Markus 11
1 Und da sie nahe an Jerusalem, gen Bethphage und Bethanien kamen, an den Ölberg, sandte er zwei seiner Jünger.
As they approached Jerusalem, near to Bethphage and Bethany, beside the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples on ahead.
2 Und sagt ihnen: Gehet hin in das Dorf, das vor euch liegt, und alsobald, wenn ihr hineinkommet, werdet ihr finden ein Füllen angebunden, auf welches kein Mensch gesessen ist; löset es ab, und bringt es!
He told them, “Go into the village ahead of you, and as soon as you enter, you'll find a colt tied up that no one has ever ridden before. Untie it and bring it here.
3 Und wenn jemand zu euch spricht: Warum tut ihr daß? so saget: Der Herr hat es nötig; und alsbald wird er es hierher gehen lassen.
If anyone asks you what you are doing, tell them, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back soon.’”
4 Und sie gingen hin, und fanden ein Füllen angebunden ans Tor, außen auf dem Scheidewege, und lösen es ab.
So they set off, and found a colt tied to a door, out on the street, and they untied it.
5 Und etliche derer, die dastanden, sprachen zu ihnen: Was machet ihr, daß ihr das Füllen ablöset?
Some of the people standing around asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt”?
6 Sie aber sagten ihnen, wie Jesus gesagt hatte, und sie ließen sie.
The disciples replied just as Jesus told them to, and the people let them go.
7 Und sie führten das Füllen zu Jesus, und legten ihre Kleider darauf, und er setzte sich auf dasselbe.
They brought the colt to Jesus, put their cloaks on it, and Jesus sat on it.
8 Viele aber breiteten ihre Kleider auf den Weg; andere hieben Zweige von den Bäumen, und streuten sie auf den Weg.
Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others laid down leafy branches that they'd cut in the fields.
9 Und die vorausgingen, und die nachfolgten, schrieen und sprachen: Hosianna! Gesegnet sei, der da kommt im Namen des Herrn!
Those leading in the front and those that were following were all shouting, “Hosanna! Bless the one coming in the name of the Lord.
10 Gesegnet sei die Königsherrschaft unseres Vaters Davids, die da kommt! Hosianna in der Höhe!
Bless the kingdom of our father David that is coming! Hosanna in the highest!”
11 Und Jesus ging hinein nach Jerusalem und in den Tempel, und besah alles; des Abends aber, da es schon spät war, ging er hinaus nach Bethanien, mit den Zwölfen.
Jesus entered Jerusalem and went in to the Temple. He looked around him, observing everything, and then, since it was getting late, he returned to Bethany with the twelve disciples.
12 Und am folgenden Tag, da sie von Bethanien gingen, hungerte ihn.
The next day, as they left Bethany, Jesus was hungry.
13 Und er sah einen Feigenbaum von ferne, der Blätter hatte, und ging hin, ob er etwas darauf fände; und als er hinkam, fand er nichts auf ihm, außer Blätter, denn es war nicht die Zeit der Feigen.
From some distance away he saw a fig tree with leaves, so he went over to it to see if it had any fruit. But when he got there, he found it had only leaves, because it was not the season for figs.
14 Und er hub an und sprach zu ihm: Nun esse von dir niemand mehr Frucht in Ewigkeit. Und seine Jünger hörten es. (aiōn g165)
He said to the tree, “May no one eat fruit from you ever again.” His disciples heard his words. (aiōn g165)
15 Und sie kommen nach Jerusalem, und er ging in den Tempel, und fing an auszutreiben die Verkäufer und Käufer im Tempel; und die Tische der Wechsler und die Stände der Taubenverkäufer stieß er um;
They arrived back in Jerusalem, and Jesus went into the Temple. He started driving out the people who were buying and selling in the Temple. He overturned the tables of the money-changers and the chairs of the people selling doves.
16 Und ließ nicht zu, daß jemand ein Gefäß durch den Tempel trüge.
He stopped anyone carrying things through the Temple.
17 Und er lehrte, und sprach zu ihnen: Steht nicht geschrieben: "Mein Haus soll ein Bethaus heißen allen Völkern?" Ihr aber habt es gemacht zu einer Räuberhöhle.
He explained to them, “Doesn't Scripture say, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have turned it into a den of thieves!”
18 Und die hohen Priester und Schriftgelehrten hörten es, und suchten, wie sie ihn umbrächten, denn sie fürchteten ihn, weil alles Volk ob seiner Lehre erstaunt war.
The chief priests and religious teachers heard what had happened, and tried to find a way to kill Jesus. But they were afraid of him, for everyone was so impressed by his teaching.
19 Und als es Abend geworden war, ging er vor die Stadt hinaus.
When evening came Jesus and his disciples left the city.
20 Und als sie am Morgen vorübergingen, sahen sie den Feigenbaum verdorrt von der Wurzel aus.
The following morning as they returned, they saw the fig tree, withered from the roots up.
21 Und Petrus erinnerte sich, und spricht zu ihm: Rabbi, siehe, der Feigenbaum, den du verflucht hast, ist verdorrt.
Peter remembered what Jesus had done, and said to him, “Rabbi, look, the fig tree that you cursed has withered.”
22 Und Jesus antwortete und spricht zu ihnen: Habt Glauben an Gott;
“Trust in God,” Jesus replied.
23 Denn wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer zu diesem Berge spräche: Hebe dich, und wirf dich ins Meer; und zweifelte nicht in seinem Herzen, sondern glaubte, daß was er sagt, geschieht, dem wird werden, was er spricht.
“Believe me when I say to you that if you told this mountain, ‘Get out of here and be thrown into the sea,’ and you don't doubt in your heart, but are convinced about what you're asking, then it will happen!
24 Darum sage ich euch: Alles, was ihr bittet im Gebet, glaubet, daß ihr es empfanget, und es wird euch werden.
I'm telling you that whatever you pray for, whatever you ask, trust that you've received it, and it's yours.
25 Und wenn ihr stehet und betet, so vergebet, wenn ihr gegen jemand etwas habt, damit euch auch euer Vater in den Himmeln euere Fehler vergebe.
But when you're praying, if you have something against someone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your sins.”
26 Wenn ihr aber nicht vergebet, so wird euch euer Vater in den Himmeln euere Fehler auch nicht vergeben.
27 Und sie kommen abermals nach Jerusalem. Und als er im Tempel umherging, kommen zu ihm die hohen Priester und Ältesten,
They returned to Jerusalem, and as he was walking in the Temple, the chief priests, religious teachers, and the leaders approached him.
28 Und sagen ihm: In welcher Macht tust du solches? und wer hat dir die Macht gegeben, daß du solches tust?
“By what authority are you doing all this?” they demanded. “Who gave you the right?”
29 Jesus aber antwortete, und sprach zu ihnen: Auch ich will euch ein Wort fragen, und antwortet mir, so werde ich euch sagen, in welcher Macht ich solches tue.
“Let me ask you a question,” Jesus told them. “You answer me, and I'll tell you by whose authority I do these things.
30 Die Taufe Johannis, war sie aus dem Himmel (Gott), oder aus Menschen? antwortet mir!
John's baptism—did that come from heaven, or from people?”
31 Und sie überlegten untereinander, und sprachen: Wenn wir sagen: Aus dem Himmel, so wird er sagen: Warum habt ihr ihm nicht geglaubt?
They discussed it among themselves. They said, “If we say it's from heaven, he'll reply, ‘So why didn't you believe him?’
32 Sagen wir dagegen: Aus Menschen, so fürchten sie das Volk, denn alle hielten Johannes dafür, daß er wirklich ein Prophet war.
But if we say, it's of human origin, well…” They were afraid of the crowd, because everyone believed that John was a true prophet.
33 Und sie antworteten, und sprachen zu Jesus: Wir wissen´s nicht. Und Jesus antwortete, und sprach zu ihnen: So sage ich euch nicht in welcher Macht ich solches tue.
So they answered Jesus, “We don't know.” “Then I'm not telling you by whose authority I do these things,” replied Jesus.
