1 Als aber die Königin von Saba den Ruhm Salomos wegen des Namens des HERRN vernahm, kam sie, ihn mit Rätseln zu erproben.
And the queen of Sheba is hearing of the fame of Solomon concerning the Name of YHWH, and comes to try him with enigmas,
2 Sie kam aber nach Jerusalem mit sehr großem Reichtum, mit Kamelen, die Spezereien und sehr viel Gold und Edelsteine trugen. Und als sie zu Salomo kam, sagte sie ihm alles, was sie auf dem Herzen hatte.
and she comes to Jerusalem, with a very great company, camels carrying spices, and very much gold, and precious stone, and she comes to Solomon, and speaks to him all that has been with her heart.
3 Und Salomo erklärte ihr alles; es war dem König nichts verborgen, daß er es ihr nicht erklärt hätte.
And Solomon declares to her all her matters—there has not been a thing hid from the king that he has not declared to her.
4 Als aber die Königin von Saba alle Weisheit Salomos sah und das Haus, das er gebaut hatte,
And the queen of Sheba sees all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he built,
5 und die Speise für seinen Tisch und die Wohnung seiner Knechte und das Auftreten seiner Dienerschaft und ihre Kleidung, auch sein Geschirr und die Brandopfer, die er im Hause des HERRN darbrachte, da geriet sie außer sich [vor Erstaunen] und sprach zum König:
and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the standing of his ministers, and their clothing, and his butlers, and his burnt-offering that he causes to ascend in the house of YHWH, and there has not been anymore spirit in her.
6 Das Wort ist wahr, welches ich in meinem Lande über deine Sachen und über deine Weisheit gehört habe!
And she says to the king, “The word that I heard in my land has been true concerning your matters and your wisdom;
7 Und ich habe den Worten nicht geglaubt, bis ich gekommen bin und es mit eigenen Augen gesehen habe. Und siehe, es ist mir nicht die Hälfte gesagt worden; du hast mehr Weisheit und Gut, als das Gerücht sagt, das ich vernommen habe.
and I gave no credence to the words until I have come, and my eyes see, and behold, not [even] half was declared to me; you have added wisdom and goodness to the report that I heard.
8 Selig sind deine Leute, selig diese deine Knechte, die allezeit vor dir stehen und deine Weisheit hören!
O the blessedness of your men, O the blessedness of your servants—these—who are standing before you continually, who are hearing your wisdom!
9 Gepriesen sei der HERR, dein Gott, der Gefallen an dir gehabt hat, so daß er dich auf den Thron Israels setzte! Weil der HERR Israel lieb hat ewiglich, darum hat er dich zum König eingesetzt, daß du Recht und Gerechtigkeit übest!
Your God YHWH is blessed, who delighted in you, to put you on the throne of Israel; in YHWH’s loving Israel for all time He sets you for king, to do judgment and righteousness.”
10 Und sie gab dem König hundertundzwanzig Talente Gold und sehr viel Gewürz und Edelsteine; nie wieder kam so viel Gewürz, wie die Königin von Saba dem König Salomo gab.
And she gives to the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, and very many spices, and precious stone; there never again came in abundance like that spice that the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
11 Dazu brachten die Schiffe Hirams, welche Gold aus Ophir führten, sehr viel Sandelholz und Edelsteine von Ophir.
And also, the navy of Hiram that bore gold from Ophir, brought in very much almug-trees and precious stone from Ophir;
12 Und der König ließ aus Sandelholz Treppen machen für das Haus des HERRN und für das Haus des Königs und Harfen und Psalter für die Sänger; soviel Sandelholz ist nie mehr [ins Land] gekommen noch gesehen worden bis auf diesen Tag.
and the king makes the almug-trees a support for the house of YHWH, and for the house of the king, and harps and psalteries for singers; there have not come such almug-trees, nor have there been seen [such] to this day.
13 Und der König Salomo gab der Königin von Saba alles, was sie wünschte und erbat, außer dem, womit Salomo sie königlich beschenkte. Da kehrte sie um und zog in ihr Land samt ihren Knechten.
And King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire that she asked, apart from that which he gave to her as a memorial of King Solomon, and she turns and goes to her land, she and her servants.
14 Das Gewicht des Goldes aber, das bei Salomo in einem Jahr einging, betrug 666 Talente,
And the weight of the gold that has come to Solomon in one year is six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,
15 außer dem, was die Karawanen und der Handel der Kaufleute und alle Könige Arabiens und die Statthalter des Landes brachten.
apart from [that of] the tourists, and of the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the land.
16 Und der König Salomo ließ zweihundert Schilde von gehämmertem Golde machen; sechshundert Schekel Gold verwendete er für jeden Schild;
And King Solomon makes two hundred bucklers of alloyed gold—six hundred [shekels] of gold go up on the one buckler;
17 und dreihundert Tartschen von gehämmertem Gold; je drei Minen Gold verwendete er für eine Tartsche. Und der König tat sie in das Haus des Libanonwaldes.
and three hundred shields of alloyed gold—three pounds of gold go up on the one shield; and the king puts them [in] the House of the Forest of Lebanon.
18 Ferner machte der König einen großen Thron von Elfenbein und überzog ihn mit dem edelsten Golde.
And the king makes a great throne of ivory, and overlays it with refined gold;
19 Dieser Thron hatte sechs Stufen, und das Kopfstück des Thrones war hinten rund, und auf beiden Seiten um den Sitz waren Lehnen, und zwei Löwen standen an den Lehnen.
the throne has six steps, and a round top [is] to the throne behind it, and hands [are] on this [side] and on that, to the place of the sitting, and two lions are standing near the hands,
20 Und zwölf Löwen standen auf den sechs Stufen zu beiden Seiten. Dergleichen ist niemals in irgend einem Königreiche gemacht worden.
and twelve lions are standing there on the six steps, on this [side] and on that; it has not been made so for any kingdom.
21 Auch alle Trinkgeschirre des Königs Salomo waren golden, und alles Geschirr im Hause des Libanonwaldes war von feinem Gold; denn zu den Zeiten Salomos achtete man das Silber gar nicht.
And all the drinking vessels of King Solomon [are] of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon [are] of refined gold—there are none of silver; it was not reckoned in the days of Solomon for anything,
22 Denn des Königs Tarsisschiffe fuhren auf dem Meer mit den Schiffen Hirams. Diese Tarsisschiffe kamen in drei Jahren einmal und brachten Gold, Silber, Elfenbein, Affen und Pfauen.
for the king has a navy of Tarshish at sea with a navy of Hiram; once in three years the navy of Tarshish comes, carrying gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks [[or monkeys]].
23 Also ward der König Salomo größer an Reichtum und Weisheit als alle Könige auf Erden.
And King Solomon is greater than any of the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom,
24 Und alle Welt begehrte Salomo zu sehen, um seine Weisheit zu hören, die ihm Gott ins Herz gegeben hatte.
and all the earth is seeking the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom that God has put into his heart,
25 Und sie brachten ihm ein jeder sein Geschenk: silberne und goldene Geschirre, Kleider, Rüstungen, Gewürz, Pferde und Maultiere, Jahr für Jahr.
and they are each bringing his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, the matter of a year in a year.
26 Salomo brachte auch Wagen und Reiter zusammen, so daß er tausendvierhundert Wagen und zwölftausend Reiter hatte, die er in den Wagenstädten und bei dem König zu Jerusalem unterbrachte.
And Solomon gathers chariots, and horsemen, and he has one thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he places them in the cities of the chariot, and with the king in Jerusalem.
27 Und der König machte, daß zu Jerusalem so viel Silber war wie Steine und so viel Zedernholz wie wilde Feigenbäume in den Gründen.
And the king makes the silver in Jerusalem as stones, and he has made the cedars as the sycamores that [are] in the low country, for abundance.
28 Und man brachte dem Salomo Pferde aus Ägypten und ein Zug von Kaufleuten des Königs holte sie scharenweise um den Kaufpreis.
And the outgoing of the horses that King Solomon has [is] from Egypt, and from Keveh; merchants of the king take from Keveh at a price;
29 Und ein Wagen aus Ägypten kam auf sechshundert Silberlinge zu stehen, und ein Pferd auf hundertundfünfzig; ebenso brachte man sie durch ihre Vermittlung auch allen Königen der Hetiter und den Königen von Syrien.
and a chariot comes up and comes out of Egypt for six hundred pieces of silver, and a horse for one hundred and fifty, and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Aram; they bring out by their hand.
