Psalm 46

1 Dem Musikmeister, von den Korahiten, im Bass-Stimmsatz, ein Lied. Gott ist uns Zuflucht und Stärke,

To the choirmaster of [the] sons of Korah on alamoth a song. God of us [is] a refuge and strength a help in troubles he is found exceedingly.

2 Darum bangen wir nicht, wenngleich die Erde vergeht, wenn Berge mitten im Meer versinken;

There-fore not we will fear when changes [the] earth and when shake mountains in [the] heart of [the] seas.

3 mögen tosen, mögen schäumen seine Wogen, mögen beben die Berge von seinem Ungestüm: der HERR der Heerscharen ist mit uns, ein’ feste Burg ist uns der Gott Jakobs! (SELA)

They will roar they will foam waters its they will shake mountains at swelling its (Selah)

4 Ein Strom ist da: seine Bäche erfreuen die Gottesstadt, das Heiligtum, die Wohnung des Höchsten.

A river streams its they make glad [the] city of God [the] holy [place] of [the] dwellings of [the] Most High.

5 Gott ist in ihrer Mitte: sie wird nicht wanken, Gott schützt sie, schon wenn der Morgen tagt.

God [is] in midst its not it will be shaken he will help it God to [the] turning of [the] morning.

6 Völker tobten, Königreiche wankten: er ließ seinen Donner dröhnen, da zerfloß die Erde.

They were in a tumult nations they shook kingdoms he gave with voice his it melted [the] earth.

7 Der HERR der Heerscharen ist mit uns, ein’ feste Burg ist uns der Gott Jakobs! (SELA)

Yahweh of hosts [is] with us [is] a refuge of us [the] God of Jacob (Selah)

8 Kommt her und schauet die Taten des HERRN, der Wunderbares wirket auf Erden,

Come see [the] works of Yahweh who he has appointed desolations on the earth.

9 der den Kriegen ein Ziel setzt bis ans Ende der Erde, der Bogen zerbricht und Speere zerschlägt, Kriegswagen mit Feuer verbrennt!

[he is] making cease Wars to [the] end of the earth bow[s] he breaks and he cuts in two spear[s] carts he burns with fire.

10 »Laßt ab und erkennt, daß ich (nur) Gott bin, erhaben unter den Völkern, erhaben auf Erden!«

Be quiet and know that I [am] God I will be exalted among the nations I will be exalted on the earth.

11 Der HERR der Heerscharen ist mit uns, ein’ feste Burg ist uns der Gott Jakobs! (SELA)
