Zephanja 3
1 Wehe der ungehorsamen und beschmutzten, der gewalttätigen Stadt!
Woe to! [the] filthy [one] and [the] defiled [one] the city which oppresses.
2 Sie hört auf keine Warnung, nimmt keine Zurechtweisung an; auf den HERRN vertraut sie nicht, und ihrem Gott naht sie sich nicht.
Not it has listened to a voice not it has accepted correction in Yahweh not it has trusted to God its not it has drawn near.
3 Ihre Fürsten in ihrer Mitte sind brüllende Löwen, ihre Richter Abendwölfe, die (von ihrem Raube) nichts für den Morgen übriglassen.
Officials its in midst its [are] lions roaring judges its [are] wolves of [the] evening [which] not they gnaw to the morning.
4 Ihre Propheten sind leichtfertige, betrügerische Menschen; ihre Priester entweihen das Heilige, tun dem Gesetz Gewalt an.
Prophets its [are] insolent men of treacheri priests its they profane [the] sanctuary they do violence to [the] law.
5 Der HERR aber ist gerecht in ihrer Mitte, er tut nichts Unrechtes; Morgen für Morgen läßt er sein Recht ans Licht treten, ohne es an etwas fehlen zu lassen; aber der Ungerechte weiß nichts von Scham.
Yahweh [is] righteous in midst its not he does injustice in the morning in the morning judgment his he gives to the light not he fails and not [is] knowing an unrighteous person shame.
6 »Ich habe Völker ausgerottet, zerstört sind ihre Mauerzinnen; ich habe ihre Landstraßen öde gemacht, so daß niemand mehr auf ihnen wandert; verheert sind ihre Städte, menschenleer, ohne Bewohner.
I have cut off nations they are desolate corners their I have made desolate streets their because not [one who] passes by they have been laid waste cities their because not anyone from not inhabitant.
7 Ich dachte: ›Nun wird sie mich gewiß fürchten, wird Zurechtweisung annehmen, damit ihre Wohnstätte nicht verheert wird und nicht alles eintritt, was ich ihr angedroht habe‹; doch nur um so eifriger sind sie bemüht gewesen, in allen Stücken ihr böses Tun noch zu verschlimmern.«
I said surely you will fear me you will accept correction and not it will be cut off dwelling its all that I have visited on it nevertheless they rose early they corrupted all practices their.
8 »Darum harret meiner« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN – »auf den Tag, an dem ich als Zeuge auftrete! Darin besteht nämlich mein Gericht, daß ich Völker versammle und Königreiche zusammenbringe, um meinen Grimm über sie auszugießen, die ganze Glut meines Zorns; denn durch das Feuer meines Eifers soll die ganze Erde verzehrt werden!
Therefore wait for me [the] utterance of Yahweh for [the] day to arise I for booty for judgment my [is] to gather nations to assemble I kingdoms to pour out on them indignation my all [the] burning of anger my for in [the] fire of jealousy my it will be consumed all the earth.
9 Ja, alsdann will ich den Völkern andere, reine Lippen schaffen, damit sie allesamt den Namen des HERRN anrufen und ihm einmütig dienen.
For then I will restore to peoples a lip purified to call all of them on [the] name of Yahweh to serve him a shoulder one.
10 Von jenseits der Ströme Äthiopiens werden sie, meine Anbeter, die Schar meiner Zerstreuten mir als Geschenk darbringen.
From [the] other side of [the] rivers of Cush worshippers my [the] daughter of (scattered [ones] my *L(abh)*) they will bring! offering my.
11 An jenem Tage wirst du (Jerusalem) dich nicht mehr zu schämen brauchen wegen aller deiner Missetaten, durch die du dich gegen mich versündigt hast; denn alsdann werde ich aus deiner Mitte alle wegschaffen, die übermütig in dir frohlocken, und du wirst dich hinfort auf meinem heiligen Berge nicht mehr überheben.
On the day that not you will be ashamed from all practices your which you have transgressed against me for then - I will remove from midst your [the] exultant [ones] of pride your and not you will repeat to be haughty again on [the] mountain of holiness my.
12 Und ich werde in deiner Mitte ein demütiges und geringes Volk übriglassen, das sein Vertrauen auf den Namen des HERRN setzt.
And I will leave in midst your a people afflicted and poor and they will take refuge in [the] name of Yahweh.
13 Die dann von Israel noch übrig sind, werden nichts Unrechtes mehr tun und keine Lüge reden, und in ihrem Munde man wird keine trügerische Zunge mehr finden, sondern sie werden eine ruhig weidende und sich lagernde Herde bilden, die von niemand aufgeschreckt wird.«

14 Juble, Tochter Zion! Jauchzet, ihr vom Hause Israel! Freue dich und frohlocke von ganzem Herzen, Tochter Jerusalem!
Shout for joy O daughter of Zion shout O Israel rejoice and exult with all [the] heart O daughter of Jerusalem.
15 Aufgehoben hat der HERR die über dich verhängten Gerichte und deine Feinde hinweggefegt! Israels König, der HERR, weilt in deiner Mitte: du wirst hinfort kein Unheil mehr sehen.
He has removed Yahweh judgments your he has cleared away enemy your [the] king of Israel - Yahweh [is] in midst your not (you will fear *L(V)*) evil again.
16 An jenem Tage wird man Jerusalem zurufen: »Fürchte dich nicht, Zion! Laß deine Hände nicht verzagt sinken!
On the day that it will be said to Jerusalem may not you be afraid O Zion may not they drop hands your.
17 Der HERR, dein Gott, ist in deiner Mitte, ein Held, der Rettung schafft; er hat seine Freude an dir mit Entzücken, erneuert dich in seiner Liebe, frohlockt über dich mit Jubel.
Yahweh God your [is] in midst your a warrior [who] he will give victory he will rejoice on you with joy he will be silent in love his he will be glad on you with a shout of joy.
18 Die jetzt fern von der Festversammlung Trauernden will ich sammeln: sie stammen ja von dir, auf denen jetzt Schmach lastet.

19 Wisse wohl: ich will zu jener Zeit mit all deinen Bedrückern ins Gericht gehen, dagegen den Hinkenden helfen und die Zerstreuten sammeln und will sie zur Ehre und zum Ruhm machen in allen Ländern, wo sie jetzt verachtet sind.

20 Zu jener Zeit will ich euch heimführen und zu jener Zeit euch sammeln; denn ich will euch zum Ruhm und zur Ehre unter allen Völkern der Erde machen, wenn ich euer Geschick vor euren Augen wende: der HERR hat es verheißen.«
