Psalm 52

1 Dem Musikmeister; ein Lehrgedicht Davids, als der Edomiter Doeg kam und dem Saul die Meldung brachte, David sei in das Haus Ahimelechs gekommen. Was rühmst du dich der Bosheit, du Gewaltmensch?

To the choirmaster a poem of David. When came - Doeg the Edomite and he told to Saul and he said to him he has gone David to [the] house of Ahimelech. Why? do you boast in evil O mighty [man] [the] covenant loyalty of God [is] all the day.

2 Auf Unheil sinnt deine Zunge wie ein scharfes Schermesser, du Ränkeschmied!

Destruction it plots tongue your like a razor sharpened O doer of deceit.

3 Du liebst das Böse mehr als das Gute, sprichst lieber Lügen als Gerechtigkeit. (SELA)

You love evil more than good falsehood - more than speaking righteousness (Selah)

4 Du liebst nur unheilvolle Reden, du trügerische Zunge!

You love all words of swallowing a tongue of deceit.

5 So wird denn Gott dich auch vernichten für immer, dich wegraffen und herausreißen aus dem Zelt, dich entwurzeln aus der Lebenden Land! (SELA)

Also God he will tear down you to perpetuity he will snatch up you and he will tear away you from a tent and he will root up you from [the] land of living [people] (Selah)

6 Die Gerechten werden es sehn und sich fürchten, über ihn aber spotten:

So they may see righteous [people] so they may fear and on him they will laugh.

7 »Seht, das ist der Mann, der nicht Gott zu seiner Schutzwehr machte, vielmehr sich verließ auf seinen großen Reichtum und stark sich dünkte durch seine Bosheit!«

There! the man [who] not he made God refuge his and he trusted in [the] greatness of rich[es] his he was strong in destruction his.

8 Ich aber bin wie ein grünender Ölbaum im Hause Gottes, ich vertraue auf Gottes Gnade immer und ewig.

And I - [am] like an olive tree luxuriant in [the] house of God I trust in [the] covenant loyalty of God forever and ever.

9 Preisen will ich dich immer, denn du hast’s vollführt, will rühmen deinen Namen, daß er so herrlich ist, vor deinen Frommen.

I will give thanks to you for ever for you have acted and I may wait for name your for [it is] good before faithful [people] your.
