1 Korinther 10
1 Ich will aber nicht, meine Brüder, daß ihr außer acht lasset, daß unsre Väter alle unter der Wolke gewesen und alle durchs Meer hindurch gegangen sind.
Now, brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and that all passed through the sea,
2 Sie wurden auch alle auf Mose getauft in der Wolke und im Meer,
and were all immersed into Moses, in the cloud and in the sea;
3 und sie haben alle dieselbe geistliche Speise gegessen und alle denselben geistlichen Trank getrunken;
and did all eat the same spiritual food,
4 denn sie tranken aus einem geistlichen Felsen, der ihnen folgte. Der Fels aber war Christus.
and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was the Christ.
5 Aber an der Mehrzahl von ihnen hatte Gott kein Wohlgefallen; denn sie wurden in der Wüste niedergestreckt.
But with the most of them God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6 Diese Dinge aber sind zum Vorbild für uns geschehen, damit wir uns nicht des Bösen gelüsten lassen, gleichwie jene gelüstet hat.
Now these things took place as examples for us, that we should not desire evil things, as they, also, desired.
7 Werdet auch nicht Götzendiener, gleichwie etliche von ihnen, wie geschrieben steht: «Das Volk setzte sich nieder, um zu essen und zu trinken, und stand auf, um zu spielen.»
Neither be you idolaters, as some of them were, as it is written: Tho people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to engage in idolatrous sport.
8 Lasset uns auch nicht Unzucht treiben, gleichwie etliche von ihnen Unzucht trieben, und es fielen an einem Tage ihrer dreiundzwanzigtausend.
Nor let us be guilty of lewdness, as some of them were guilty, and fell, in one day, twenty-three thousand.
9 Lasset uns auch nicht Christus versuchen, gleichwie etliche von ihnen ihn versuchten und von den Schlangen umgebracht wurden.
Nor let us tempt the Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents.
10 Murret auch nicht, gleichwie etliche von ihnen murrten und durch den Verderber umgebracht wurden.
Nor do you murmur, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
11 Das alles, was jenen widerfuhr, ist ein Vorbild und wurde zur Warnung geschrieben für uns, auf welche das Ende der Zeitalter gekommen ist. (aiōn g165)
Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they are written for the instruction of us, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. (aiōn g165)
12 Darum, wer sich dünkt, er stehe, der sehe wohl zu, daß er nicht falle!
Wherefore, let him that thinks he stands, take heed lest he foil.
13 Es hat euch bisher nur menschliche Versuchung betroffen. Gott aber ist treu; der wird euch nicht über euer Vermögen versucht werden lassen, sondern wird zugleich mit der Versuchung auch den Ausgang schaffen, daß ihr sie ertragen könnt.
No trial has come upon you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tried more than you are able to bear; but he will, with the trial, make a way to escape, so that you be able to bear up under it.
14 Darum, meine Geliebten, fliehet vor dem Götzendienst!
Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
15 Ich rede mit Verständigen; beurteilet ihr, was ich sage:
I speak as to wise men; judge you what I say.
16 Der Kelch des Segens, den wir segnen, ist er nicht Gemeinschaft mit dem Blute Christi? Das Brot, das wir brechen, ist es nicht Gemeinschaft mit dem Leibe Christi?
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the participation of the blood of the Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the participation of the body of the Christ?
17 Denn ein Brot ist es, so sind wir, die vielen, ein Leib; denn wir sind alle des einen Brotes teilhaftig.
Because the loaf is one, we, the many, are one body, for we are all partakers of the one loaf.
18 Sehet an das Israel nach dem Fleisch! Stehen nicht die, welche die Opfer essen, in Gemeinschaft mit dem Opferaltar?
Look at Israel according to the flesh: are not those who eat the sacrifices partakers with the altar?
19 Was sage ich nun? Daß das Götzenopfer etwas sei, oder daß ein Götze etwas sei?
What, then, do I say? That an idol is any thing? or, that what is sacrificed to an idol is any thing?
20 Nein, aber daß sie das, was sie opfern, den Dämonen opfern und nicht Gott! Ich will aber nicht, daß ihr in Gemeinschaft der Dämonen geratet.
But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God. I do not wish you to be partakers with demons.
21 Ihr könnet nicht des Herrn Kelch trinken und der Dämonen Kelch; ihr könnet nicht am Tische des Herrn teilhaben und am Tische der Dämonen!
You can not drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: you can not be partakers of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
22 Oder wollen wir den Herrn zur Eifersucht reizen? Sind wir stärker als er?
Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
23 Es ist alles erlaubt; aber es frommt nicht alles! Es ist alles erlaubt; aber es erbaut nicht alles!
All meats are lawful for me; but all are not profitable; all are lawful, but all do not edify.
24 Niemand suche das Seine, sondern ein jeder das des andern.
Let no one seek his own, but each the welfare of the other.
25 Alles, was auf dem Fleischmarkt feil ist, das esset, ohne um des Gewissens willen nachzuforschen;
Any thing that is sold in the market, eat, asking no questions on account of conscience:
26 denn «die Erde ist des Herrn und was sie erfüllt».
for the earth and its fullness are the Lord’s.
27 Wenn aber jemand von den Ungläubigen euch einladet und ihr hingehen wollt, so esset alles, was euch vorgesetzt wird, und forschet nicht nach um des Gewissens willen.
If any one of the unbelievers invites you to a feast, and you are disposed to go, eat any thing that is set before you, asking no questions for conscience sake.
28 Wenn aber jemand zu euch sagen würde: Das ist Götzenopferfleisch! so esset es nicht, um deswillen, der es anzeigt, und um des Gewissens willen.
But if any one say to you: This is sacrificed to idols; eat not, for the sake of him that pointed it out, and for conscience sake:
29 Ich rede aber nicht von deinem eigenen Gewissen, sondern von dem des andern; denn warum sollte meine Freiheit von dem Gewissen eines andern gerichtet werden?
conscience, I say, not your own, but that of the other. Why, then, is my liberty judged by the conscience of another?
30 Wenn ich es dankbar genieße, warum sollte ich gelästert werden über dem, wofür ich danke?
If I partake with thanksgiving, why am I evil spoken of on account of that for which I give thanks?
31 Ihr esset nun oder trinket oder was ihr tut, so tut es alles zu Gottes Ehre!
Whether, therefore, you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
32 Seid unanstößig den Juden und Griechen und der Gemeinde Gottes,
Give no occasion for stumbling, either to the Jews, or to the Greeks, or to the church of God;
33 gleichwie auch ich in allen Stücken allen zu Gefallen lebe und nicht suche, was mir, sondern was vielen frommt, damit sie gerettet werden.
even as I please all men in all things, not seeking my own good, but that of the many, in order that they may be saved.
