Psalm 102
1 Gebet eines Elenden, wenn er verzagt ist und seine Klage vor dem Herrn ausschüttet. HERR, höre mein Gebet
“A prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out before the Lord his complaint.” O Lord, hear my prayer, and let my cry come unto thee.
2 Verbirg dein Angesicht nicht vor mir am Tage, wo mir angst ist! Neige dein Ohr mir zu am Tage, wo ich rufe; erhöre mich eilends!
Hide not thy face from me on the day when I am distressed; incline unto me thy ear; on the day when I call, answer me speedily.
3 Ach, meine Tage sind wie Rauch entschwunden und meine Gebeine wie von Brand durchglüht;
For my days vanish in smoke, and my bones are burning like a hearth.
4 mein Herz ist versengt und verdorrt wie Gras, so daß ich sogar vergesse, Speise zu genießen;
Struck [by heat] like the herb and dried up is my heart; for I forget to eat my bread.
5 infolge meines Ächzens und Stöhnens klebt mein Gebein mir am Fleisch.
Because of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my flesh.
6 Ich gleiche dem Wasservogel in der Wüste, bin geworden wie ein Käuzlein in Trümmerstätten;
I am like the pelican of the wilderness: I am become like the owl amid ruins.
7 ich finde keinen Schlaf und klage wie ein einsamer Vogel auf dem Dache.
I watch, and I am become like a [night-]bird sitting alone upon the housetop.
8 Tagtäglich schmähen mich meine Feinde; und die gegen mich toben, wünschen mir Unheil an.
All the day my enemies reproach me: they that mock me swear by me.
9 Ach, Asche eß ich als Brot und mische meinen Trank mit Tränen
For ashes do I eat like bread, and my drink I mingle with weeping;
10 ob deinem Zorn und deinem Grimm; denn du hast mich hochgehoben und niedergeschleudert.
Because of thy indignation and thy wrath; for thou hadst lifted me up, and hast cast me down.
11 Meine Tage sind wie ein langgestreckter Schatten, und ich selbst verdorre wie Gras!
My days are like a shadow that declineth; and like the herb I wither.
12 Du aber, HERR, thronst ewiglich, und dein Gedächtnis bleibt von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.
But thou, O Lord, wilt sit enthroned for ever; and thy memorial is unto all generations.
13 Du wirst dich erheben, dich Zions erbarmen, denn Zeit ist’s, Gnade an ihm zu üben: die Stunde ist da
Thou wilt indeed arise; thou wilt have mercy upon Zion; for it is time to favor her, for the appointed time is coming.
14 - denn deine Knechte lieben Zions Steine, und Weh erfaßt sie um seinen Schutt –,
For thy servants hold dear her stones, and her very dust they cherish.
15 damit die Heiden fürchten lernen den Namen des HERRN und alle Könige der Erde deine Herrlichkeit.
Then shall nations fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory:
16 Denn der HERR hat Zion wieder aufgebaut, ist in seiner Herrlichkeit dort erschienen,
When the Lord shalt have built up Zion, he appeareth in his glory;
17 hat dem Gebet der Verlass’nen sich zugewandt und ihr Flehen nicht verachtet.
[When] he hath regarded the prayer of the forsaken, and doth not despise their prayer.
18 Dies werde aufgeschrieben fürs kommende Geschlecht, damit das neugeschaffne Volk den HERRN lobpreise,
This shall be written down for the latest generation; and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.
19 daß von seiner heiligen Höhe er herabgeschaut, daß der HERR geblickt hat vom Himmel zur Erde,
For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; the Lord hath cast from heaven his view to the earth:
20 um das Seufzen der Gefangnen zu hören und die dem Tode Geweihten frei zu machen,
To hear the sighing of the prisoner; to loosen those that are doomed to death:
21 damit man verkünde in Zion den Namen des HERRN und seinen Ruhm in Jerusalem,
That men may proclaim in Zion the name of the Lord, and his praise in Jerusalem;
22 wenn die Völker sich allzumal versammeln und die Königreiche, um (Gott) dem HERRN zu dienen.
When people are gathered together, and kingdoms, to serve the Lord.—
23 Gelähmt hat er mir auf dem Wege die Kraft, hat verkürzt meine Lebenstage.
He hath weakened on the way my strength; he hath shortened my days.
24 Nun fleh’ ich: »Mein Gott, raffe mich nicht hinweg in der Mitte meiner Tage, du, dessen Jahre währen für und für!«
I will say, O my God! take me not away in the midst of my days: throughout all generations are thy years.
25 Vorzeiten hast du die Erde gegründet, und die Himmel sind deiner Hände Werk:
In olden times didst thou lay the foundations of the earth; and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
26 sie werden vergehen, du aber bleibst; sie werden alle zerfallen wie ein Gewand, wie ein Kleid wirst du sie verwandeln, und so werden sie sich wandeln.
These will indeed perish, but thou wilt ever exist: yea, all of them will wear out like a garment; as a vesture wilt thou change them, and they will be changed;
27 Du aber bleibst derselbe, und deine Jahre nehmen kein Ende.
But thou art ever the same, and thy years will have no end.
28 Die Kinder deiner Knechte werden (sicher) wohnen, und ihr Geschlecht wird fest bestehen vor dir.
The children of thy servants will dwell [securely], and their seed will be firmly established before thee.
