuptern Israels für das Gericht des HERRN und für die Rechtshändel derer, die wieder nach Jerusalem gekommen waren.
And, even in Jerusalem, did Jehoshaphat station some of the Levites and the priests, and of the ancestral chiefs of Israel, to pronounce the just sentence of Yahweh, and to settle disputes, —when they returned to Jerusalem.
9 Und er gebot ihnen und sprach: Also sollt ihr handeln in der Furcht des HERRN, in Wahrheit und mit unverletztem Gewissen.
And he laid charge upon them, saying, —Thus, shall ye act, in the fear of Yahweh, faithfully and with an undivided heart.
10 In jedem Rechtsstreit, der vor euch gebracht wird von seiten eurer Brüder, die in ihren Städten wohnen, betreffe es Blutrache oder Gesetz und Gebot, Satzungen und Rechte, sollt ihr sie unterrichten, damit sie sich nicht an dem HERRN versündigen und sein Zorn nicht über euch und eure Brüder komme. Tut also und versündigt euch nicht!
Any dispute that shall come in unto you from among your brethren who are dwelling in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment and statutes and regulations, then shall ye warn them, that they may not become guilty against Yahweh, and so wrath come upon you and upon your brethren, —Thus, shall ye act, and not incur guilt.
11 Und siehe, Amarja, der oberste Priester, ist über euch gesetzt für alle göttlichen Angelegenheiten; Sebadja aber, der Sohn Ismaels, ist Fürst im Hause Juda für alle königlichen Geschäfte, und als Amtleute stehen euch die Leviten vor. Gehet mutig ans Werk! Der HERR aber sei mit dem Guten!
And lo! Amariah the chief priest, is over you as to every matter of Yahweh, and Zebadiah son of Ishmael the chief ruler for the house of Judah, as to every matter of the king, and, as officers, the Levites are before you, —Be strong and act, and Yahweh be with the good!
