1 Ich empfehle euch aber unsere Schwester Phöbe, die im Dienst der Gemeinde zu Kenchreä steht:
Now I commend to you our sister Phoebe who is a helper of the congregation at Cenchreae,
2 nehmt sie im Herrn auf, wie es sich für Heilige geziemt, und steht ihr in allen Fällen, wo sie euer bedarf, hilfreich zur Seite; denn sie hat gleichfalls vielen Beistand geleistet, auch mir persönlich.
so that ye may welcome her in the Lord worthily of the sanctified, and that ye provide for her in whatever matter she may have need of you, for she also became a helper of many, and of me myself.

17 Ich ermahne euch aber, liebe Brüder, auf der Hut vor denen zu sein, welche die Spaltungen und Ärgernisse erregen im Gegensatz zu der Lehre, in der ihr unterwiesen worden seid: geht ihnen aus dem Wege;
Now I beseech you, brothers, watch out for those who make the divisions and the stumbling blocks, contrary to the doctrine that ye learned, and turn away from them.
18 denn solche Menschen dienen nicht unserm Herrn Christus, sondern ihrem Bauche und betören durch ihre schön klingenden Reden und glatten Worte die Herzen der Arglosen.
For such kind serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly. And by their smooth words and elegant speech they deceive the hearts of the naive.
19 Die Kunde von eurem (Glaubens-) Gehorsam ist ja zu allen gedrungen. Deshalb habe ich meine Freude an euch, wünsche aber, daß ihr weise seid, wo es das Gute gilt, dagegen einfältig gegenüber dem Bösen.
For your obedience reached to all men. Therefore I rejoice over you, but I want you to be indeed wise in the good and pure in the evil.
20 Der Gott des Friedens aber wird den Satan unter euren Füßen zertreten, und zwar in Bälde. Die Gnade unsers Herrn Jesus sei mit euch!
And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is with you.

26 jetzt aber bekanntgegeben und auch durch prophetische Schriften nach dem Auftrage des ewigen Gottes bei allen Heidenvölkern verkündigt worden ist, um Glaubensgehorsam (bei ihnen) zu wirken: (aiōnios g166)
but that was now revealed, and by prophetic scriptures, according to a commandment of the eternal God that was made known to all the nations for obedience of faith, (aiōnios g166)
