1 Samuel 7

1 Also kamen die Leute von Kirjat-Jearim und holten die Lade des HERRN hinauf und brachten sie in das Haus Abinadabs auf dem Hügel, und sie weihten seinen Sohn Eleasar, die Lade des HERRN zu hüten.

Then the men of Kiriath-iearim came, and tooke vp the Arke of the Lord, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill: and they sanctified Eleazar his sonne, to keepe the Arke of the Lord.

2 Und von dem Tag an, da die Lade zu Kirjat-Jearim weilte, verging eine lange Zeit, bis zwanzig Jahre um waren; und das ganze Haus Israel jammerte dem HERRN nach.

(For while the Arke abode in Kiriath-iearim, the time was long, for it was twentie yeeres) and al the house of Israel lamented after ye Lord.

3 Samuel aber redete mit ganz Israel und sprach: Wollt ihr von ganzem Herzen zu dem HERRN zurückkehren, so tut die fremden Götter und Astarten aus eurer Mitte und richtet eure Herzen zu dem HERRN und dient ihm allein, so wird er euch aus der Hand der Philister erretten.

Then Samuel spake vnto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye be come againe vnto the Lord with all your heart, put away the strange gods from among you, and Ashtaroth, and direct your hearts vnto the Lord, and serue him only, and he shall deliuer you out of the hand of ye Philistims.

4 Da taten die Kinder Israel die Baale und die Astarten von sich und dienten dem HERRN allein.

Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and serued the Lord onely.

5 Samuel aber sprach: Versammelt ganz Israel gen Mizpa, so will ich für euch zum HERRN beten!

And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you vnto the Lord.

6 Da kamen sie zusammen gen Mizpa und schöpften Wasser und gossen es aus vor dem HERRN und fasteten am selben Tag und sprachen daselbst: Wir haben gegen den HERRN gesündigt! Also richtete Samuel die Kinder Israel zu Mizpa.

And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drewe water and powred it out before the Lord, and fasted the same day, and sayd there, We haue sinned against the Lord. And Samuel iudged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.

7 Als aber die Philister hörten, daß die Kinder Israel gen Mizpa zusammengekommen waren, zogen die Fürsten der Philister hinauf wider Israel. Als die Kinder Israel solches hörten, fürchteten sie sich vor den Philistern.

When the Philistims heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the princes of the Philistims went vp against Israel: and when the children of Israel heard that, they were afraide of the Philistims.

8 Und die Kinder Israel sprachen zu Samuel: Laß nicht ab, für uns zu dem HERRN, unserm Gott, zu schreien, daß er uns aus der Hand der Philister errette!

And the children of Israel sayd to Samuel, Cease not to crie vnto the Lord our God for vs, that hee may saue vs out of the hand of the Philistims.

9 Und Samuel nahm ein Milchlamm und opferte es dem HERRN für Israel, und der HERR erhörte ihn.

Then Samuel tooke a sucking lambe, and offered it all together for a burnt offering vnto the Lord, and Samuel cryed vnto the Lord for Israel, and the Lord heard him.

10 Und während Samuel das Brandopfer darbrachte, näherten sich die Philister zum Streit wider Israel; aber an demselben Tage donnerte der HERR mit gewaltiger Stimme wider die Philister und verwirrte sie, so daß sie vor Israel geschlagen wurden.

And as Samuel offered the burnt offering, the Philistims came to fight against Israel: but the Lord thundred with a great thunder that day vpon the Philistims, and scattered them: so they were slaine before Israel.

11 Da zogen die Männer Israels aus von Mizpa und jagten die Philister und schlugen sie bis unterhalb Beth-Kar.

And the men of Israel went from Mizpeh and pursued the Philistims, and smote them vntill they came vnder Beth-car.

12 Da nahm Samuel einen Stein und setzte ihn zwischen Mizpa und Schen und hieß ihn Eben-Eser, und sprach: Bis hierher hat der HERR uns geholfen!

Then Samuel tooke a stone and pitched it betweene Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name thereof, Eben-ezer, and he sayd, Hitherto hath the Lord holpen vs.

13 Also wurden die Philister gedemütigt und kamen hinfort nicht mehr in das Gebiet Israels. Und die Hand des HERRN war wider die Philister, solange Samuel lebte.

So the Philistims were brought vnder, and they came no more againe into the coastes of Israel: and the hand of the Lord was against the Philistims all the dayes of Samuel.

14 Also bekam Israel die Städte wieder, welche die Philister den Israeliten genommen hatten, von Ekron an bis gen Gat, samt ihrem Gebiet; die errettete Israel aus der Hand der Philister. Es war aber Friede zwischen Israel und den Amoritern.

Also the cities which the Philistims had taken from Israel, were restored to Israel, from Ekron euen to Gath: and Israel deliuered the coastes of the same out of the hands of the Philistims: and there was peace betweene Israel and the Amorites.

15 Und Samuel richtete Israel sein Leben lang;

And Samuel iudged Israel all the dayes of his life,

16 und er zog alljährlich umher und machte die Runde in Bethel, Gilgal und Mizpa und richtete Israel an allen diesen Orten.

And went about yeere by yere to Beth-el, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and iudged Israel in all those places.

17 Doch kehrte er immer wieder nach Rama zurück; denn daselbst war sein Haus; und er richtete Israel daselbst und baute daselbst dem HERRN einen Altar.

Afterward hee returned to Ramah: for there was his house, and there he iudged Israel: also he built an altar there vnto the Lord.
