4 Mose 36
1 Die Familienhäupter des Geschlechts, das von Gilead, dem Sohne Machirs, dem Enkel Manasses, stammte und zu den von Joseph stammenden Geschlechtern gehörte, traten auf und trugen dem Mose und den Fürsten, den Stammeshäuptern der Israeliten,
The heads of the fathers’ households of the family of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh [Causing to forget], of the families of the sons of Joseph [May he add], came near, and spoke before Moses [Drawn out], and before the princes, the heads of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel [God prevails].
2 folgendes Anliegen vor: »Gott hat dir, o Herr, geboten, den Israeliten das Land durch das Los zum Erbbesitz zu geben; auch hast du, Herr, von Gott die Weisung erhalten, den Erbbesitz unseres Stammgenossen Zelophhad seinen Töchtern zu überweisen.
They said, “Adonai enjoined my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the children of Israel [God prevails]. My lord was enjoined by Adonai to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.
3 Wenn diese sich nun aber mit einem Manne verheiraten, der zu einem andern Stamme der Israeliten gehört, so geht ihr Erbbesitz dem Erbbesitz unserer Väter verloren und wird zu dem Erbbesitz des Stammes geschlagen, dem sie (nach ihrer Verheiratung) angehören, während er dem Losteile unseres Erbbesitzes verlorengeht.
If they are married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel [God prevails], then will their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of our fathers, and will be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong. So will it be taken away from the lot of our inheritance.
4 Und auch wenn das Halljahr für die Israeliten kommt, so bleibt ihr Erbbesitz mit dem Erbbesitz des Stammes vereinigt, dem sie (nach ihrer Verheiratung) angehören; aber dem Erbbesitz des Stammes unserer Väter geht ihr Erbbesitz verloren.«
When the Jubilee of the children of Israel [God prevails] shall be, then will their inheritance be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong. So their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.”
5 Da gab Mose den Israeliten nach dem Geheiß des HERRN folgende Weisung: »Der Stamm der Nachkommen Josephs hat recht.
Moses [Drawn out] enjoined the children of Israel [God prevails] according to Adonai’s word, saying, “The tribe of the sons of Joseph [May he add] speaks right.
6 So lautet die Verordnung, die der HERR in betreff der Töchter Zelophhads erlassen hat: Sie mögen sich ganz nach ihrem Gefallen verheiraten; jedoch dürfen sie nur mit einem Manne aus einem Geschlecht ihres väterlichen Stammes die Ehe eingehen,
This is the thing which Adonai does enjoin concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, ‘Let them be married to whom they think best; only they shall marry into the family of the tribe of their father.
7 damit nicht ein Erbbesitz der Israeliten von einem Stamm an einen andern übergeht; denn die Israeliten sollen ein jeder den Erbbesitz ihres väterlichen Stammes ungeschmälert erhalten.
So shall no inheritance of the children of Israel [God prevails] move from tribe to tribe; for the children of Israel [God prevails] shall all keep the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
8 Darum darf jedes Mädchen, das in einem von den israelitischen Stämmen zu Grundbesitz gelangt, nur einen Mann aus einem Geschlecht ihres väterlichen Stammes heiraten, damit die Israeliten allesamt ihren väterlichen Erbbesitz ungeschmälert erhalten
Every daughter who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel [God prevails] shall be wife to one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel [God prevails] may each possess the inheritance of his fathers.
9 und kein Erbbesitz von einem Stamm an einen andern übergeht; denn die Stämme der Israeliten sollen ein jeder seinen Erbbesitz ungeschmälert erhalten.«
So shall no inheritance move from one tribe to another tribe; for the tribes of the children of Israel [God prevails] shall each keep his own inheritance.’”
10 Wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte, so taten die Töchter Zelophhads;
The daughters of Zelophehad did as Adonai enjoined Moses [Drawn out]:
11 denn Mahla, Thirza, Hogla, Milka und Noa, die Töchter Zelophhads, verheirateten sich mit den Söhnen ihrer Oheime;
for Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Noah [Rest], the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to their dod ·father’s· brothers’ sons.
12 mit Männern aus den Geschlechtern, die von Manasse, dem Sohne Josephs, stammten, verheirateten sie sich, und so verblieb ihr Erbbesitz bei dem Stamme, dem das Geschlecht ihres Vaters angehörte.
They were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh [Causing to forget] the son of Joseph [May he add]. Their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.
13 Dies sind die Gebote und Verordnungen, die der HERR an die Israeliten in den Steppen der Moabiter am Jordan, Jericho gegenüber, durch Vermittlung Moses hat ergehen lassen.
These are the mitzvot ·instructions· and the judgments which Adonai enjoined by the hand of Moses [Drawn out] to the children of Israel [God prevails] in the plains of Moab [From father] by the Jordan [Descender] across from Jericho [Fragrant, Moon].
