Psalm 77
1 Dem Musikmeister über die Jeduthuniden; von Asaph ein Psalm. Laut ruf’ ich zu Gott, ja ich will schreien,
“To the chief musician on Jeduthun, by Assaph a psalm.” [I lift up] my voice unto God, and I cry; [I lilt up] my voice unto God: do then give ear unto me.
2 Wenn Drangsalszeiten über mich kommen, such’ ich den Allherrn; meine Hand ist nachts ohn’ Ermatten ausgestreckt, meine Seele will sich nicht trösten lassen.
On the day of my distress I sought the Lord; in the night my hand was stretched out, and did not cease: my soul refused to be comforted.
3 Denk’ ich an Gott, so muß ich seufzen; sinne ich nach, so verzagt mein Geist. (SELA)
I think of God, and moan: I reflect, and my spirit is overwhelmed. (Selah)
4 Du hältst mir die Augenlider offen, ich bin voll Unruhe und kann nicht reden.
Thou holdest my eyes awake: I am troubled and I cannot speak.
5 Ich überdenke die Tage der Vorzeit, die längst entschwundenen Jahre;
I think over the days of old, the years of ancient times.
6 ich denke bei Nacht an mein Saitenspiel, ich sinne in meinem Herzen nach, und es grübelt mein Geist und fragt:
I call to remembrance my song in the night; with my own heart I reflect: and my spirit maketh diligent search.
7 »Wird der Allherr auf ewig verstoßen und niemals wieder Gnade üben?
Will the Lord cast me off for ever? and will he never more give his favor again?
8 Ist seine Güte für immer erschöpft? sind seine Verheißungen abgetan für alle Zukunft?
Is his kindness spent for ever? is his promise come to an end for all generations?
9 Hat Gott vergessen, gnädig zu sein, oder im Zorn sein Erbarmen verschlossen?« (SELA)
Hath God forgotten to be gracious? or hath he shut up in anger his mercies? (Selah)
10 Da sagte ich mir: »Das bekümmert mich schmerzlich, daß das Walten des Höchsten sich hat geändert.«
And I said, This shall be my entreaty, [for] the years of the right hand of the Most High.
11 Ich will gedenken der Taten des HERRN, will gedenken deiner Wunder von der Vorzeit her,
I will remember the deeds of the Lord; for I will remember out of ancient times thy wonders.
12 will sinnen über all dein Tun und deine großen Taten erwägen.
I will meditate also of all thy work, and on thy deeds will I reflect.
13 O Gott, erhaben ist dein Weg: wo ist eine Gottheit so groß wie Gott?
O God, in holiness is thy way: where is there a god so great as God?
14 Du bist der Gott, der Wunder tut, du hast deine Macht an den Völkern bewiesen,
Thou art the God that dost wonders: thou hast made known among the people thy strength.
15 hast dein Volk erlöst mit starkem Arm, die Kinder Jakobs und Josephs. (SELA)
Thou hast redeemed with [a mighty] arm thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. (Selah)
16 Als die Wasser dich sahen, o Gott, als die Wasser dich sahen, erbebten sie, auch die Tiefen des Weltmeers zitterten;
The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they shook: also the depths trembled.
17 die Wolken ergossen sich in strömenden Regen, das Gewölk ließ Donner erkrachen, und deine Pfeile fuhren einher;
The clouds poured out water; the skies sent forth thunder: also thy arrows sped along.
18 deine Donnerstimme dröhnte am Himmelsgewölbe, Blitze erhellten den Erdkreis, es bebte und schwankte die Erde.
The voice of thy thunder was in the whirlwind; lightnings gave light to the world; the earth trembled and quaked,
19 Durchs Meer ging dein Weg dahin und dein Pfad durch gewaltige Fluten; doch deine Spuren waren nicht zu erkennen.
Through the sea led thy way, and thy path was through mighty waters, and thy footsteps could not be known.
20 Du hast dein Volk geführt wie eine Herde unter Leitung von Mose und Aaron.
Thou didst lead like a flock thy people by means of Moses and Aaron.
