2 Chronik 13

1 Im achtzehnten Jahre des Königs Jerobeam ward Abija König in Juda

In the eyghteenth yeere of King Ieroboam began Abiiah to reigne ouer Iudah.

2 und regierte drei Jahre lang zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Maacha, eine Tochter Uriels von Gibea. Und es war Krieg zwischen Abija und Jerobeam.

He reigned three yere in Ierusalem: (his mothers name also was Michaiah the daughter of Vriel of Gibea) and there was warre betweene Abiiah and Ieroboam.

3 Und Abija rüstete sich zum Krieg mit einem Heere von 400000 Kriegsleuten, auserlesener Mannschaft. Jerobeam aber rüstete sich, mit ihm zu streiten, mit 800000 Mann, auserlesenen, tapferen Leuten.

And Abiiah set the battel in aray with the armie of valiant men of warre, euen foure hundreth thousand chosen men. Ieroboam also set the battell in aray against him with eight hundreth thousande chosen men which were strong and valiant.

4 Und Abija stellte sich oben auf den Berg Zemaraim, welcher zu dem Gebirge Ephraim gehört, und rief: Höret mir zu, Jerobeam und du ganz Israel!

And Abiiah stood vp vpon mount Zemeraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and sayde, O Ieroboam, and all Israel, heare you me,

5 Wisset ihr nicht, daß der HERR, der Gott Israels, das Königtum über Israel David gegeben hat auf ewige Zeiten, ihm und seinen Söhnen, durch einen Salzbund?

Ought you not to know that the Lord God of Israel hath giuen the kingdome ouer Israel to Dauid for euer, euen to him and to his sonnes by a couenant of salt?

6 Aber Jerobeam, der Sohn Nebats, der Knecht Salomos, des Sohnes Davids, erhob sich und ward von seinem Herrn abtrünnig.

And Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat the seruant of Salomon the sonne of Dauid is risen vp, and hath rebelled against his lord:

7 Und es haben sich lose Leute, Kinder Belials, zu ihm geschlagen, die widersetzten sich Rehabeam, dem Sohne Salomos; denn Rehabeam war noch jung und zu furchtsam, um ihnen zu widerstehen.

And there are gathered to him vayne men and wicked, and made themselues strong against Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon: for Rehoboam was but a childe and tender hearted, and coulde not resist them.

8 Und nun, glaubt ihr, dem Reiche des HERRN widerstehen zu können, welches in der Hand der Söhne Davids ist, weil ihr ein großer Haufe seid und ihr bei euch die goldenen Kälber habt, welche euch Jerobeam zu Göttern gemacht hat?

Now therefore ye thinke that yee be able to resist against the kingdome of the Lord, which is in the handes of the sonnes of Dauid, and ye bee a great multitude, and the golden calues are with you which Ieroboam made you for gods.

9 Habt ihr nicht die Priester des HERRN, die Kinder Aarons, und die Leviten ausgestoßen und habt euch eigene Priester gemacht, wie die Völker der Länder? Wer irgend kommt, seine Hand zu füllen mit einem jungen Farren und sieben Widdern, der wird Priester derer, die doch nicht Götter sind!

Haue ye not driuen away the Priestes of the Lord the sonnes of Aaron and the Leuites, and haue made you Priests like the people of other countreis? whosoeuer commeth to consecrate with a yong bullocke and seuen rams, the same may be a Priest of them that are no gods.

10 Unser Gott aber ist der HERR, und wir haben ihn nicht verlassen; und die Priester, die dem HERRN dienen, sind Söhne Aarons, und die Leviten stehen in ihrem Amt

But wee belong vnto the Lord our God, and haue not forsaken him, and the Priestes the sonnes of Aaron minister vnto the Lord, and the Leuites in their office.

11 und zünden dem HERRN alle Morgen und alle Abend Brandopfer an, dazu das gute Räucherwerk, und besorgen die Zubereitung des Brotes auf dem reinen Tisch und den goldenen Leuchter mit seinen Lampen, daß sie alle Abend angezündet werden. Denn wir beobachten die Vorschriften des HERRN, unsres Gottes; ihr aber habt ihn verlassen!

And they burne vnto the Lord euery morning and euery euening burnt offerings and sweete incense, and the breade is set in order vpon the pure table, and the candlesticke of golde with the lampes thereof, to burne euery euening: for we keepe the watch of the Lord our God: but ye haue forsaken him.

12 Und siehe, mit uns an unserer Spitze ist Gott und seine Priester und die Lärmtrompeten, daß man wider euch Lärm blase. Ihr Kinder Israel, streitet nicht wider den HERRN, den Gott eurer Väter, denn es wird euch nicht gelingen!

And behold, this God is with vs, as a captaine, and his Priests with the sounding trumpets, to crie an alarme against you. O yee children of Israel, fight not against the Lord God of your fathers: for ye shall not prosper.

13 Aber Jerobeam hatte den Hinterhalt ausgesandt, sie zu umgehen, so daß er vor Juda stand, der Hinterhalt aber in ihrem Rücken.

But Ieroboam caused an ambushment to compasse, and come behind them, when they were before Iudah, and the ambushment behinde them.

14 Als sich nun Juda umwandte, siehe, da war Kampf vorne und hinten! Da schrieen sie zum HERRN, und die Priester bliesen in die Trompeten.

Then Iudah looked, and beholde, the battel was before and behinde them, and they cried vnto the Lord, and the Priests blewe with the trumpets,

15 Und die Männer Judas erhoben ein Feldgeschrei. Und als die Männer Judas ein Feldgeschrei erhoben, schlug Gott den Jerobeam und ganz Israel vor Abija und Juda.

And the men of Iudah gaue a shoute: and euen as the men of Iudah shouted, God smote Ieroboam and also Israel before Abiiah and Iudah.

16 Und die Kinder Israel flohen vor Juda; denn Gott gab sie in ihre Hand,

And the children of Israel fledde before Iudah, and God deliuered them into their hande.

17 also daß Abija mit seinem Volk ihnen eine große Niederlage zufügte, und aus Israel fielen der Erschlagenen 500000 auserlesene Mannschaft.

And Abiiah and his people slewe a great slaughter of them, so that there fel downe wounded of Israel fiue hundreth thousand chosen men.

18 Also wurden die Kinder Israel zu jener Zeit gedemütigt, aber die Kinder Juda wurden gestärkt; denn sie verließen sich auf den HERRN, den Gott ihrer Väter.

So the children of Israel were brought vnder at that time: and the children of Iudah preuailed, because they stayed vpon the Lord God of their fathers.

19 Und Abija jagte Jerobeam nach und gewann ihm Städte ab, nämlich Bethel mit seinen Dörfern und Jeschana mit seinen Dörfern und Ephron mit seinen Dörfern;

And Abiiah pursued after Ieroboam, and tooke cities from him, euen Beth-el, and the villages thereof, and Ieshanah with her villages, and Ephron with her villages.

20 so daß Jerobeam forthin nicht mehr zu Kräften kam, solange Abija lebte. Und der HERR schlug ihn, daß er starb.

And Ieroboam recouered no strength againe in the dayes of Abiiah, but the Lord plagued him, and he dyed.

21 Als nun Abija erstarkte, nahm er vierzehn Frauen und zeugte zweiundzwanzig Söhne und sechzehn Töchter.

So Abiiah waxed mightie, and marryed foureteene wiues, and begate two and twentie sonnes, and sixteene daughters.

22 Was aber mehr von Abija zu sagen ist, und seine Wege und seine Reden, das ist geschrieben in der Schrift des Propheten Iddo.
