2 Chronik 11
1 Als aber Rehabeam nach Jerusalem kam, versammelte er das Haus Juda und Benjamin, 180000 streitbare junge Männer, um wider Israel zu streiten und das Königreich wieder an Rehabeam zu bringen.
And Roboam came to Jerusalem; and he assembled Juda and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand young men fit for war, and he waged war with Israel to recover the kingdom to Roboam.
2 Aber das Wort des HERRN kam zu Semaja, dem Manne Gottes, also:
And the Word of the Lord came to Samaias the man of God, saying,
3 Sage zu Rehabeam, dem Sohne Salomos, dem König von Juda, und zu ganz Israel, das unter Juda und Benjamin ist, und sprich:
Speak to Roboam the [son] of Solomon, and to all Juda and Benjamin, saying,
4 So spricht der HERR: Ihr sollt nicht hinaufziehen, noch wider eure Brüder streiten! Jedermann kehre wieder heim! Denn solches ist von mir so gefügt worden. Sie folgten den Worten des HERRN und kehrten um und zogen nicht wider Jerobeam.
Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, and ye shall not war against your brethren: return every one to his home; for this thing is of me. And they hearkened to the word of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
5 Und Rehabeam blieb zu Jerusalem und baute Städte in Juda zu Festungen um,
And Roboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and he built walled cities in Judea.
6 und zwar baute er Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa,
And he built Bethleem, and Aetan and Thecoe,
7 Beth-Zur, Socho, Adullam,
and Baethsura, and Sochoth, and Odollam,
8 Gat, Marescha, Siph,
and Geth, and Marisa, and Ziph,
9 Adoraim, Lachis, Aseka,
and Adorai, and Lachis, and Azeca,
10 Zorea, Ajalon und Hebron, welche in Juda und Benjamin waren, zu Festungen um.
and Saraa, and Aelom, and Chebron, which belong to Juda and Benjamin, walled cities.
11 Und er verstärkte die Festungen und tat Befehlshaber hinein und Vorräte an Nahrung, Öl und Wein,
And he fortified them with walls, and placed in them captains, and stores of provisions, oil and wine,
12 und tat in alle Städte Schilde und Speere und machte sie sehr fest. So gehörten Juda und Benjamin ihm.
shields and spears in every several city, and he fortified them very strongly, and he had on his side Juda and Benjamin.
13 Auch die Priester und Leviten aus ganz Israel und aus allen ihren Gebieten stellten sich zu ihm.
And the priests and the Levites who were in all Israel were gathered to him out of all the coasts.
14 Denn die Leviten verließen ihre Bezirke und ihr Besitztum und kamen nach Juda und Jerusalem. Denn Jerobeam und seine Söhne hatten sie verstoßen, also daß sie des Priesteramts nicht pflegen konnten vor dem HERRN;
For the Levites left the tents of their possession, and went to Juda to Jerusalem, because Jeroboam and his sons had ejected them so that they should not minister to the Lord.
15 er bestellte aber für sich selbst Priester, für die Höhen und für die Böcke und Kälber, welche er machen ließ.
And he made for himself priests of the high places, and for the idols, and for the vanities, and for the calves which Jeroboam made.
16 Jenen [Leviten] aber folgten aus allen Stämmen Israels die, welche ihr Herz darauf richteten, den HERRN, den Gott Israels, zu suchen; diese kamen nach Jerusalem, dem HERRN, dem Gott ihrer Väter, zu opfern.
And he cast out from the tribes of Israel those who set their heart to seek the Lord God of Israel: and they came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice to the Lord God of their fathers.
17 Diese stärkten das Königreich Juda und ermutigten Rehabeam, den Sohn Salomos, drei Jahre lang; denn sie wandelten auf dem Wege Davids und Salomos drei Jahre lang.
And they strengthened the kingdom of Juda; and [Juda] strengthened Roboam the [son] of Solomon for three years, for he walked three years in the ways of David and Solomon.
18 Und Rehabeam nahm Machalat, die Tochter Jerimots, des Sohnes Davids, zur Frau, und Abichail, die Tochter Eliabs, des Sohnes Isais.
And Roboam took to himself for a wife, Moolath daughter of Jerimuth the son of David, and Abigaia daughter of Heliab the son of Jessae.
19 Die gebar ihm Söhne: Jeusch, Semarja und Sacham.
And she bore him sons; Jeus, and Samoria, and Zaam.
20 Nach dieser nahm er Maacha, die Tochter Absaloms, die gebar ihm Abija, Attai, Sisa und Selomit.
And afterwards he took to himself Maacha the daughter of Abessalom; and she bore him Abia, and Jetthi, and Zeza, and Salemoth.
21 Aber Rehabeam hatte Maacha, die Tochter Absaloms, lieber als alle seine andern Frauen und Nebenfrauen und zeugte achtundzwanzig Söhne und sechzig Töchter.
And Roboam loved Maacha the daughter of Abessalom more than all his wives and all his concubines: for he had eighteen wives and sixty concubines; and he begot twenty-eight sons, and sixty daughters.
22 Und Rehabeam setze Abija, den Sohn der Maacha, zum Haupt und zum Fürsten unter seinen Brüdern; denn er gedachte ihn zum König zu machen.
And he made Abia the son of Maacha chief, [even] a leader among his brethren, for he intended to make him king.
23 Und er war verständig und verteilte alle seine Söhne in alle Landschaften von Juda und Benjamin, in alle festen Städte. Und er gab ihnen reichlichen Unterhalt und verlangte viele Frauen für sie.
And he was exalted beyond all his [other] sons in all the coasts of Juda and Benjamin, and in the strong cities; and he gave them provisions in great abundance: and he desired many wives.
