Johannes 21
1 Darnach offenbarte sich Jesus abermals den Jüngern am See Tiberias. Er offenbarte sich aber also:
After these things, Jesus showed himself again to his disciples, at the sea of Tiberias: and he showed himself thus:
2 Es waren beisammen Simon Petrus und Thomas, der Zwilling heißt, und Nathanael von Kana in Galiläa, und die (Söhne) des Zebedäus und andere zwei von seinen Jüngern.
There were together, Simon Cephas, and Thomas called the Twin, and Nathaniel who was of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of the disciples.
3 Sagt ihnen Simon Petrus: Ich gehe hin zu fischen. Sie sagten ihm: Wir gehen auch mit dir. Sie gingen hinaus, und stiegen alsbald in das Boot, und in jener Nacht fingen sie nichts.
Simon Cephas said to them: I will go and catch fishes. They said to him: We will go with thee. And they went, and embarked in a ship: and that night, they caught nothing.
4 Als es aber schon Morgen geworden war, stund Jesus am Ufer; die Jünger wußten jedoch nicht, daß es Jesus ist.
And when it was morning, Jesus stood on the shore of the sea: and the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
5 Da sagt ihnen Jesus: Kindlein, habt ihr nicht etwas Zukost? Sie antworteten ihm: Nein.
And Jesus said to them: Lads, have ye any thing to eat? They say to him: No.
6 Er aber sagte ihnen: Werfet das Netz aus auf der rechten Seite des Schiffes, und ihr werdet finden. Da warfen sie es aus, und vermochten nicht mehr es zu ziehen vor der Menge der Fische.
He said to them: Cast your net on the right side of the ship, and ye will find them. And they cast; and they could not draw up the net, because of the multitude of fishes it contained.
7 Da sagt jener Jünger, welchen Jesus lieb hatte, zu Petrus: Es ist der Herr. Als Simon Petrus hörte, daß es der Herr ist, gürtete er den Überwurf um, denn er war nackt, und stürzte sich in den See.
And that disciple whom Jesus loved, said to Cephas That is our Lord. And Simon, when he heard that it was our Lord, took his tunic, and girded his loins, (for he had been naked, ) and threw himself into the sea, to go to Jesus.
8 Die andern Jünger aber kamen mit dem Boot, denn sie waren nicht weit vom Land, sondern gegen zweihundert Ellen weit, und zogen das Netz nach mit den Fischen. -
But the other disciples came in the ship, (for they were not very far from the land, only about two hundred cubits, ) and they dragged the net with the fishes.
9 Als sie nun aufs Land gestiegen waren, sehen sie ein Kohlenfeuer am Boden, und Fische darauf gelegt, und Brot.
And when they came upon the land, they saw coals placed, and fish laid on them, and bread.
10 Jesus sagt ihnen: Bringet von den Fischen, die ihr jetzt gefangen habt.
And Jesus said to them: Bring some of the fishes, which ye have just caught.
11 Simon Petrus stieg ein, und zog das Netz ans Land, voll großer Fische, hundertunddreiundfünfzig, und obwohl es so viele waren, zerriß doch das Netz nicht.
And Simon Cephas embarked, and drew the net to land, full of huge fishes, one hundred and fifty and three. And with all this weight, the net was not rent.
12 Sagt ihnen Jesus: Kommet, und frühstücket. Keiner aber von den Jüngern wagte ihn zu fragen: Wer bist du? Da sie wußten, daß es der Herr sei.
And Jesus said to them: Come and dine. And no one of the disciples presumed to ask him, who he was; for they knew that it was our Lord.
13 Da kommt Jesus, und nimmt das Brot, und gibt es ihnen, und die Fische gleichfalls.
And Jesus came, and took bread and fishes, and gave to his disciples.
14 Das ist nun das drittemal, daß Jesus sich seinen Jüngern offenbarte, als er von den Toten auferstanden war.
This is the third time that Jesus appeared to his disciples when he had arisen from the dead.
15 Da sie nun gefrühstückt hatten, sagt Jesus zu Simon Petrus: Simon Jona, liebst du mich mehr als diese? Er sagt ihm: Ja, Herr, du weißt, daß ich dich lieb habe. Sagt er ihm: Weide meine Lämmer!
And when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Cephas: Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me, more than these do? He said to him: Yes, my Lord: thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus said to him: Feed my lambs for me.
16 Sagt er ihm wieder, zum zweitenmal: Simon Jona, liebst du mich? Sagt er ihm: Ja, Herr, du weißt, daß ich dich lieb habe. Sagt er ihm: Hüte meine Schafe!
Again, he said to him the second time: Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He said to him: Yes, my Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus said to him: Feed my sheep for me.
17 Sagt er ihm zum drittenmal: Simon Jona, hast du mich lieb? Da ward Petrus traurig, daß er zum drittenmal zu ihm sagte: Hast du mich lieb? Und sprach zu ihm: Herr, du weißt alles, du weißt, daß ich dich lieb habe. Sagt ihm Jesus: Weide meine Schafe.
Again, Jesus said to him the third time: Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? And it grieved Cephas, that he said to him the third time, Lovest thou me; and he said to him: My Lord, thou understandest all things, thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus said to him: Feed my sheep for me.
18 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage dir, als du jünger warst, da gürtest du dich selbst, und wandeltest, wo du hin wolltest, wenn du aber alt bist, so wirst du deine Hände ausstrecken, und ein anderer wird dich gürten, und führen, wohin du nicht willst.
Verily, verily, I say to thee: When thou wast young, thou girdedst thy own loins, and walkedst whither it pleased thee: but when thou shalt be old, thou wilt extend thy hands, and another will gird thy loins for thee, and will conduct thee whither thou wouldst not.
19 Dieses sagte er aber, um anzudeuten, mit welchem Tod er Gott verherrlichen würde. Und als er dies gesagt hatte, spricht er zu ihm: Folge mir nach!
And this he said, to show by what death he was to glorify God. And having said these things, he said to him: Follow me.
20 Als sich aber Petrus umwandte, sieht er den Jünger, welchen Jesus lieb hatte, nachfolgen, denselben, der auch beim Abendmahl sich an die Brust Jesus gelegt hatte, und gesprochen: Herr, wer ist, der dich verrät?
And Simon turned himself, and saw coming after him, that disciple whom Jesus loved, who fell on the breast of Jesus at the supper, and said, My Lord, who is it will betray thee?
21 Als Petrus diesen sah, spricht er zu Jesus: Herr, was ist´s aber mit diesem?
Him Cephas saw, and said to Jesus: My Lord, as for this man, what?
22 Sagt ihm Jesus: Wenn ich will, daß er bleibe, bis ich komme, was geht es dich an? Folge du mir nach.
Jesus said to him: If I will, that he abide here until I come, what is that to thee? Follow thou me.
23 Da ging dieses Wort aus unter die Brüder: Jener Jünger stirbt nicht. Aber Jesus sagte ihm nicht, daß er nicht sterbe, sondern: Wenn ich will, daß er bleibe, bis ich komme, was geht es dich an?
And this saying went forth among the brethren, that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not say, that he would not die; but, If I will that he abide here until I come, what is that to thee.
24 Dieser ist der Jünger, der von diesen Dingen zeugt, und dieses geschrieben hat, und wir wissen, daß sein Zeugnis wahr ist.
This is the disciple who hath testified of all these things, and hath written them: and we know, that his testimony is true.
25 Es sind aber auch noch viele andere Dinge, welche Jesus getan hat; wenn diese eins nach dem andern geschrieben würden, so achte ich, daß sogar die Welt die Bücher nicht fassen würde, die geschrieben würden.
And there are also many other things, which Jesus did; which, if written out with particularity, the world itself, as I suppose, would not suffice for the books that would be written. Completion of the Holy Gospel, the announcement of John the Evangelist; which he uttered, in Greek, at Ephesus.
