1 Samuel 17
1 Die Philister aber versammelten ihre Heere zum Streit und zogen zusammen bei Socho in Juda und lagerten sich zwischen Socho und Aseka, bei Ephes-Dammin.
And they gathered [the] Philistines armies their for battle and they were gathered Socoh which [belongs] to Judah and they encamped between Socoh and between Azekah in Ephes Dammim.
2 Auch Saul und die Männer von Israel sammelten sich und schlugen ihr Lager im Terebinthentale auf und rüsteten sich zum Streit gegen die Philister.
And Saul and [the] man of Israel they were gathered and they encamped in [the] valley of Elah and they deployed battle to meet [the] Philistines.
3 Und die Philister standen am jenseitigen Berge, die Israeliten aber am diesseitigen Berge, so daß das Tal zwischen ihnen lag.
And [the] Philistines [were] standing to the mountain from this and Israel [were] standing to the mountain from this and the valley [was] between them.
4 Da trat aus dem Lager der Philister ein Zweikämpfer hervor, namens Goliath von Gat, sechs Ellen und eine Spanne hoch.
And he came out [the] man of the champions from [the] camps of [the] Philistines [was] Goliath name his from Gath height his [was] six cubits and a span.
5 Der hatte einen ehernen Helm auf seinem Haupt und trug einen Schuppenpanzer, und das Gewicht seines Panzers betrug fünftausend Schekel Erz.
And a helmet of bronze [was] on head his and body armor of scales he [was] clothed and [the] weight of the body armor [was] five thousand shekels bronze.
6 Und er hatte eherne Schienen an seinen Beinen und einen ehernen Wurfspieß zwischen seinen Schultern,
And leg armor of bronze [was] on feet his and a javelin of bronze [was] between shoulders his.
7 und der Schaft seines Speeres war wie ein Weberbaum, und die Spitze seines Speers wog sechshundert Schekel Eisen; und sein Schildträger ging vor ihm her.
(And [the] wood of *Q(K)*) spear his [was] like a beam of weavers and [the] blade of spear his [was] six hundred shekels iron and [the] bearer of the body shield [was] walking before him.
8 Und er stellte sich hin und rief den Schlachtreihen Israels zu und sprach zu ihnen: Was seid ihr ausgezogen, euch für den Streit zu rüsten? Bin ich nicht ein Philister, und ihr seid Sauls Knechte? Erwählt euch einen Mann, der zu mir herabkomme!
And he stood and he called out to [the] battle lines of Israel and he said to them why? do you come out to deploy battle ¿ not [am] I the Philistine and [are] you? servants of Saul commission for yourselves a man so he may come down to me.
9 Siegt er im Kampf mit mir und erschlägt er mich, so wollen wir eure Knechte sein; siege ich aber im Kampf mit ihm und erschlage ihn, so sollt ihr unsre Knechte sein und uns dienen.
If he will be able to fight with me and he will strike down me and we will become of you slaves and if I I will prevail to him and I will strike down him and you will become of us slaves and you will serve us.
10 Und weiter sprach der Philister: Ich habe am heutigen Tag den Schlachtreihen Israels Hohn gesprochen; gebt mir einen Mann, und laßt uns miteinander kämpfen!
And he said the Philistine I I defy [the] battle lines of Israel the day this give to me a man so let us fight together.
11 Als Saul und ganz Israel diese Rede des Philisters hörten, entsetzten sie sich und fürchteten sich sehr.
And he heard Saul and all Israel [the] words of the Philistine these and they were dismayed and they were afraid exceedingly.
12 David aber war der Sohn jenes Ephratiters von Bethlehem-Juda, der Isai hieß und acht Söhne hatte und hohen Alters war unter den Männern zu Sauls Zeiten.
And David [was] a son of a man an Ephrathite this from Beth-lehem Judah and name his [was] Jesse and [belonged] to him eight sons and the man in [the] days of Saul he was old he had gone among men.
13 Und die drei ältesten Söhne Isais waren mit Saul in den Krieg gezogen; und die drei Söhne, die in den Krieg gezogen waren, hießen: Eliab, der erstgeborene, Abinadab, der zweite, und Samma, der dritte;
And they had gone [the] three [the] sons of Jesse old they had gone after Saul to battle and [the] name of - [the] three of sons his who they had gone in the battle [was] Eliab the firstborn and second his [was] Abinadab and the third [was] Shammah.
14 David aber war der jüngste. Als aber die drei ältesten mit Saul [in den Krieg] gezogen waren,
And David he [was] the young and three old they had gone after Saul.
15 ging David wieder von Saul weg, um in Bethlehem seines Vaters Schafe zu hüten.
And David [was] going and [was] returning from with Saul to shepherd [the] flock of father his Beth-lehem.
16 Der Philister aber machte sich morgens und abends herzu und stellte sich hin vierzig Tage lang.
And he drew near the Philistine rising early and [the] evening darkened and he took his stand forty day[s].
17 Isai aber sprach zu seinem Sohne David: Nimm für deine Brüder dieses Epha geröstetes Korn und diese zehn Brote und laufe zu deinen Brüdern ins Lager.
And he said Jesse to David son his take please to brothers your [the] ephah of roasted grain this and ten bread[s] this and bring [them] quickly the camp to brothers your.
18 Und diese zehn Käse bringe dem Hauptmann über ihre Tausendschaft und sieh nach deinen Brüdern, ob es ihnen wohlgehe, und bring ein Zeichen von ihnen!
And [the] ten [the] portions of milk these you will bring to [the] commander of the thousand and brothers your you will pay attention to welfare and pledge their you will take.
19 Saul aber und sie und alle Männer von Israel waren im Terebinthental und stritten wider die Philister.
And Saul and they and every man of Israel [are] in [the] valley of Elah fighting with [the] Philistines.
20 Da machte sich David am Morgen früh auf und überließ die Schafe dem Hüter; und nachdem er die Geschenke zu sich genommen, ging er hin, wie Isai ihm geboten hatte, und kam zur Wagenburg. Und das Heer war ausgezogen und hatte sich in Schlachtordnung aufgestellt und ein großes Kriegsgeschrei erhoben.
And he rose early David in the morning and he left the flock with a watchman and he lifted up and he went just as he had commanded him Jesse and he came the camp towards and the army which was going out to the battle line and they shouted a war cry in the battle.
21 So hatte Israel sich gerüstet, und die Philister waren auch gerüstet: eine Schlachtreihe gegen die andere.
And it deployed Israel and [the] Philistines battle line to meet battle line.
22 Da ließ David die Sachen, die er trug, unter der Hand des Gepäckhüters und lief zur Schlachtreihe und ging hinein und grüßte seine Brüder.
And he left David the baggage from with him on [the] hand of [the] keeper of the baggage and he ran the battle line and he came and he asked of brothers his to welfare.
23 Und während er noch mit ihnen redete, siehe, da trat der Zweikämpfer namens Goliath, der Philister von Gat, aus der Philister Heer hervor und redete wie zuvor; und David hörte es.
And he - [was] speaking with them and there! [the] man of the champions [was] coming up [was] Goliath the Philistine name his from Gath (from [the] battle lines of *Q(K)*) [the] Philistines and he spoke according to the words these and he heard David.
24 Aber alle Männer von Israel flohen vor dem Mann, wenn sie ihn sahen, und fürchteten sich sehr.
And every man of Israel when saw they the man and they fled from before him and they were afraid exceedingly.
25 Und es sprach ein israelitischer Mann: Habt ihr diesen Mann gesehen, der da heraufkommt? Denn er ist aufgetreten, um Israel Hohn zu sprechen! Darum, wer ihn schlägt, den will der König reich machen und ihm seine Tochter geben und will seines Vaters Haus in Israel frei machen.
And he said - [the] man of Israel ¿ have you seen the man who comes up this for to defy Israel [he is] coming up and it will be the man who he will strike down him he will make rich him the king - rich[es] great and daughter his he will give to him and [the] house of father his he will make free in Israel.
26 Da fragte David die Männer, die bei ihm standen: Was wird man dem tun, der diesen Philister schlägt und die Schande von Israel abwendet? Denn wer ist der Philister, dieser Unbeschnittene, daß er die Schlachtreihen des lebendigen Gottes höhnt?
And he said David to the men who were standing with him saying what? will it be done for the man who he will strike down the Philistine this and he will remove reproach from on Israel that who? [is] the Philistine uncircumcised this that he has defied [the] battle lines of God living.
27 Da sagte ihm das Volk wie zuvor und sprach: Also wird man dem tun, der ihn schlägt!
And it said to him the people according to the manner this saying thus it will be done for the man who he will strike down him.
28 Aber Eliab, sein ältester Bruder, hörte ihn mit den Männern reden. Da entbrannte Eliabs Zorn wider David, und er sprach: Warum bist du herabgekommen? Und bei wem hast du dort in der Wüste die wenigen Schafe gelassen? Ich kenne deine Vermessenheit und deines Herzens Bosheit wohl; denn du bist herabgekommen, um den Kampf zu sehen!
And he heard Eliab brother his old when spoke he to the men and it burned [the] anger of Eliab on David and he said - why? this have you come down and with whom? have you left [the] fewness of the sheep those in the wilderness I I know arrogance your and [the] wickedness of heart your that so as to see the battle you have come down.
29 David antwortete: Was habe ich denn getan? Es war ja nur ein Wort!
And he said David what? have I done now ¿ not a word [was] it.
30 Und er wandte sich von ihm zu einem andern und redete, wie er zuvor gesagt hatte. Da antwortete ihm das Volk wie zuvor.
And he turned away from beside him to [the] front of another [person] and he said according to the manner this and they brought back him the people word according to the word the former.
31 Und als man die Worte hörte, die David sagte, verkündigte man sie vor Saul; und er ließ ihn holen.
And they were heard the words which he spoke David and people told before Saul and he sent for him.
32 Und David sprach zu Saul: Es entfalle keinem Menschen das Herz um seinetwillen; dein Knecht wird hingehen und mit diesem Philister kämpfen!
And he said David to Saul may not it fall [the] heart of anyone on him servant your he will go and he will fight with the Philistine this.
33 Saul aber sprach zu David: Du kannst nicht hingehen wider diesen Philister, mit ihm zu kämpfen, denn du bist noch ein Knabe; dieser aber ist ein Kriegsmann von Jugend auf.
And he said Saul to David not you will be able to go against the Philistine this to fight with him for [are] a youth you and he [is] a man of war since youth his.
34 David aber sprach zu Saul: Dein Knecht hütete die Schafe seines Vaters; da kam ein Löwe und [einmal] ein Bär und trug ein Schaf hinweg von der Herde.
And he said David to Saul shepherding he was servant your for father his the flock and it came the lion and with the bear and it carried off a sheep from the flock.
35 Da ging ich aus, ihm nach, und schlug ihn und rettete es aus seinem Rachen. Und als er sich wider mich erhob, ergriff ich ihn bei seinem Bart und schlug ihn und tötete ihn.
And I went out after it and I struck it and I rescued [it] from mouth its and it rose up on me and I took hold on beard its and I struck it and I killed it.
36 Also hat dein Knecht den Löwen und den Bären geschlagen. So soll nun dieser Philister, der Unbeschnittene, sein wie derselben einer; denn er hat die Schlachtreihen des lebendigen Gottes verhöhnt!
Both the lion as well as the bear he has struck down servant your and he will be the Philistine uncircumcised this like one from them for he has defied [the] battle lines of God living.
37 Weiter sprach David: Der HERR, der mich von dem Löwen und Bären errettet hat, wird mich auch von diesem Philister erretten! Und Saul sprach zu David: Geh hin, der HERR sei mit dir!
And he said David Yahweh who he delivered me from [the] hand of the lion and from [the] hand of the bear he he will deliver me from [the] hand of the Philistine this. And he said Saul to David go and Yahweh he will be with you.
38 Und Saul zog dem David seine Rüstung an und setzte einen ehernen Helm auf sein Haupt und legte ihm einen Panzer um.
And he clothed Saul David garments his and he put a helmet of bronze on head his and he clothed him body armor.
39 Darnach gürtete David sein Schwert über seine Kleider und bemühte sich zu gehen; denn er hatte es noch nicht versucht. Da sprach David zu Saul: Ich kann nicht darin gehen; denn ich bin es nicht gewohnt! Und David legte es von sich.
And he girded David sword his over garments his and he fell short to walk for not he had put to [the] test and he said David to Saul not I will be able to walk in these [things] for not I have put to [the] test and he removed them David from on himself.
40 Und er nahm seinen Stab in die Hand und erwählte sich fünf glatte Steine aus dem Bach und legte sie in die Hirtentasche, die er hatte, in den Beutel, und nahm seine Schleuder zur Hand und näherte sich dem Philister.
And he took stick his in hand his and he chose for himself five smooth [ones] of stones - from the wadi and he put them in [the] bag of shepherds which [belonged] to him and in the pouch and sling his [was] in hand his and he drew near to the Philistine.
41 Und der Philister kam auch einher und näherte sich David, und sein Schildträger ging vor ihm her.
And he came the Philistine coming and approaching to David and the man [the] bearer of the body shield [was] before him.
42 Als nun der Philister den David sah und beschaute, verachtete er ihn; denn er war ein Knabe, bräunlich und von schöner Gestalt.
And he looked the Philistine and he saw David and he despised him for he was a youth and red with handsome of appearance.
43 Und der Philister sprach zu David: Bin ich denn ein Hund, daß du mit einem Stecken zu mir kommst?
And he said the Philistine to David ¿ a dog [am] I that you [are] coming against me with sticks and he cursed the Philistine David by gods his.
44 Und der Philister fluchte David bei seinem Gott und sprach zu David: Komm her zu mir, ich will dein Fleisch den Vögeln des Himmels und den Tieren des Feldes geben!
And he said the Philistine to David come! to me so let me give flesh your to [the] bird[s] of the heavens and to [the] animal[s] of the field.
45 David aber sprach zu dem Philister: Du kommst zu mir mit Schwert, Speer und Wurfspieß; ich aber komme zu dir im Namen des HERRN der Heerscharen, des Gottes der Schlachtreihen Israels, die du verhöhnt hast!
And he said David to the Philistine you [are] coming against me with sword and with spear and with javelin and I [am] coming against you in [the] name of Yahweh of hosts [the] God of [the] battle lines of Israel whom you have defied.
46 An diesem heutigen Tag wird dich der HERR in meine Hand liefern, daß ich dich schlage und deinen Kopf von dir nehme und deinen Leichnam und die Leichname des Heeres der Philister den Vögeln unter dem Himmel und den wilden Tieren der Erde gebe, damit das ganze Land erfahre, daß Israel einen Gott hat.
The day this he will deliver up you Yahweh in hand my and I will strike down you and I will remove head your from on you and I will give [the] corpse[s] of [the] army of [the] Philistines the day this to [the] bird[s] of the heavens and to [the] animal[s] of the earth so they may know all the earth that there a God [belongs] to Israel.
47 Und diese ganze Gemeinde soll erfahren, daß der HERR nicht durch Schwert noch Spieß hilft; denn der Kampf ist des HERRN Sache, und Er wird euch in unsre Hand geben!
So they may know all the assembly this that not by sword and by spear he saves Yahweh for [belongs] to Yahweh the battle and he will give you in hand our.
48 Als sich nun der Philister aufmachte und daher kam und sich David näherte, eilte David und lief gegen die Schlachtreihe, auf den Philister zu.
And it was that he arose the Philistine and he came and he drew near to meet David and he hurried David and he ran the battle line to meet the Philistine.
49 Und David streckte seine Hand in die Tasche und nahm einen Stein daraus und schleuderte und traf den Philister an die Stirn, so daß der Stein in seine Stirne fuhr und er auf sein Angesicht zur Erde fiel.
And he sent David hand his into the bag and he took from there a stone and he slung [it] and he struck the Philistine to forehead his and it sank the stone in forehead his and he fell on face his [the] ground towards.
50 So überwand David den Philister mit der Schleuder und mit dem Stein und schlug ihn und tötete ihn.
And he was strong David more than the Philistine with the sling and with the stone and he struck down the Philistine and he killed him and [was] a sword there not in [the] hand of David.
51 Und weil David kein Schwert in der Hand hatte, lief er und trat auf den Philister und nahm dessen Schwert und zog es aus der Scheide und tötete ihn und hieb ihm den Kopf ab.
And he ran David and he stood to the Philistine and he took sword his and he drew out it from sheath its and he killed him and he cut off with it head his and they saw the Philistines that he had died mighty [man] their and they fled.
52 Als aber die Philister sahen, daß ihr Stärkster tot war, flohen sie. Und die Männer von Israel und Juda machten sich auf und erhoben ein Kriegsgeschrei und jagten den Philistern nach, bis man in die Ebene kommt und bis zu den Toren Ekrons. Und die erschlagenen Philister lagen auf dem Wege von Saaraim bis gen Gat und bis gen Ekron.
And they arose [the] men of Israel and Judah and they shouted a war cry and they pursued the Philistines until coming you [to] Gath and to [the] gates of Ekron and they fell [those] slain of [the] Philistines on [the] way of Shaaraim and to Gath and to Ekron.
53 Und die Kinder Israel kehrten von der Verfolgung der Philister zurück und plünderten ihr Lager.
And they returned [the] people of Israel from hotly pursuing after [the] Philistines and they plundered camps their.
54 David aber nahm des Philisters Kopf und brachte ihn nach Jerusalem; seine Waffen aber legte er in sein Zelt.
And he took David [the] head of the Philistine and he brought it Jerusalem and weapons his he put in own tent his.
55 Als aber Saul sah, wie David wider den Philister auszog, sprach er zu Abner, seinem Feldhauptmann: Abner, wessen Sohn ist der Jüngling? Abner aber sprach: So wahr deine Seele lebt, o König, ich weiß es nicht!
And just as saw Saul David going out to meet the Philistine he said to Abner [the] commander of the army son of whom? this [is] the youth O Abner and he said Abner [by] [the] life of self your O king if I knew.
56 Der König sprach: So erfrage doch, wessen Sohn dieser Jüngling sei!
And he said the king ask you son of whom? this [is] the youth.
57 Als nun David nach der Erlegung des Philisters zurückkehrte, nahm ihn Abner und brachte ihn vor Saul, und er hatte des Philisters Haupt in seiner Hand.
And just as returned David from striking down the Philistine and he took him Abner and he brought him before Saul and [the] head of the Philistine [was] in hand his.
58 Und Saul sprach zu ihm: Knabe, wessen Sohn bist du? David sprach: Ich bin ein Sohn deines Knechtes Isai, des Bethlehemiten.
And he said to him Saul son of whom? [are] you O youth and he said David [the] son of servant your Jesse [the] Beth-lehemite.
