Psalm 25
1 Von David. Zu dir, o HERR, erheb’ ich meine Seele,
“Of David.” Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
2 mein Gott, auf dich vertraue ich:
O my God, in thee do I trust, let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me.
3 Nein, keiner, der auf dich harrt, wird enttäuscht; enttäuscht wird nur, wer dich treulos verläßt. –
Yea, none that wait on thee will be put to shame: let those be put to shame who deal treacherously without cause.
4 Tu mir kund, o HERR, deine Wege, deine Pfade lehre mich!
Show me, O Lord, thy ways; teach me thy paths.
5 Laß mich wandeln in deiner Wahrheit und lehre mich, denn du bist der Gott meines Heils: deiner harre ich allezeit. –
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art the God of my salvation: on thee do I wait all the day.
6 Gedenke der Erweise deines Erbarmens, o HERR, und daß deine Gnadenverheiße aus der Urzeit stammen;
Remember thy mercies, O Lord, and thy kindnesses; for they are from everlasting.
7 gedenke nicht der Sünden meiner Jugend und meiner Vergehen: nein, nach deiner Gnade gedenke meiner um deiner Güte willen!
The sins of my youth and my transgressions do not remember: according to thy kindness bear thou me in remembrance, for the sake of thy goodness, O Lord.
8 Gütig und aufrichtig ist der HERR; darum weist er den Sündern den rechten Weg,
Good and upright is the Lord: therefore he pointeth out to sinners the right way.
9 läßt Bedrückte wandeln in richtiger Weise und lehrt die Dulder seinen Weg.
He guideth the meek in justice, and he teacheth the meek his way.
10 Alle Pfade des HERRN sind Gnade und Treue denen, die seinen Bund und seine Gebote halten.
All the paths of the Lord are kindness and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 Um deines Namens willen, o HERR, vergib mir meine Schuld, denn sie ist groß! –
For the sake of thy name, O Lord, pardon my iniquity: although it is great.
12 Wie steht’s mit dem Mann, der den HERRN fürchtet? Dem zeigt er den Weg, den er wählen soll.
Who is that man that feareth the Lord? to him will he point out the way which he is to choose?
13 Er selbst wird wohnen im Glück, und seine Kinder werden das Land besitzen.
His soul shall abide in happiness: and his seed shall inherit the land.
14 Freundschaft hält der HERR mit denen, die ihn fürchten, und sein Bund will zur Erkenntnis sie führen. –
The secret counsel of the Lord is for those that fear him, and his covenant—to make it known to them.
15 Meine Augen sind stets auf den HERRN gerichtet, denn er wird meine Füße aus dem Netze ziehn.
My eyes are ever [directed] toward the Lord; for he will draw out of the net my feet.
16 Wende dich mir zu und sei mir gnädig! Denn einsam bin ich und elend.
Turn unto me, and be gracious unto me; for I am solitary and afflicted.
17 Die Ängste meines Herzens sind schwer geworden: o führ’ mich heraus aus meinen Nöten!
The distresses of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my afflictions.
18 Sieh mein Elend an und mein Ungemach und vergib mir alle meine Sünden! –
Look on my misery and my trouble; and forgive all my sins.
19 Sieh meine Feinde an, wie viele ihrer sind und wie sie mich hassen mit frevlem Haß.
Look at my enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with the hatred of violence.
20 Behüte meine Seele und rette mich, nicht enttäuscht laß mich werden: ich traue auf dich!
Oh, guard my soul; and deliver me: let me not be put to shame; for I put my trust in thee.
21 Unschuld und Redlichkeit mögen mich behüten, denn ich harre deiner, o HERR! –
Let integrity and uprightness guard me; for I wait on thee.
22 O Gott, erlöse Israel aus allen seinen Nöten!
Redeem, O God, Israel out of all his distresses.
