Psalm 93

1 Der HERR ist König! Er hat sich gekleidet in Hoheit; in Hoheit hat der HERR sich gekleidet, mit Kraft umgürtet, auch der Erdkreis steht fest, so daß er nicht wankt.

The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with excellency; the Lord is clothed, he hath girded himself with strength: [therefore] also the world is firmly established, that it cannot be moved.

2 Fest steht dein Thron von Anbeginn, von Ewigkeit her bist du.

Firmly established is thy throne from the beginning: from everlasting art thou [God].

3 Fluten erhoben, o HERR, Fluten erhoben ihr Brausen, Fluten werden (auch weiter) ihr Tosen erheben –

The rivers have lifted up, O Lord, the rivers have lifted up their voice; the rivers lift up their waves.

4 mächtiger als das Brausen gewaltiger Wasser, mächtiger als die brandenden Meereswogen ist der HERR in der Himmelshöhe!

[But] more than the noise of great waters, than the mighty billows of the sea, is the Lord excellent on high.

5 Was du verordnet hast, ist völlig zuverlässig, deinem Hause gebührt Heiligkeit, o HERR, für die Dauer der Zeiten.

Thy testimonies are exceedingly steadfast: in thy house abideth holiness, O Lord! to the utmost length of days.
