Johannes 14
1 Euer Herz erbebe nicht! Vertrauet gläubig auf Gott und vertrauet gläubig auf mich!
Let not your heart be troubled: Believe on God, and, on me, believe.
2 In dem Hause meines Vaters sind viele Aufenthaltsorte; wenn es nicht so wäre, würde ich euch sagen: Ich gehe hin, euch eine Stätte zu bereiten.
In the house of my Father, are, many dwellings; or else I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you.
3 Und wenn ich hingegangen bin, und euch eine Stätte bereitet habe, so komme ich wieder, und werde euch zu mir nehmen, damit wo ich bin, auch ihr seid.
And, if I go, and prepare a place for you, again, am I coming, and will take you home unto—myself, that, where, I, am, ye also, may be.
4 Und wo ich hingehe, das wisset ihr, und den Weg wisset ihr.
And, whither, I, go, ye know, the way.
5 Sagt ihm Thomas: Herr, wir wissen nicht, wo du hingehst, und wie können wir den Weg wissen?
Thomas saith unto him—Lord! we know not whither thou goest: How know we, the way?
6 Sagt ihm Jesus: Ich bin der Weg und die Wahrheit; und das Leben; niemand kommt zum Vater, außer durch mich.
Jesus saith unto him—I, am the way, and the truth, and the life: No one, cometh unto the Father, but through me.
7 Wenn ihr mich erkannt habt so werdet ihr auch meinen Vater erkennen, und von jetzt an kennet ihr ihn, und habt ihn gesehen.
If ye had been getting to know me, my Father also, had ye known: from henceforth, are ye getting to know him, and have seen him.
8 Sagt ihm Philippus: Herr, zeige uns den Vater, so genügt uns.
Philip saith unto him—Lord! show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Sagt ihm Jesus: So lange Zeit bin ich bei euch, und du hast mich nicht erkannt, Philippus? Wer mich gesehen hat, der hat den Vater gesehen; und wie sagst du: Zeige uns den Vater.
Jesus saith unto him—So long a time as this, have I been, with you, —and thou hast not come to know me, Philip? He that hath seen me, hath seen the Father. How art, thou, saying, Show us the Father?
10 Glaubst du nicht, daß ich im Vater, und der Vater in mir ist? Die Worte, welche ich zu euch rede, rede ich nicht vorn mir selbst, sondern der Vater, der in mir wohnt, der tut die Werke.
Believest thou not, that, I, am in the Father, and, the Father, is, in me? The things which I am saying unto you, from myself, I speak not; but, the Father, within me abiding, doeth his works.
11 Glaubet mir, daß ich im Vater, und der Vater in mir ist, wenn aber nicht, so glaubet mir eben um der Werke willen.
Believe me, That, I, am in the Father, and, the Father, in me; —or else, on account of the works themselves, believe ye.
12 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: wer an mich glaubt, der wird die Werke, welche ich tue, auch tun, und wird größere, als diese, tun, denn ich gehe zum Vater.
Verily, verily, I say unto you—He that believeth on me, the works which, I, am doing, he also, shall do; and, greater than these, shall he do, because, I, unto the Father, am going, —
13 Und was ihr bitten werdet in meinem Namen, das werde ich euch tun, damit der Vater in dem Sohne verherrlicht werden.
And because, whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, the same, will I do, that, the Father, may be glorified, in the Son:
14 Wenn ihr etwas bitten werdet in meinem Namen, so werde ich es tun.
If anything ye shall ask [me] in my name, the same, will I do.
15 Wenn ihr mich liebet, so werdet ihr meine Gebote halten,
If ye be loving me, my commandments, ye will keep;
16 Und ich werde den Vater bitten, und er wird euch einen andern Beistand geben, daß er bei euch bleibe ewiglich. (aiōn g165)
And, I, will request the Father, and, Another Advocate, will he give unto you, that he may be with you age-abidingly, (aiōn g165)
17 Den Geist der Wahrheit, welchen die Welt nicht empfangen kann, denn sie sieht ihn nicht, und kennt ihn nicht; ihr aber kennet ihn, denn er bleibt bei euch, und wird in euch sein.
The Spirit of truth, —which, the world, cannot receive, because it beholdeth it not, nor getteth to know it. But, ye, are getting to know it; because, with you, it abideth, and, in you, it is.
18 Ich hinterlasse euch nicht als Waisen; ich komme zu euch.
I will not leave you bereft, —I am coming unto you.
19 Es ist noch um ein Kleines, und die Welt sieht mich nicht mehr, ihr aber sehet mich, denn ich lebe, und ihr werdet leben.
Yet a little, and, the world, no longer beholdeth me; but, ye, behold me, —Because, I, live, ye also, shall live.
20 An jenem Tage werdet ihr erkennen, daß ich im Vater bin, und ihr in mir, und ich in euch.
In that day, shall ye get to know, That, I, am in my Father, and, ye, in me, and, I, in you.
21 Wer meine Gebote hat, und sie hält, der ist es, der mich liebt; wer aber mich liebt, der wird von meinem Vater geliebt werden, und ich werde ihn lieben, und mich ihm offenbaren.
He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he, it is that loveth me; and, he that loveth me, shall be loved by my Father, and, I, will love him, and will manifest, myself, unto him.
22 Sagt ihm Judas, nicht der Ischariot: Herr, wie kommt es, daß du dich uns offenbaren willst, und nicht der Welt?
Judas, not the Iscariot, saith unto him—Lord! what hath happened, that, unto us, thou art about to manifest thyself, and, not unto the world?
23 Jesus antwortete, und sagte ihm: Wenn jemand mich liebt, so wird er mein Wort halten, und mein Vater wird ihn lieben, und wir werden zu ihm kommen, und Wohnung bei ihm nehmen.
Jesus answered, and said unto him—If any man be loving me, my word, he will keep, and, my Father, will love him, —and, unto him, will we come, and, an abode with him, will we make.
24 Wer mich nicht liebt, der hält meine Worte nicht; und das Wort, welches ihr hört, ist nicht mein, sondern des Vaters, der mich gesandt hat.
He that loveth me not, doth not keep, my word; —and, the word which ye hear, is not mine, but, the Father’s who sent me.
25 Solches habe ich zu euch geredet, da ich noch bei euch weile.
These things, have I spoken unto you, With you abiding;
26 Aber der Beistand, der heilige Geist, welchen der Vater in meinem Namen senden wird, derselbige wird euch alles lehren, und euch erinnern an alles, was ich euch gesagt habe.
But, the Advocate, The Holy Spirit, which the Father will send in my name, He, will teach you all things, and will put you in mind, of all things which, I, told you.
27 Frieden hinterlasse ich euch; meinen Frieden gebe ich euch; ich gebe euch nicht, wie die Welt gibt; euer Herz erbebe nicht, und zage nicht.
Peace, I leave with you, My own peace, give, I, unto you, —Not as, the world, giveth, give, I, unto you: —Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Ihr habt gehört, daß ich euch sagte: Ich gehe hin, und komme zu euch. Wenn ihr mich liebtet, so würdet ihr euch freuen, daß ich zum Vater gehe, denn der Vater ist größer als ich.
Ye heard that, I, said unto you—I go my way, and I come unto you, —Had ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, that I am going unto the Father, for, the Father, is, greater than I.
29 Und jetzt habe ich es euch gesagt, ehe es geschieht, damit, wenn es geschieht, ihr glaubet.
But, now, have I told you, before it cometh to pass, that, whensoever it shall come to pass, ye may believe.
30 Ich werde nicht mehr vieles mit euch reden; denn es kommt der Fürst der Welt, und hat nichts an mir.
No longer, many things, will I speak with you; for, the world’s ruler, is coming, and, in me, hath, nothing, —
31 Aber (es geschieht) damit die Welt erkenne, daß ich den Vater liebe, und also tue, wie mir der Vater geboten hat. Stehet auf, und lasset uns von hinnen gehen!
But, that the world may get to know that I love the Father, and just as the Father hath given me commandment, so, I do. Be rousing yourselves! let us be leading on from hence.
