Psalm 86
1 Ein Gebet Davids. Neige, o HERR, dein Ohr, erhöre mich,
Yahweh, listen [IDM] to what I say and answer me, because I am weak and needy.
2 Bewahre meine Seele, denn ich bin fromm; hilf du, mein Gott, deinem Knecht, der auf dich vertraut!
Prevent me from dying now, because I (am loyal to/continue to believe in) you; save/rescue me, because I serve you and I trust in you, my God.
3 Sei mir gnädig, o Allherr, denn zu dir rufe ich allezeit.
Lord, be kind to me, because I cry out to you all during the day.
4 Erfreue das Herz deines Knechtes, denn zu dir, o Allherr, erheb’ ich meine Seele.
Lord, cause me to be glad, because I (pray to/worship) [IDM] you.
5 Denn du, o Allherr, bist gütig und bereit zum Verzeihen, bist reich an Gnade für alle, die dich anrufen.
Lord, you are good [to us], and you forgive [us]; you faithfully love very much all those who (pray/call out) to you.
6 Vernimm, o HERR, mein Gebet und merke auf mein lautes Flehen!
Lord, listen to my prayer; hear me when I cry out to you to help me.
7 Bin ich in Not, so ruf’ ich zu dir, denn du erhörst mich.
When I have troubles, I call out to you, because you answer me.
8 Keiner kommt dir gleich unter den Göttern, o Allherr, und nichts ist deinen Werken vergleichbar.
Lord, among all the gods [whom the heathen nations worship], there is no one like you; not one of them has done [the great things] that you have done.
9 Alle Völker, die du geschaffen, werden kommen und vor dir anbeten, o Allherr, und deinen Namen ehren;
Lord, [some day, people from] all the nations that you have established will come and bow down in front of you and they will praise you [MTY].
10 denn du bist groß, und Wunder tust du: ja du, nur du bist Gott.
You are great, and you do wonderful/marvelous things; only you are God.
11 Lehre mich, HERR, deinen Weg, daß ich ihn wandle in deiner Wahrheit; richte mein Herz auf das Eine, daß es deinen Namen fürchte!
Yahweh, teach me what you want me to do in order that I may conduct my life according to what you say, which is true. Cause/Teach me to revere you.
12 Preisen will ich dich, Allherr, mein Gott, von ganzem Herzen und deinen Namen ewiglich ehren;
Lord, my God, I [will] thank you with all my inner being, and I will praise you forever.
13 denn deine Gnade ist groß gegen mich gewesen: du hast meine Seele errettet aus der Tiefe des Totenreichs. (Sheol h7585)
You faithfully love me very much; you have prevented me from [dying and going to] the place where dead people are. (Sheol h7585)
14 O Gott! Vermessene haben sich gegen mich erhoben, eine Rotte von Schreckensmännern steht mir nach dem Leben; sie haben dich nicht vor Augen.
But God, proud men are [trying to] attack me; a gang/group of cruel men are wanting to kill me; they are men who do not have any (respect for/interest in) you.
15 Doch du, o Allherr, bist ein Gott voll Erbarmen und Gnade, langmütig und reich an Gnade und Treue.
But Lord, you always are mercifully and kind; you do not become angry quickly, you faithfully love us very much and always do for us what you have promised to do.
16 Wende dich zu mir und sei mir gnädig; verleih deine Kraft deinem Knecht und hilf dem Sohne deiner Magd!
Look down toward me and be merciful to me; cause me to be strong and save/rescue me who serves you [faithfully] like my mother did.
17 Tu ein Zeichen an mir zum Guten, daß meine Feinde es sehn und sich schämen müssen, weil du, o HERR, mein Helfer und Tröster gewesen!
Yahweh, do something to show me that you are being good to me in order that those who hate me will see that you have encouraged me and helped me, and as a result they will be ashamed.
