Sprueche 15

1 Eine sanfte Antwort beschwichtigt den Grimm, aber ein kränkendes Wort ruft Zorn hervor. –

A soft answere putteth away wrath: but grieuous wordes stirre vp anger.

2 Die Zunge der Weisen träufelt Erkenntnis (aus), aber der Mund der Toren sprudelt Dummheit hervor. –

The tongue of the wise vseth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fooles babbleth out foolishnesse.

3 An jedem Orte sind die Augen des HERRN, sie schauen auf die Bösen und auf die Guten. –

The eyes of the Lord in euery place beholde the euill and the good.

4 Sanftheit der Zunge ist ein Baum des Lebens, aber Verkehrtheit an ihr schlägt dem Herzen Wunden. –

A wholesome tongue is as a tree of life: but the frowardnes therof is the breaking of ye minde.

5 Ein Tor verschmäht die Zucht seines Vaters; wer aber Zurechtweisung annimmt, wird klug. –

A foole despiseth his fathers instruction: but he that regardeth correction, is prudent.

6 Das Haus des Gerechten ist eine große Schatzkammer, aber im Einkommen des Gottlosen herrscht Zerrüttung. –

The house of the righteous hath much treasure: but in the reuenues of the wicked is trouble.

7 Die Lippen der Weisen streuen Erkenntnis aus, aber der Toren Sinn ist verkehrt gerichtet. –

The lippes of the wise doe spread abroade knowledge: but ye heart of the foolish doth not so.

8 Das Opfer der Gottlosen ist dem HERRN ein Greuel, aber das Gebet der Aufrichtigen ist ihm wohlgefällig. –

The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the righteous is acceptable vnto him.

9 Der Wandel des Gottlosen ist dem HERRN ein Greuel; wer aber der Gerechtigkeit nachjagt, den hat er lieb. –

The way of the wicked is an abomination vnto the Lord: but he loueth him that followeth righteousnes.

10 Schwere Züchtigung erwartet den, der den rechten Weg verläßt; wer Zurechtweisung verschmäht, wird sterben. –

Instruction is euill to him that forsaketh the way, and he that hateth correction, shall die.

11 Unterwelt und Abgrund liegen offen vor dem HERRN: um wieviel mehr die Herzen der Menschenkinder! – (Sheol h7585)

Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more the hearts of the sonnes of men? (Sheol h7585)

12 Der Spötter hat es nicht gern, daß man ihn zurechtweist; (darum) mag er sich nicht zu den Weisen gesellen. –

A scorner loueth not him that rebuketh him, neither will he goe vnto the wise.

13 Ein fröhliches Herz macht das Angesicht heiter, aber bei Bekümmernis des Herzens ist der Mut gebrochen. –

A ioyfull heart maketh a chearefull countenance: but by the sorow of the heart the minde is heauie.

14 Das Herz des Verständigen trachtet nach Erkenntnis, aber der Mund der Toren geht auf Dummheit aus. –

The heart of him that hath vnderstanding, seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of the foole is fedde with foolishnes.

15 Alle Lebenstage sind für den Unglücklichen trübselig, aber ein wohlgemuter Sinn ist wie ein beständiges Festmahl. –

All the dayes of the afflicted are euill: but a good conscience is a continuall feast.

16 Besser wenig (Habe) bei Gottesfurcht, als reiche Schätze und Unruhe dabei. –

Better is a litle with the feare of the Lord, then great treasure, and trouble therewith.

17 Besser ein Gericht Gemüse und Liebe dabei, als ein gemästeter Ochs und Haß dabei. –

Better is a dinner of greene herbes where loue is, then a stalled oxe and hatred therewith.

18 Ein zornmütiger Mensch ruft Streit hervor, aber ein langmütiger beschwichtigt den Hader. –

An angrie man stirreth vp strife: but hee that is slowe to wrath, appeaseth strife.

19 Der Weg des Faulen ist wie mit Dornen verzäunt, aber der Pfad der Fleißigen ist ebene Bahn. –

The way of a slouthfull man is as an hedge of thornes: but the way of the righteous is plaine.

20 Ein weiser Sohn ist seines Vaters Freude, aber ein törichter Mensch verachtet seine Mutter. –

A wise sonne reioyceth the father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

21 Die Torheit ist dem Unverständigen eine Freude, ein verständiger Mensch aber geht seinen Weg geradeaus. –

Foolishnes is ioy to him that is destitute of vnderstanding: but a man of vnderstanding walketh vprightly.

22 Wo keine Beratung stattfindet, da mißlingen die Pläne; wo aber viele Ratgeber sind, da kommen sie zustande. –

Without cousel thoughts come to nought: but in the multitude of counsellers there is stedfastnesse.

23 Freude hat jeder an der (treffenden) Antwort seines Mundes, und ein Wort zu rechter Zeit – wie wertvoll ist das! –

A ioy commeth to a man by the answere of his mouth: and how good is a word in due season?

24 Der Weg des Lebens geht für den Einsichtigen aufwärts, damit er dem Totenreich drunten fernbleibe. – (Sheol h7585)

The way of life is on high to the prudent, to auoyde from hell beneath. (Sheol h7585)

25 Das Haus der Hochmütigen reißt der HERR nieder, aber die Grenze der Witwe legt er fest. –

The Lord will destroye the house of the proude men: but hee will stablish the borders of the widowe.

26 Boshafte Anschläge sind dem HERRN ein Greuel, aber leutselige Worte sind (ihm) rein. –

The thoughts of ye wicked are abomination to the Lord: but the pure haue pleasant wordes.

27 Wer unrechtmäßigen Gewinn macht, zerrüttet sein (eigenes) Haus; wer aber Bestechungsgeschenke haßt, wird leben. –

He that is greedie of gaine, troubleth his owne house: but he that hateth giftes, shall liue.

28 Das Herz des Gerechten überlegt, um eine Antwort zu geben; aber der Mund der Gottlosen sprudelt Bosheiten hervor. –

The heart of the righteous studieth to answere: but the wicked mans mouth babbleth euil thinges.

29 Von den Gottlosen bleibt der HERR fern, aber das Gebet der Gerechten vernimmt er. –

The Lord is farre off from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

30 Ein freundlicher Blick erfreut das Herz; eine gute Botschaft erquickt Mark und Bein. –

The light of the eyes reioyceth the heart, and a good name maketh the bones fat.

31 Ein Ohr, das auf heilsame Zurechtweisung hört, weilt gern im Kreise der Weisen. –

The eare that hearkeneth to the correction of life, shall lodge among the wise.

32 Wer Unterweisung verschmäht, mißachtet (das Heil) seiner Seele; wer aber auf Zurechtweisung hört, erwirbt sich Einsicht. –

Hee that refuseth instruction, despiseth his owne soule: but he that obeyeth correction, getteth vnderstanding.

33 Die Furcht des HERRN ist Unterweisung zur Weisheit, und vor der Ehre geht die Demut her.

The feare of the Lord is the instruction of wisdome: and before honour, goeth humilitie.
