Psalm 27
1 Von David. Der HERR ist mein Licht und mein Heil:
“Of David.” The Lord is my light and my salvation; of whom shall I be afraid? the Lord is the fortress of my life; of whom shall I have dread?
2 Wenn Übeltäter gegen mich anstürmen, mich zu zerfleischen, meine Widersacher und Feinde: sie straucheln und fallen.
When evil-doers come near against me to eat up my flesh, my assailants and my enemies at me: then do they stumble and fall.
3 Mag ein Heer sich gegen mich lagern: mein Herz ist ohne Furcht; mag Krieg sich gegen mich erheben: trotzdem bleib’ ich getrost.
If an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: if war should arise against me, even then will I have trust.
4 Nur eines erbitt’ ich vom HERRN, danach trag’ ich Verlangen: daß ich weilen möge im Hause des HERRN mein ganzes Leben hindurch, um anzuschauen die Huld des HERRN und der Andacht mich hinzugeben in seinem Tempel.
One thing have I asked of the Lord, that I will seek for: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the loveliness of the Lord, and to be every morning early in his temple.
5 Denn er birgt mich in seiner Hütte am Tage des Unheils, beschirmt mich im Schirm seines Zeltes, hebt hoch mich auf einen Felsen empor.
For he will hide me in his pavilion on the day of evil; he will conceal me in the secret of his tabernacle; upon a rock will he place me high.
6 So wird sich denn mein Haupt erheben über meine Feinde rings um mich her; und opfern will ich in seinem Zelte Schlachtopfer mit Jubelschall, will singen und spielen dem HERRN!
And now will my head be lifted up above my enemies all round about me; and I will sacrifice in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy: I will sing, and I will triumphantly play unto the Lord.
7 Höre mich, HERR, laut ruf’ ich zu dir! Ach sei mir gnädig, erhöre mich!
Hear, O Lord, my voice, [when] I call, and be gracious unto me, and answer me.
8 Mein Herz hält dein Gebot dir vor: »Ihr sollt mein Angesicht suchen!« Darum suche ich, o HERR, dein Angesicht.
Of thee, said my heart, “Seek ye my presence”: thy presence, Lord, will I seek.
9 Verbirg dein Angesicht nicht vor mir, weise nicht ab deinen Knecht im Zorn! Du bist meine Hilfe gewesen: verwirf mich nicht und verlaß mich nicht, du Gott meines Heils!
Hide [then] not thy face from me; reject not in anger thy servant, thou [who] hast been my help: cast me not off, nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 Wenn Vater und Mutter mich verlassen, so nimmt doch der HERR mich auf.
For my father and my mother have forsaken me; but the Lord will take me up.
11 Lehre mich, HERR, deinen Weg und führe mich auf ebener Bahn um meiner Feinde willen!
Point me out thy way, O Lord! and guide me on a level path, because of those that regard me enviously.
12 Gib mich nicht preis der Gier meiner Dränger! Denn Lügenzeugen sind gegen mich aufgetreten und schnauben Gewalttat (gegen mich).
Give me not up to the [revengeful] desire of my assailants; for there are risen up against me false witnesses, and such as utter violence.
13 Gott Lob! Ich bin gewiß, die Güte des HERRN zu schauen im Lande der Lebenden.
Unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of life—
14 Harre des HERRN, sei getrost, und dein Herz sei unverzagt! Ja, harre des HERRN!
Wait on the Lord; be strong, and let thy heart be of good courage; and only wait on the Lord.
