Psalm 33
1 Jubelt, ihr Gerechten, über den HERRN! Den Aufrichtigen ziemet Lobgesang.
Shout for joy O righteous [people] in Yahweh for upright [people] [is] fitting praise.
2 Preiset den HERRN mit der Zither, spielt ihm auf zehnsaitiger Harfe!
Give thanks to Yahweh with harp with lyre of ten make music to him.
3 Singt ihm ein neues Lied, laßt laut die Saiten erklingen mit Jubelschall!
Sing to him a song new do well to play with a shout of joy.
4 Denn das Wort des HERRN ist wahrhaftig, und in all seinem Tun ist er treu;
For [is] upright [the] word of Yahweh and all work his [is] in faithfulness.
5 er liebt Gerechtigkeit und Recht; von der Gnade des HERRN ist die Erde voll.
[he is] loving Righteousness and justice [the] covenant loyalty of Yahweh it is full the earth.
6 Durch das Wort des HERRN sind die Himmel geschaffen, und ihr ganzes Heer durch den Hauch seines Mundes.
By [the] word of Yahweh [the] heavens they were made and by [the] breath of mouth his all host their.
7 Er türmt die Wasser des Meeres auf wie einen Wall und legt die Fluten in Vorratskammern.
[he is] gathering Like heap [the] waters of the sea [he is] putting in storehouses [the] deeps.
8 Es fürchte den HERRN die ganze Erde, vor ihm müssen beben alle Erdenbewohner;
Let them fear from Yahweh all the earth from him let them be afraid all [the] inhabitants of [the] world.
9 denn er sprach: da geschah’s; er gebot: da stand es da.
For he he spoke and it was he he commanded and it stood forth.
10 Der HERR hat den Ratschluß der Heiden zerschlagen, die Gedanken der Völker vereitelt.
Yahweh he makes ineffectual [the] counsel of nations he frustrates [the] plans of peoples.
11 Der Ratschluß des HERRN bleibt ewig bestehn, seines Herzens Gedanken von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.
[the] counsel of Yahweh for ever it stands [the] plans of heart his to a generation and a generation.
12 Wohl dem Volk, dessen Gott der HERR ist, dem Volk, das zum Eigentum er sich erwählt hat!
How blessed! [is] the nation which Yahweh [is] God its the people - [which] he has chosen to an inheritance for himself.
13 Vom Himmel blickt der HERR herab, sieht alle Menschenkinder;
From [the] heavens he looks Yahweh he sees all [the] children of humankind.
14 von der Stätte, wo er wohnt, überschaut er alle Bewohner der Erde,
From [the] place of dwelling his he looks to all [the] inhabitants of the earth.
15 er, der allen ihr Herz gestaltet, der acht hat auf all ihr Tun.
The [one who] forms together heart their the [one who] attends to all deeds their.
16 Ein König ist nicht geschützt durch große Heeresmacht, ein Kriegsheld rettet sich nicht durch große Kraft;
Not king [is] saved by greatness of army a warrior not he is delivered by greatness of strength.
17 betrogen ist, wer von Rossen die Rettung erhofft, denn trotz all ihrer Stärke vermögen sie nicht zu retten.
[is] a vain hope Horse for victory and by [the] greatness of strength its not it delivers.
18 Bedenke: das Auge des HERRN ruht auf denen, die ihn fürchten, auf denen, die seiner Gnade harren,
Here! [the] eye of Yahweh [is] to [those] fearing him to [those who] hope for covenant loyalty his.
19 auf daß er ihre Seele vom Tode errette und sie am Leben erhalte in Hungersnot.
To deliver from death life their and to preserve alive them in famine.
20 Unsre Seele harret des HERRN: unsre Hilfe und unser Schild ist er.
Self our it waits for Yahweh [is] help our and shield our he.
21 Ja, seiner freut sich unser Herz, denn auf seinen heiligen Namen vertrauen wir.
For in him it rejoices heart our for in [the] name of holiness his we trust.
22 Deine Gnade walte über uns, o HERR, gleichwie wir auf dich geharrt haben!
May it be covenant loyalty your O Yahweh toward us just as we hope for you.
